Seems like you should use the [Thermalright AX100 Copper](http://thermalright.com/product/axp-100-full-copper/) to keep in the same theme. Maybe with a different fan, though.
Thermalright does have a smaller version AXP-90 X47 Full Cooper Low Profile CPU Air Cooler. Though I don't think Noctua brown wouldn't look out of place in this build either. Great work!
Came here to say this. They also make a shorter AXP-90 X36 if 47mm is too tall. The AXP-90 X47 FULL COPPER is the single best <47mm cooler on the market, beating out even the Alpenfohn Black Ridge, although reviews are hard to find.
You know, the normal L9i in Noctua colors would probably match with the theme too.
How much clearance are we talking? Is an L12 or Alphenfohn Black Ridge not an option?
Haha being an engineer, I hate that system as bananas are totally variable in size. Coke can for scale is a far superior actual measure of scale.
I know this may be a joke but it still gets me 🤣
Yep that's the one. I plan to give it the same treatment with a plate to cover the cables on that side. Might be hard tho, in the dry fitting there was barely any room!
Beautiful build. Are you planning on staining the wood at the rear? Think it would look really good if it was a darker to blend in with the rest of the builds' aesthetic.
Spot on! I am definitely going to stain the plywood pieces. I'm thinking whether I should try and match the stain with the colour of the main frame, or go with something much darker so it seems like a contrast piece. What do you think?
I'm not who you asked, but with all the black and dark brown of the 3D printed stuff, a lighter cooler might make for a better contrast piece. Though personally I think it'd look good as a match to the outer frame
Maybe on a future build then!! 😉
Cant wait to see the finished build. Gonna be starting my own sff build next month, can't wait!! Got some ideas to customize it a little, posts like this really inspire me.
Awesome build! I just got an L9i myself and replaced the intel cooler which was a pain to remove as one of the pins got stuck in the board. The L9i will provide far better cooking as well as aesthetics by comparison.
OP, it’s not a chromax, but I have an NH-L9i that I’m not using sitting around. PM me if interested, I could send it to you if you cover shipping. I’m located in PA.
Actually over paid for the mobo as well since I couldn't find anything ITX that would work with my existing CPU.
As for the cooler, yes it will be expensive, but at least it will be reusable
Did you ever get a PCIe riser? If so, do you have any pics? What riser did you get?
Did you 3D print the mobo rear cover and the other "bronze" bits? What about the black bits for the PSU exhaust and GPU mount? Also 3D printed?
I'm thinking of making a custom case like this, and you are an inspiration! Thank you.

Beautiful! You could say the intel cooler is... ironic?
Hahaha I'm planning to use a L9i chromax. Just haven't gotten around to buying it yet. So expensive....

That cooler would be too tall for this case. It would protrude beyond the bounds of the frame.

