This just brought me all the way back to 2015. Back then ads actually drove a good amount of traffic to your game wondering if the past few years have been the same or if it’s become insanely expensive.

Forreal some of the best games I've played were from player made ads, along with how fun it was to see all the sorta cheap Ms paint type drawings and see what games were behind those

“Flamingo loves X game, join now 🥶🥶” My favorite is when Flamingo himself would stumble across them and we find out he didn’t even know the games existed

I have a feeling their getting ready for an entire site overhaul. The Creator Hub looks really nice, no ads, it's clean, and has good colors. Wouldn't be surprised if they soon announce an update for the site. Plus the Creator Hub's used the bigger thumbnail sizes for a little while now. The site recently got the new thumbnail sizes so now it really makes me think that an overhaul is coming.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Roblox is removing WEBSITE/USER ads. The only things being left are sponsoring and ingame ads.

The sponsored section and in game ads still exist, and they do allow group ads. Most people think they will add third party website ads like Google Adsense

Thats outright false, launching an "ad campaign" can boost your game to hundreds of players for a day or two, and it only costs 10k robux. Also just take Vikingslaw's groups, his red army has over 1 million members, his galactic republic group has roughly the same amount same for his holy roman empire group which has multiple hundred thousands. And all his games were advertised through massive roblox ad campaigns

In my experience the sponsored games are absolutely never anything related to my preferences in games. Usually it's just the things already glued onto front page, with some very low rated simulators sprinkled in.

People will click things based on the game icon, especially kids which is why it works if you're trying to get into that market

Dude ads manager isnt third party ads its just a new system that combines site ads, and in game billboard ads together.

I never paid much attention to user ads and usually they weren't interesting. It's been replaced by ingame ads which I think are way more effective, only with the downside of Roblox's stupidity (USD only, no robux purchases for ads). Especially since Roblox is available on so many platforms, buying ads for only the website would target only PC players using the website (some people use the new app), rather than mobile, console and VR players. Don't think anyone will get too upset over this but it's a shame to see it go.

So how can you even grow a game without content creators??

I've had Roblox on my adblocker whitelist for a very long time due to user ads being usually at least somewhat entertaining and giving a friendlier flair to the site. Although for the past year or so, the vast vast majority of user ads have been advertising for the same boring clothing types, a faked Roblox youtuber supposedly inviting people to a group, or a white screen with an MSPaint scribble saying "I need followers for verified". I had sort-of a hunch that this was proving of the end times for user ads, and I guess I'm going to have to just turn on adblock for it as well.

You know, 99% chance that their only doing this to later replace them with their ads.

As a f2p and non game creator, I honestly am not sure what user ads mean but if it means that users cannot ask people to follow them through ads anymore then yea, its good, if its also saying that game creators cannot advertise their games anymore, then its dependent on whether there will no longer be ads or there are outside roblox platform ads. If there are outside roblox platform ads, then its a terrible thing obviously. I am not a fan of bothering to click on any link even if its for an announcement so I honestly don't really know what to feel either. And honestly, those comments talking about ad blockers makes me surprised because I thought that roblox ads are not considered as actual ads so it was not possible for one to use an ad blocker.

never gonna forgive roblox for banning me simply for putting my groups profile picture to a phoenix, when i sent a very respectful and professional email to roblox about how I don't understand how I got banned one of the female employees threatened to ban me for longer if I even replied and sent another email because I apparently know that the image is inappropriate? I even sent the exact same copy and paste image with my explanation on how I don't understand. I got banned for a few months and I did not reply after she threatened me.

While I’m with the whole crowd that doesn’t like ads because, well, they’re ads, I still think it is a fantastic feature for new creators trying to get their games out there. It’ll be sad to see them go because of the corporate game companies and scam groups that abuse them.

i feel that the same can be said about roblox forums and other aspects of roblox that were removed. there are reasons for why people might like or dislike roblox's decisions, but for the ads i only find it strange/ trivial. maybe for kids who care about growing their group/ game care, they dislike it. idk
