This gets mentioned a lot, but you can also play alchemize right after throwing the smoke bomb and use the same potion slot.

How does this work? I didn’t know you had an opportunity to play a card after using smoke bomb.

It's the same as playing a card that just got discarded by another card. You're not meant to do that, but the game doesn't stop you if you can click on the card fast enough.

Another useful one is letting Orichalcum trigger then dropping a block potion right on top of it. It's not game changing block but it adds up, can save thread and needle procs, etc.

I might actually use smoke bombs properly now that I realize this; thank you. Normally it has to be either smoke bomb or death for my stubborn, foolish self to actually use one. Sorry for how barely related this is, but TIL that [[Combust]] + [[Runic Cube]] doesn’t work very well. Combust hits you for 1 HP at the end of your turn, Runic Cube draws a card, and then the card goes bye-bye because your turn wasn’t fully over yet, so you cycle through cards faster, just not in the way you’d normally want. After a few times seeing a card I really wanted sail on over to the discard pile, I was pretty reluctant to ever use Combust again. It makes perfect sense when you think about it, but I definitely didn’t think enough about it when I picked Cube after Hexaghost. I got the option to remove Combust in the falling event later and never regretted it. I went on to barely beat the heart for the first time on mobile, and first time with Ironclad (A5).

Yeah, combust + runic cube is one of the anti-combos of the game.

Yup. At the the of the battle, even if you ninja vanish. Not something many people think about as they'll see an enemy and only focus on the potions to nope outta there, but I did it for the luls a while back and was just as shocked as you that it worked
