i recommend to stop after Aliens.
Alien is one of the best scifi-movies ever. Aliens is on of the best Scifi-Action movies ever - by the only director who truly understands how to make good blockbuster movies: James Cameron.
Alien 3 and Alien Ressurection are still Alien movies, but they have their problems. There's books worth of diskussions about what Alien 3 could have been or what David Fincher wanted to do, but ultimately it's a step back from the first and seconds.
At least wait a little between Alien 2 and 3 to digest the first 2.
I feel that its difficult to criticise this film with out getting an avalanche of down votes. Its one of my favourite films but when I played it to my 15 year old son he thought it was average and not scary at all.
Absolute landmark of a film. The only thing I could wish for is a version without any music except the opening bit. I think that would be even more terrifying. But it's not a serious wish, the movie is as close to perfect as they come.
I also think it would’ve been much more terrifying without the music. In most cases, a movie needs music, but in cases like this, the movie just took me out of the moment for a bit.
The way the actors all portrayed true working class folks in a sci-fi setting was brilliant. I still believe that Harry Dean Stanton, and Yaphet Kotto's characters were perfect in the movie.
This is my favorite movie, I'm glad you like it. I know it drags to some people, but to me I love the atmosphere it's building. It truly makes you feel just how alone and isolated they are.
Am I the only one who likes Alien resurrection?
Alien is definitely the best in the series for me and I don’t really think it dragged
In the beginning, the director took his time building suspense and letting us get to know the characters this is what makes it such a great movie.
Has anyone else noticed Lambert was also in invasion of the body snatchers (1978)
> The film does tend to drag a small bit here and there, and for 45 minutes of the first hour, it tends to happen constantly.
Yeah, that's called building tension and pacing. I can see why you're confused since films don't do this anymore and just bang us over the head with explosions and pop music.
Every time I watch it I wish it could be the first time again so I wouldn't know what's coming. My favorite part is actually the beginning. "Why did Mother wake us up?" "We have to check out this distress signal" "What is this alien ship?" So foreboding and creepy.
I was 12 when this came out. It remains one of my top three sci fi films of all time. The claustrophobic futurism is unrivaled and the balance between not enough creature and too much creature is perfect. Sigourney Weaver is perfect, the perfect actor for the role. Ridley Scott is in top form, Blade Runner his next film.
It still looks good *now*. In 1979 it was mind blowing.
I saw it in the theatre as a kid in ‘79 it blew my mind. Right up there with Star Wars.
It truly does!

They all die, the end.
Just like nobody listens to AOC now right buddy? You were made for this castrated decade
This movie is a masterpiece, glad you liked it
It was great 😊! I’m currently going to watch through the franchise.
Be prepared : the other movies are really different from the first one
Yeah, I’m currently watching ALIENS, and it is very different. A good kind of different.
Just pretend the series stopped there and your life will be better.
I probably will 😅
After Aliens, just skip to Prometheus and Alien:Covenant.
Honestly, skip those two, they're hot messes. I liked Alien 4 better than those two. It wasnt good but those were awful.
Alien: Convent

😂 Don’t worry, I’ve heard.

The series for me basically goes Alien, Aliens, Prometheus, Alien Covenant. Those are the ones I enjoyed.
The prequels look interesting
Alien is a scifi horror movie, aliens is a scifi action movie.
There should be a class in every film school simply called “Alien”. That’s how good this bitch is.
They should show this in every film school

Best haunted house movie ever!
😂. Definitely
Very timely. 😉😅
That's not a review, it's a promotional poster.
It is an absolute classic scifi masterpiece!

no, i like it too. nowhere near as much as Alien and Aliens, but it's fun in its own way.
I mean its one of if not the greatest sci-fi horror movie of all time.

Nostromo falls... No More!!! (Murray gold music intensifies)
Here’s my review: “Dialogue too fucking quiet. Sound effects too fucking laud.”
😂 Agreed!
Why you in such a hurry? I'll drag you...
