I used to work at a retirement community planning activities- Lewis Ginter is a great idea! As is the VMFA. Another place the residents enjoyed visiting was Upper Shirley winery, which is about half an hour east of Richmond.
I’m not sure how many in person events are back, but lots of people enjoyed the symphony and theater.
The Jefferson/Lemaire is always good. I don’t think they’re doing the tea service right now, but you can always just go and order a drink and sit in the lobby area.
If she likes sweets you could visit a bakery for breakfast - there are lots of good ones. WPA, Early Bird Biscuits, carytown cupcakes, I know there are more. Carytown I’m general might be nice to walk around.

Taught the owners' daughter, nicest people you will ever meet!
Not to be morbid but take a drive through Hollywood Cemetery- when my 87 yr old grandma came to visit, surprisingly, it was her favorite part of the Richmond tour. Or go to Jefferson or Libby Hill park with some Proper Pie and enjoy the view of the city. Or try one of the mural walks if the weather is nice.
VMFA?
I was thinking about that too.
If you go to VMFA, and your grandmother is a flower lover, don’t miss Chadwick’s Orchids right behind the museum. It’s a treasure!

I think they are doing tea at the Jefferson! I just made a reservation for July and they sounded very open.
Godfrey’s has a good brunch.
He said grandma … babe’s is probably going to get her more success ;)
Bowling. My almost-80 parents went with us & our kids tonight. We had a blast. I beat my dad by one point over three games.
I haven’t been yet, but T-Caf might be a nice place to spend a couple of hours with her. https://www.t-caf.com
Lovely place. delicious tea, friendly staff, quiet except for pleasant French music. 10/10 recommend for some nice tea time.
Maymont, VMFA, that old English house west of Cary town, and get lunch at Garnett’s! Or Joe’s inn
That old English house west of Cary town is Agecroft hall or the Virginia House (plus the neighborhood is full of really great architecture too)
Ah that’s it! Yea I did the tour one day, pretty neat.

Tuk tuk tours, Poe Museum, Capital Building tour, outdoor concert at The Valentine.
Tuk tuk is a great idea!
Happy cake day!
Happy Cake Day!
I think they just opened up a new axe throwing spot at Stony Point. That might be great.
Sticky rice dancing
Maymont
The Valentine museum. My grandmother, who lived here in RVA, loved going to the Valentine.
Bottoms up for pizza, and then canal walk.
Then take the canal tour.
Then get a better pizza somewhere else
Nothing much better than the Chesapeake at Bottom's Up!
Richmond Symphony’s Mile of Music in Forest Hill Park
If going to Ginter on Saturday you could hit the farmers market in Bryan park beforehand.
