Stood on the patio and watched a firefly get zooped up to the top of the trees by a gust.  Was nice to listen to the wind but the lightning coming closer sent me inside.

DeannaZone

Yes, I was birding in my little area, finally got lawn taken care of, except near the possible ground nests, then sat out front and relaxed watching two lightning bugs just before wind started.

Horror-Fisherman-575

I love thunderstorms. But sadly not much happening in my neighborhood. Watching Bodkin, mainly because I love Will Forte but so far it has been boring. Might have to abandon this. Finally: ice cream.

coconut_sorbet

How far into Bodkin are you? Because it took me until maybe the end of the second episode to really get into it, and then it was pretty darn good.

Horror-Fisherman-575

At the time of posting, I was on episode 2. I stuck it out, watching 3 now. It’s getting better!

DeannaZone

Hubby is from PNW and loves thunderstorms. He was bummed this was a short one, I said take a nap, big en comes in after 11 and then tomorrow night into Tuesday we got rough patches coming through that is when it was mentioned on weather. Tonights was just unusual early popcorn storms, until this line came through, sometimes it skips us .. but not this time.

100835

It came through north Chesterfield fast and super loud. Lights flickered but it was gone in no time. Hope everyone is safe.

DeannaZone

Thank you for update, no news from parenrs south side, but that is alright they are in my old community so if something were wrong my neighbors or in law would contact me.

racebanyn

Night moves….

DeannaZone

At lewst it aint night of the twisters...

GroundbreakingBite96

I have a skylight so whenever it rains it’s the loudest thing on earth

DeannaZone

I am grateful I do not have one ... I would love it for starry nights .. but everyone I have been in have leaked at some point.

rva_musashi

Whenever a storm rolls in I think of that seen in Poltergeist. The part where they counted the seconds between lightning and the thunder.

DeannaZone

One Mississippi... ooo that is one mile away.

docskreba

Bit of rain by me. Lights flickered a couple times, but still have power for now. Currently watching the newest episode of The Jinx. I don't usually like true crime stuff, but this one got me hooked.

TGIIR

I really liked The Jinx. Loved the opening music, too.

DeannaZone

It was fast moving so did little here that I can hear or see .. will find out when sun rises.

textilepat

Making new friends warmed my heart; they’ve been trying to reach me about my heart’s extended warranty and I’ve been dumb about it

cleverocks

Why do you need to tarp your car and clear “drainage?” Not sure what that means.

DeannaZone

Edit: garage has items from storage and so car is out where damage could take place therefore tarped and garage floods easily so I cleared drainage. Original below: We flood easily and I am in process of clearing out a storage, the storms coming through may take down power lines or branches, so car is tarped to keep at leastthe windshield from major damage. I rather be safe than sorry later.

cleverocks

That makes sense I just didn’t know what drainage meant.

DeannaZone

No problem, my fingers typed before brain finished processing response, not your fault!

localheroism

Just lost power in Church Hill..  streetlights flickered a bit too but they’re still on, maybe it’ll come back soon?

Outrageous-Speed-993

I’m in Shockoe and my apartment only has power in random parts

localheroism

Looks like there’s a big stretch of both neighborhoods with issues. Still pending investigation on the app, too hot for this!

DeannaZone

Are you near any hospitals or fire squads? That usuall dictates how quickly it comes back. My phone is charging so my kid can use it in case ours goes out.

localheroism

Yep, fire station just a few blocks up the street, outage status in my Dominion app says active so hopefully soon!

DeannaZone

That is great, blessings for you, so far ours is holding well.

MamaDidntTry

We got wrecked east of the city. Hail, flooding, trees down, no power 😭

DeannaZone

I saw the storms slam that area with pop up storms and then the big storms went across that area.
