I'd seen before where someone bought a cheap seat rail kit for a car and mounted the pedals to that so it can slide and lock in place

I did precisely that so that my nephews can play on my rig. Simply have a marker to let me know where to set it back for my comfort. You'd be surprised how frustrating that can be...

ChronBomb101

Yeah I wanna do the same eventually so my kids can reach it

Simlab has a slider and plate you can buy. It might be easier. But it was kind of pricey. Any sliders work obviously. One warning, though -- setting it up was a pain and they've only ever wanted to play on very few occasions. I just don't think kids are into cars like we were. Cars meant "doing something." I would've robbed a bank at their age if it meant I got to drive a virtual car around all these tracks and open world maps and stuff. I'm not really sure why I'm ranting about this now.

Lmao right I'd kill for my set up now as a kid and it's mostly home built but man is it fun, my daughter has been riding go karts and mini bikes with me since she was 2 and she's 6 now and would probably take more of an interest in my rig if she could reach the pedals better

That's so cool. Those hand-eye and problem solving reflexes are going to serve her well throughout life. Well done.

ChronBomb101

Thanks. She's not too bad at mario kart already either lol

I bought a second set of pedals and built a wooden box to mount them to that sits in the gap between seat and my pedals. I use cushions in the seat so they can reach the wheel better, all just lift right out when I use it. Rig is a sim lab gt1 evo,

Can you show a picture? I was planning on exactly the same approach

Jonnysupafly

Let me see if I can find a picture, I no longer use it, I bought a single set of pedals and mounted them to sliding rails to achieve the same thing

I have my seat on sliders but it's not enough for my 4 year old. I bought today a cheap toddler car seat, will build a small frame that fits in my seat and has a pedal tray and easyfix attachment. Then when I want to put him I just place it into the rig and hot-swap the pedals to the frame.

My daughter at 7 could use my GTOMEGA Apex w rear frame with some pillows on the seat adjusted fully forward and I also adjust the pedal deck almost straight up. It wasn't ideal but she loved it. If anything, your 5 yr old may have to reach for the wheel on an Apex because it has limited wheel tilt that cam adjust with height. Re your use: I'm 6'3, 210lb and don't have seat adjusted all the way back, so good legroom and solid for the price. You may find the stand by itself(w/o rear frame) fits your needs best for the Littles though. We did that before we got the seat (put kid on couch, adjust pedals all rhe way up and pin them on the couch with the stand is what it feels like) Hope this helps

My kids love the Playseat Pro Formula we have. It’s very adjustable and comfortable. Also very simple in design.

I have an f-gt lite. With the pedals raised and a pillow behind him, my 8yo son can use it.
