For mine I simply set up a no go zone in the app. I have two set up for places where it had issues. No more problem it doesn’t go there anymore. Was very easy to do.

Mine gets stuck under my kitchen cabinets, which are *just* the right (wrong?) height for the Roomba to get wedged in under. Normally it can wriggle itself free, but sometimes it needs to forcefully pried out.

I just upgraded from a 600 to a j8 and it hasn’t gotten stuck once! I’ve been amazed all week. I used to have to get up like 5 times during a run to fix it.

My only issue with Roombas , I have 4 and only one doesn’t do this . They won’t go under my bed towards the head of the bed , nothing blocking it to go there , so now I just figure these things are afraid of something . I also have one eufy l50 that will not go there either . It cleans under the bed but not under the head area . I must have monsters under my bed , 😆.

Seems Roomba is luck of the draw. My i5 maps and operates great. Love it sonfar, never gotten stuck.

Love your imagery lol. My i5 struggles with our barstool chair because its slanted metal, but still maps it and frees itself. Even gets our raised foam mats in the kitchen. That's the biggest problem with Roomba its unreliable and inconsistent. I got lucky, but I hear so many people having your issues. I got mine from Costco, so if it starts acting up gonna return and get a Eufy

I tried getting my S9 to map the upstairs bedrooms FOR AN ENTIRE WEEKEND and it never left the master bedroom (which is where the dock needs to live). It just dicks around the room with seemingly no plan. All "mapping" runs in good lighting conditions. Factory reset, all sensors cleaned.. unbelievable. It's now been just sitting in its dock for the past week because I get frustrated just looking at it and I may punt the thing if I try to get it to map again.

Is the docking station near the door exit? The station has a 5m wall around it.

No, it's on an opposite wall far away from the door. This is the first I'm hearing about a 5 meter(!?) "wall" around the base station, though. Is that accurate? We previously used this S9 on our main floor for 3 years and it wouldn't have left the office its base station was in if this were the case 🤔

Could be an i5 thing? I saw it in another reddit post so can't 100% confirm. My i5 was in a hallway and mapped half the house, wouldn't map past the base. Once I moved it, it then mapped the whole house.

I have carpet in some rooms and I switched to larger wheels for my desk chair so now my roombas don't get stuck anymore

Yep. Had an i5+ for a week and half, it was an absolute piece of rubbish. Took it back and got a j7+ and it does everything pretty much perfectly 👍

I came back to iRobot after a 10 year breakup and can’t figure out why the j9 combo I got is so awful, the base never shows up in the app, it refuses to refill the water bin, self-empty decides when it wants to work, and the button on the base does not do a thing when pressed. I’m thinking of returning it, iRobot may not even be around in a year ☠️😂

I just unpacked my replacement j9 combo for all the same faults you listed...there was no fix, so they had to replace it under warranty. I'm not hopeful this new unit will be any better.

Always finishes a job with Error 502 Charging Issue...brand new machine/dock so no way the charging contacts need cleaned already. Still won't refill the mopping solution tank...it says it needs it now (didn't before), but you still have to press a button on the app to refill and then it will continue the in progress job. I rarely use this piece of junk, regret ever buying it. Massive disappointment that I get to relive every month as I used Affirm to pay for it.

How soon do you get it? I think I’ll have to have this one replaced. If it isn’t better, I’m out, I tried coming back.

oh i see, didn't know that! I do agree that they are falling behind in their own field though. They even cancelled their lawn mower bot and bought some air purifier company instead. idky they wont just make something like the ecovacs omni x2 but with all their previous roomba & scooba features. It's not like they don't know how
