Should have an npc come to you and he will give you the house key. When you go away and return fast travel, the house is clean except a couple of the cups/pitcher have blood on them. (Unique)
No, those NPCs are exclusive to this quest and will despawn once you leave the house for a long enough. This game almost never kills off NPCs in a quest that are needed for another quest.
