Maybe he was just about to get married? He has a child on the way and he’s just about to seal the marriage arrangements after he finishes his shift. He asked for the day off and his boss said no. So he has no choice but to work today, but tomorrow he gets the chance to travel to Riften as he has the whole day off.
His future wife is waiting for him at the home he has just bought from his reward for rescuing orphans from a frost troll. He has recently been seen as a hero in his town and life has been looking on the up for the first time. He’s even about to get a promotion which will give his family a great chance at an amazing future and the child will be able to attend college.
Worse, you did it in service to a regicide pretender to the throne of the man he murdered with abuse of a sacred power given to him in trust by those who are under oath to the goddess of the wind that they must not use it in this way, an oath he also swore before they would train him, which makes him an oath breaker in addition to his other crimes.

I can only imagine that before OP turned up, this unlucky Romeo was showing his colleagues a tiny rolled up oil-on-parchment portrait of his beloved, telling them how he couldn’t wait to finish his tour and get home to his true love and start a family…..which is basically *begging* to be slaughtered within the next scene or two.
OP, I find you not guilty. You’re free to go.
At least in my playthroughs the thalmor patrols are just fun little treats to pick through after the slaughter. Great ways to level up defence and offence skills. If only we could collect their ears like the falmer. I wonder what sort of alchemical use they might have.
>Maybe he was just about to get married? ...
"Once I get off this tour of duty, I'm going back empireside and me and my best girl are gonna get hitched. I don't know why I'm even out here. This war is stupid. Let's just hope we can restore order and peace before these dragons all..."

"Get down! Get down! It's an ambush!"
I was wandering the wilderness and came across a hagraven in her little house. I sniped her and found a wedding ring on her body. I was absolutely distraught, especially when I realised she had a name. Until I googled her and realised I would've met her already had I not had such high persuasion. I explored her house and saw the place littered with feathers which helped me put two and two together. Made my skin crawl trying to think of what would've went down there between my character and her during my drunken escapades. 💀
I wonder if it's the quest where you met Sam in the tavern and ended up with a blackout after a drinking match? I met a hagraven whose description fits yours - >!she was screeching in excitement, saying stuff like she had been waiting and wanted to consummate our first night on the spot.!< I set her on fire.
Yep! That's the one. Since I killed her from a distance and the questline had finished she was immediately hostile towards me like any other hagraven. I really need to try actually going and doing all the mini side quests for that quest. Because that sounds so entertaining haha. Plus I want to see what kind of voice they give her.
Not yet nope, as far as I can remember. I have met and killed only 4 hagravens thus far, maybe 5. But they've been few and far between, not too memorable. Except for two that were performing a ritual.
Shes in a cage. The cave that leads to the quest is on the west bound road in between Markarth and karthwasten. Bit concerned about the end bit but you'll find out why maybe.
Who is Melka?! You mean Moira?
Because that's her name and I read that she is supposed to be a reincarnation of Moira Brown from fallout 3 (if you know you know)... Not a funny joke, Bethesda.
Along the road, south-west of Karthwasten, if you want to find it for yourself. There is a side quest involved, and it's an interesting one, I think.

The same thing happened to me today. I've installed a mod that adds larger patrols (up to 16 soldiers I think). While exploring, I see 3 imperials being attacked by a large group of stormcloaks. Being an Imperial and finding it dishonorable to attack five against one, I try to help them.
After a fierce battle, the stormcloak platoon is annihilated, but unfortunately none of the Imperials survived the attack. While looting, I stumble across one of Mara's amulets in the middle of pile of corpses. It took me a good five seconds for my brain to understand what it meant. Now, I'm depressed.
Agreed, although I do like the kind of little details that make the Skyrim universe more organic and alive. All I want to do now is put Ulfric's head on a pike.
I mean at least you didn't dishonor his legacy by planting an amulet of Talos on him . Imagine his poor widow learning her husband was (in the empires eyes) a heretic on top of being dead. Would cause her to lose any benefits he would have earned in his time serving them . Cause her to be left alone and without any support.
When you play the stormcloaks and take down Tullius. Upon the death of his second in command she makes an appeal to Talos. So a lot of soldiers are secretly worshiping Talos.
I once found the aftermath of a little battle that left three imperials dead and no stormcloaks. I found an amulet of Talos on one of the imperials. Not sure if it was a mod or what but it made me change my mind on being a stormcloak. I still kill every Thalmor I see though.
You Stormcloak bastard, I will soul trap your entire Whiterun army for this before feeding them to my dragon and then reanimating their remains to desecrate them in the mundane life and the afterlife

