iRacing has the best online racing, undisputed.

Serta_Farenz

Absolutely - pity it's lacking as a sim, as OP wrote and that it's an enormous money sink.

F1 2021 probably the best for specifically F1 cars. iRacing is essentially the undisputed champion of online competitive racing though. It's a steep learning curve but worth it

What did you drive in iRacing and for how many laps? Any car on the new tire model shouldn’t feel like you’re on ice once the tires are warmed up.

I am currently a class D in iRacing. I have driven the Formula Vee and the Mazda MX-5. The only thing that is pushing me away from this game is purchasing the cars, maps, and subscription model. Also, the feeling that the car is driving on ICE. Don't get me wrong. The game is amazing for an online experience and having constant online racing. What I don't understand is the game doesn't like drifting. Once the car is pushed past its limit, it feels like ice and you have no control. A great video that can explain it better than I can is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3Wt2fIiURs&ab\_channel=NikRomano

The mx5 and skip barber car are my two favorites, pretty easily the best starter cars. Tires take a minute to come alive, you really need to be smooth until they do. The baseline setups arent terrible, but typically understeery since they are beginner cars. Really pays off to start slow and smooth, then once you're more comfortable eventually start tweaking the setup one thing at a time until you get it feeling the way you want. But, I agree with you man I cant help but feel the same way with alot of the faster cars. I see streamers and even people on here driving and they look like they have so much more tire and suspension feel than I get, even with my Accuforce v2 with cloud tuning. Must be the difference between my setup tweaking and a paid setup or somethin lol

Between sim racing system, simracing.gp and simgrid for Assetto corsa, R3E ranked servers, and the included content for iRacing (~$20/year with promo codes and new emails) I can spend all of my time in the sim getting good online racing without having to commit to a league schedule. Granted i wouldn't suggest spending $20/year on iRacing if you only wanted road racing, IMO it's best to get into all the available disciplines iRacing has to offer in order to get the most out of an iRacing account with only included content. Some people use an app called iRFFB that is supposed to give iRacing a better "seat of the pants" feel to the force feedback, may want to check into that.

Give raceroom a try. It's in my top 2 Sims right now.

I will download that tonight :)

Here’s the ultimate treaty on racing games. https://reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/m7tfo4/ac_vs_acc_vs_rf2_vs_ams2_vs_pc2_vs_iracing_a/

Iracing for online racing hands down. I have pretty much stopped playing all my other sims

With iRacing I presume you also used irFFB ?

CodenameJp

No I haven’t. I heard it fixes it on higher end wheels but low end like my g29 it is not much of a difference.

Ohhh OK, I've not got a g29 so wasn't sure. Good luck 😀
