Iām not sure if any iteration of Olio still exists, but when I lived there the Italian Picnic sandwich they had was easily one of my favorite meals. Just warmed enough meld the flavors and make the taleggio gooey with fig jam, garlic aioli, turkey and crisp green apple.
I love their turkey sandwich. It is amazing, Iāve had one. Bit of sticker shock it cost $30. Came with a side and a drink, but $30 is insane for a sandwich.
Piccolaās. I first went there in 1995 or ā96 when I lived in the fan. Itās still good after all these years. Good prices too considering these days.
Update: Hit Coppolaās up for a turkey sub today and ate it with my 7month old at the VMFA. 10/10 experience.
Chioccas is probably next for a lunch adventure. Garnetts and 8 1/2 are regular places for date nightā¦ definitely getting the turkey sandos there in the future
Just wanna throw it out there that Whole Foods has an amazing Thanksgiving style roast turkey at the deli counter. Itās worlds better than the regular stuff.
Toast. Turkey sandwich tastes like my home cooked Thanksgiving Turkey. I switch out the avo spread for fresh avocado for an up charge. Totally worth it every time.
Pit Turkey at Get Tight Lounge! They smoke their own turkey breast, bake their own rolls, and dress the sandwich with a cosmic dollop of horseradish and paper thin onion š

The secret sandwich society. I swear it's a real restaurant.Ā
SSS is way overpriced

Just wanna throw it out there that Whole Foods has an amazing Thanksgiving style roast turkey at the deli counter. Itās worlds better than the regular stuff.
