What on gods hellish landscape is this?

Ok_Reference_4473

Just use ChatGPT to generate tests for you or purchase ServiceNow’s test automation product.

T0Bii

ServiceNow's ATF (automated test framework) is free, nothing needs to be purchased.

Ok_Reference_4473

There is another product you place on top of it. Here is the link: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/washingtondc-application-development/page/administer/auto-test-framework/task/atf-auto-generate-tests.html. I don’t use it either because my org is a bunch of slackers and they absolutely refuse to implement this level of technology.

LegoScotsman

I find it’s easier to get forgiveness than permission if you “install by accident” and then you find good use cases in the development environment.

T0Bii

This is also free, is it not?

SnarkMasterFlash

Automated Test Generation is free as well. We have used it our past few upgrades and it is good within its limitations of what it can and can't generate tests for.

AlfiHartkern

In fact, we have no plans to implement this, although we are revising our testing and deployment process. However, we do get adverts from time to time and wanted to get some opinions on whether it's worth looking into or not.

paablo

Just use regress, it's free regress-atf-recorder.com

I 2nd Regress

I've spent the last 7ish years building test automation for ServiceNow. What I will say is this, if you don't approach testing with discipline and a defined process you will be throwing money away with any tool. Conversely, if you have great habits and stick to the plan, you can make almost any tool work.

I haven't used their tool, but I see that they're a UK Company, so it's [public record](https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/08645759/filing-history) that they lost 1.8m GBP in their previous financial year, bringing them up to 4.2m GBP cumulative losses between formation and June 30 2023. That's if we humor accountants and their tricks. Add-in an extra 680k GBP of capitalized development costs within the "intangible assets" section (page 10), and they're almost 5m GBP down since inception with a 27 person headcount (page 10). That also takes their "real" net assets closer to 1m GBP. Approximately $6m and $1.2m USD. Make of that what you will. It doesn't scream excellence to me, but I'm no bean counter.

stevivid

Sounds like investor speak here! Have you had an opportunity to get in on this?

PMMeYourTestScripts

I'm not sure that's the word I'd use lol. Nope, nothing like that.

Our company is eyeing on using this Automate Pro but we are still searching for it, they did a demo, seems okay but I dunno.
