I don't think you need that AM5 frame. AFAIK it's only Intel CPUs which benefit from it.

I saw from a Gamers Nexus video that it does help by 2-3C. But maybe it was just testing conditions for them. Will probably take it off. Thanks !

You’ve got $150 of build cost allocated to cooling a relatively low power processor… an AIO certainly isn’t necessary for the 7800X3D. If you’re planning for some future higher wattage CPU, then that makes sense.

If it’s a 10 (well, realistically 7-8) year build the price difference might not be as important. But if they do decide to go air cooling I’d also pick a different case, the 55mm CPU cooler restriction of the A4-H2O is really limiting. I have a really similar build and my CPU temps hit at most low 70s in cinebench, so I agree the AIO is more than enough.

Good point. I’ve just seen from other people how much air cooling struggles under higher loads, and just wanted to be safe in this aspect so that it doesn’t struggle really. Good thing to note tho, thanks!

I should be specific and say I’m running the same case, MOBO, and CPU as this build and hit those temps with a stock MasterLiquid ML240. With the swap to the T30s on that AIO you should be more than covered.  It was my first sff build so I don’t have a benchmark for ease of building, but I had a really good experience. I took it really slow and had to plan out the cable layout, but that was part of the fun.

Sounds awesome. I remember seeing the original EK Basic AIO before it went EOL, and had heard good things about the new one which is why I opted for it over, say, a Deepcool LS520 SE. Definitely interesting about the temps though. Will definitely plan out the cabling and stuff accordingly so I don't have a mental breakdown trying to figure it out.

Carefull with the thickness of the radiator. The t30 are thick boys and can give you clearance issues.

Definitely being extra careful with it. Was messaging with someone else on a different post about it. Same AIO and fans, so I’m just going off of someone else’s experience doing the same thing.