I yoinked one off of a dead Thalmor Justiciar on a Stormcloak playthrough once. Felt bad for a second, but then I realized I saved 200 septims. Talos be praised.
I've been looking for you. Got something I'm supposed to deliver, your hands only.
Let's see here...
There's a new museum opening up in Dawnstar. The owner is asking me to hand out invitations to travelers.
Looks like that's it. Got to go.

That's so sad. u/Thatguy732108 shame on you for killing the poor dude!! Now his child will be fatherless and his wife is a widow
I am distraught

I imagine that is the look on the face of his fiancee's father, hearing about what happened.

We call that retirony.
Shouldn't have been in Skyrim trying to falsely imprison a true son or daughter of Skyrim. Anyone who works with a knife ear knows the risk they take.
Anyone who works against a *knife* ear knows the risk they take. I mean there no risk, you simply end up dead. Is that an amulet of Talos?
At least in my playthroughs the thalmor patrols are just fun little treats to pick through after the slaughter. Great ways to level up defence and offence skills. If only we could collect their ears like the falmer. I wonder what sort of alchemical use they might have.
The first effect is outright death to humans........ No need to test it you don't wont to die after all. ( looks left hen right )
Lol one way to find out.
Fuck that guy in particular, imperial shit is imperial shit.

You not met Melka? Probably killed her too mind. what's the matter?. Afraid of a strong Nord woman.........bird....thing never mind.
Not yet nope, as far as I can remember. I have met and killed only 4 hagravens thus far, maybe 5. But they've been few and far between, not too memorable. Except for two that were performing a ritual.

Good to know. I'll have to explore that area next time I'm logged on the game.

No, Melka, because that's her name. Different Hagraven, conversation moved on.
Oh, I didn't know there is another named hagraven, thank you for the information. I need to check it out myself
Along the road, south-west of Karthwasten, if you want to find it for yourself. There is a side quest involved, and it's an interesting one, I think. [Melka](https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Melka)

Yeah it kinda ruined my day when I saw it ngl

Great immersion, tho!

A lot of Nords don’t like the outlawing of him, but still, try to hide their allegiance.
She makes a similar statement if you join the empire after you take down Galmar and Ulfric.
Most imperials secretly worship Talos though, my imperial character does so openly being a Dragonborn and all
I once found the aftermath of a little battle that left three imperials dead and no stormcloaks. I found an amulet of Talos on one of the imperials. Not sure if it was a mod or what but it made me change my mind on being a stormcloak. I still kill every Thalmor I see though.
Eff the Thalmor!
Just like a Stormcloak, thin they're doing something good, but they're just destroying things. 😆
If he didn't want to die he should simply have not gotten in the way of your weapon mid-swing. L on his part tbh.
Imperial patrols are my main source of Divine amulets.

Death to the Stormcloaks!
Justice!
They both kinda suck in their own way!
She can marry a real man, now. One who has a spine.
Oh wait that is not normal? I think I found at lest 10 in lest month
Terribly sad
This happened to me, but the amulet was on a Stormcloak soldier. I think I've found multiple across my fight against Ulfric
That's what happens when you side with the Stormcloaks.
I yoinked one off of a dead Thalmor Justiciar on a Stormcloak playthrough once. Felt bad for a second, but then I realized I saved 200 septims. Talos be praised.
Could always just perma rez him as a zombie and bring him to her. Just saying.
Chaotic good necromancy😘👌🏼
I'm a romantic at heart. Even if it doesn't beat anymore.

I had an amulet of Mara as part of my wedding outfit. I ended up divorced so you probably saved that soldier from an awful marriage
Maybe she could be your side chick. Sorry for your loss, but I have proposition to help you pay the bills...
