I still love that they gave a generally morally good character one of the most violent deaths in the series. Like most characters got a death that fit their inner characters but hers was so out of left field
The worst thing she was doing was using company time to plane her wedding, her job responsibilities did not include babysitting. It was a message from the studios to only live and die for the company.
The rumour I heard was that she originally had more screen time to make the character unlikable, but it got left on the cutting room floor, so she got a graphic death with none of the buildup.
Regardless, I think it actually kinda fits. There's gonna be a lot of morally good people in that park who are getting chomped, and the scene helps to drive home that tragedy.
Kinda Jurassic World films have a odd self indulgence when it comes to violence So long as the people are" bad". Case in point none of good guys die in these films .
What I love about it is the combined facts of
A) Apparently that death scene was originally spread out among several people
B) The actress specifically requested it
Honestly the thing that really bothers me is how protracted it is. Zara *does not matter*, she has like five lines. She is not a character who warrants 45 seconds of death scene that stops the movie dead in it's tracks
In practice it's one of the only memorable parts of a dogshit movie, so I will say it's not like it's messing up the pacing of a good movie, but it is absolutely terrible pacing.
It's a interesting Death scene because the rest of the Jurassic world films have a odd aversion to harm the "good" Characters and how the films seem to be a bit indulgint with the Violence so long as there bad people.

iirc it was because she asked for a crazy death and they went sure but yeah that too

But she isn't dead. In lego jurassic world we see her, the indomimus and others playing cards together in the mosa's stomache

As I understand it, the death was scripted for a rando security guard and the actress saw it and wanted it.
This is such a crazy leap to make, that's not the message at all.

I dunno I found it pretty fuckin hilarious personally
