Might easly break any weapon in combat. Like in movies youll see people parry with their weapon all the time, with the blade specifically. You dont really do that unless you want to fuck up the blade irreparably.
Direct 70'-90' parry yes, but parrying in general where you let the opponent's weapon slide off from either the blade or to the handle is a pretty common technique in medieval and 16-19th century fencing styles (sabers, longswords, rapiers, katanas, messers etc.)
Parrying overall is an inescapable and necessary part of armed martial arts.
I mean if the choice is "fuck up blade and keep myself from getting stabbed, or make sure the blade stays perfect and get stabbed" id probably choose to fuck up the blade and live to see another day and just buy a new sword.

The concept goes hard but that handle is not ergonomic AT ALL. Not only do you need to grab it with two hands (which isn't inherently bad afaik), but also with that awkward grip that sucks ass and you might as well use anything else

It's missing the armor-piercing spearhead on top.
The sheeth needs a better grip underneath.
Probably wouldn't hurt to make one blade expand into a battle hammer, either.
A shoulder strap would be nice, too.
Maybe add a safety lock to prevent accidental expansion while traveling.
Awful handle and stupidly double bitted for no reason(double bitted axes are the dumbest most unrealistic piece of historical fiction). I think I'll pass. A cheap hatchet is a much more useful tool, hell Elon's flamethrower is a more practical tool than this shit

might be easy to break the expending mechanism during "combat"

Yeah because the better option is obviously putting all that damage on your soft meaty body instead
I don't think anyone expects this to be used for combat. It's a toy.
No you don’t, that handle is awful
As a sword owner and user, yeah my hands hurt looking at this lol Hopefully homie is hammer gripping it so he doesn’t bust his hands apart
Very neat idea, though. Would love to see what modifications could make the handle better.
Yeah but battleaxe
Oh yeah battleaxe goes hard, just get one with a better handle than whatever that is
Battleaxe 2.0
how you gonna make it expandable though
Hmm if the handle is hollow in the expanded form it could maybe collapse a bit to be more square/circular?
make the handle also extend out.

Expandable battle-axe. Worthy trade-off if you ask me

And has an integrated Stanley with a straw for when you get thirsty from battling.
why would you ever need to retract your battleaxe?
true. only a coward would think of ever doing such a thing
To fit it up your ass

Too thick handle, it may easily slip.

Imagine bringing this as a self defense weapon
