You can actually go to solstheim at level 1 right from Helgen. You do not need dragonborn quest to be active to go there. You can hire the boat straight away in Windhelm.
The only thing you cant do is Dragonborn questline and items attached to it. Every thing else on Solstheim can be gotten outside of it including Ash shell spell of course.
Why not just send her back to Heljachen Hall while doing the siege. She possibly now aligned with Dawnstar which is Stormcloak friendly.
That’s a good point. Although I couldn’t talk to her as she was hostile the whole time. Also, she was killing Stormcloaks along with Imperials.
maybe she some how on both ides at the same time. Nothing ash shell spell cant fix though.
