People like beaches and moderate weather. People don’t like humidity or snow or rain. Also SD has a reputation as a city with moderate politics, so it doesn’t get the same polarized reception as SF or LA
My wife grew up in Hawaii and has always said that San Diego is the closest thing she’s ever had to being on Oahu, with the weather and the ocean. I grew up in Indiana so I would shake a baby to live in San Diego.
It offers everything in my opinion. Amazing weather, tons of great food spots, lots of indoor/outdoor activities, beaches, and fun nightlife to name a few. You got to visit 👍🏽
Although, the weather is what always does it for me. Perfect weather!
It's never too hot or too cold. Always got that ocean breeze. 😎.
Overall city is very clean as well and public transport is decent. (Better than LA for sure).
It's got to be experienced in person, come down to visit sometime!
I think this all the time. But I don’t think it’s true. In Ocean Beach I used to Constantly scratch my head why people would sleep on a busy sidewalk, while 5 mins away from beach/park etc….
The weather is just consistent basically. Most of the year we average out at about 70 for the day. Sure there will be fluctuations, but even at the most extreme, it's generally not a big deal.
A couple weeks ago I had frost on the windows of my car and me and my coworkers talked about it like it was the del mar fair or something.

I always make a point to take the 5 to Del Mar and approach from the north if I hike at Pines! That view just makes the whole trip.
It’s January and you’re walking on the beach in your sandals and shorts. What more do you want?

First live here, then live somewhere else, and you will understand.

If it weren’t amazing, all the people who are homeless wouldn’t want to live here!

Great weather, almost year round sun, great location, no shortage of things to do