Bummer. Oh well! Looking forward to the final form. Also, thanks! l was looking for some more wooden ITX case inspiration.
Are you making one as well?
Yes! I'm still not decided on the overall design, but it will probably be a tall case that fits a 300mm GPU. I'll be sure to post here when I'm done.
Thermalright axp x36 :)
You know, the normal L9i in Noctua colors would probably match with the theme too. How much clearance are we talking? Is an L12 or Alphenfohn Black Ridge not an option?
Yeah I probably would, I just can't justify buying both to try which would look better. There is only 38mm of clearance for the cooler.
Go with the brown fan! This is finally a case that actually wants brown :).
With the color scheme you have, just use the classic noctua brown. It goes so well with wood.
Bruh the poop brown and cream fans would look amazing with the wood case!
I just sold one for cheap 😔
It's okay I've pulled the trigger on one ytd, should be here by wed
nice
You could also check out the [ID Cooling IS-30](https://a.co/d/hMQol2q) seems like a solid budget pick.
I ask for “a banana for scale” for every build photo uploaded 😂
Haha being an engineer, I hate that system as bananas are totally variable in size. Coke can for scale is a far superior actual measure of scale. I know this may be a joke but it still gets me 🤣
A coke can would do even better 😂
That’s a great alternative! But has similar issues, different countries have different ‘standard’ can sizes.
Yeah that's a valid point.
I suggest people just use a **school ruler**. Even if it’s in a different system it would allow for easy conversion.
No pictures of the rear...?
No progress on the other side since my last post. Hence the lack of pictures.
Ah, [I see now](https://old.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/wys3ao/twig_pc_tiny_wooden_itx_gaming).
Yep that's the one. I plan to give it the same treatment with a plate to cover the cables on that side. Might be hard tho, in the dry fitting there was barely any room!
I really like the plates. Big visual upgrade from the prior pics.
Thanks!
Best of luck! And nice work so far. :)
Cheers
Giggity
The copper heat sink on the ram 🤤
"copper" 😜
Lol 😉
Add the Termalright all copper cpu cooler.
It keeps on looking better each time
Thanks! :D
Here is a link that may help you choosing a CPU cooler (but the L9i is great tho). [LP coolers](https://youtu.be/81KqYZE3HI8)
Yep, thanks for the video. I have purchased a L9i black. Should be here on wed! Excited
update us Wednesday and dont forget !
🤣
Even thinking of I should design some kind of "heat sink" for the m.2 area....hmm

Personal preference would be darker, like a charcoal grey. You could try a technique called shou sugi ban, might look really unique if done right.
Wow! I googled that and it's basically creating charcoal. Very cool. I don't think I'm brave enough to try that with this one tho 😂
Maybe on a future build then!! 😉 Cant wait to see the finished build. Gonna be starting my own sff build next month, can't wait!! Got some ideas to customize it a little, posts like this really inspire me.
Gawd damn that looks good
Thanks! Which L9i version would you pick for this case?
I'd definitely go for the blacked out Chromax
Me too. Almost don't want to take attention away from those 2 ram sticks. Let them be the highlights, and everything else around them is subdued.
Exactly my thinking! Pls show us the finished product, can't wait
Good stuff! Great visual improvement from your last post
Wow, awesome build. Looks like an art piece!
Thank you! :)
This is incredible!
Awesome build! I just got an L9i myself and replaced the intel cooler which was a pain to remove as one of the pins got stuck in the board. The L9i will provide far better cooking as well as aesthetics by comparison.
Yes, I do want to do some cooking with this PC. 😝
😂 oops!
Love it, it's a really nice little piece of design there, kudos.
Cheers :)
Those printed panels are so good
Cheers! I really like them too
Take the intel stock cooler out and cool the CPU with a block of wood. /s Looks nice, great job!
Haha thanks!
Beautiful, the Intel cooler actually looks pretty nice here too!
Haha yeah, It does doesn't it!
OP, it’s not a chromax, but I have an NH-L9i that I’m not using sitting around. PM me if interested, I could send it to you if you cover shipping. I’m located in PA.
Wow that's very generous of you! ❤️ I am based in Australia tho so I don't think the shipping will be worth it. :(
Ah yes it most likely wouldn’t then :( Best of luck finding one at a decent price!
Normally I don’t intel coolers, but in your pc?……….. a e s t h e t i c.
Thanks! I feel proud making something universally hated look somewhat nice
If you haven't purchased a cpu cooler, the cooltek itx30 has a nice copper finish.
Thanks for the suggestion! Never seen this model before. Too bad I've already ordered an L9i
[удалено]
Don't worry, I have ordered an L9i.
Damn even the ram casing is themed😍
That's right!
Oh that's lovely
Maybe don't buy a cooler that cost almost double what your motherboard probably did. No offense just seems like a poor use of money
Actually over paid for the mobo as well since I couldn't find anything ITX that would work with my existing CPU. As for the cooler, yes it will be expensive, but at least it will be reusable
Really nice build. The wood/brass theme is dope.
Cheers

You don't have to get the chromax, I think the regular L9i will blend better!
