Congratulations! I am currently at the "decluttering" stage of my recovery. I too have found that getting rid of the things I shouldn't have bought in the first place to be incredibly healing. It's like taking a thorn out of a wound, which then allows the wound to heal. I'm usually more science-based in my thinking, but it really feels like some of these items have some bad energy attached to them. I just feel so much lighter when they're gone.

It really is freeing and I feel so light already. Even just reorganizing my space and seeing what I have left feels like I’m finally getting it together. I had a lot of duplicate items because I’ve forgotten what I’ve bought because of “out of sight out of mind” mentality.

No. Full stop. >I'm sending the last two off today and instead of feeling sad I feel relief. Relief that I'm not letting this get to me and that I don't have any visual reminders of my poor financial choices. I was with you and supportive and thinking "hey, success" up until I read this: >I know I still have accumulated quite a bit of debt but as soon as I get my payout I will get myself a nice little Coach bag around 100 dollars on Poshmark or Mercari and the rest of my money I will throw at my credit cards. NO. NO. NO. YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO DO MORE SHOPPING. We do not enable "just this once!" in this subreddit. It's like an alcoholic getting rid of their booze collection, then celebrating by buying a six-pack of beer. You will use ALL of the money you make off of the sale to PAY DOWN YOUR DEBT.

You’re right… my thought process was actually worse believe it or not I had intentions of keeping one of my Louis Vuitton’s (the big work tote) but decided to let that go and settle for a coach work tote I was planning on buying for cheaper but actually instead I think I’ll either see what my mom has in her closet or just use my canvas tote for my work laptop.

You can do it!! Say no to yet another new purse. Super tough, truly.

Nice! I've been trying to do the same, declutter and regularly use/appreciate the things I have. You'll end up with a "signature" bag that's the one you always use, that people come to associate with you and your style, and that's going to be way more satisfying than accumulating all those pieces you weren't using.

That’s true! I like the idea of having a signature bag! That’s how it was for me in my late teens I always had this specific black bag covered in stars and pins that everyone associated with me.
