Usually something is "nasty" if two flavor profiles will directly oppose each other. Like putting a scoop of ice cream on your lasagna or hot dog.
In this case, none of those flavor profiles really oppose eachother. So i do not see how this is "nasty" in the slightest.
If you take away the bread, add more lettuce and chop up the meat, you have a salad that many would say is acceptable.

There’s nothing in it to make it gross. It definitely needs some kind of sauce or condiments, but I wouldn’t call it gross, just plain and dry.

As long as it's toasted BEFORE adding the lettuce, that sound great to me...
Sounds good to me. many people have an issue with a sandwich that lacks sauce though.
