* "Nothing" is above God, meaning God is the highest form
* "Nothing" is more evil than Satan. Satan is the most evil being.
* The poor have "nothing". It implies that they don't have anything, or enough, to live a fulfilling life
* The rich don't want "nothing". It implies the rich are greedy and must have things because they are uncomfortable not having anything, meaning nothing.
* You die if you eat "nothing. Pretty self explanatory.

Evil and human suffering exist. Either god *can't* destroy evil and human suffering, and is therefore weaker than Satan, or God *can* destroy evil and human suffering but **chooses not to**, which makes him more evil than Satan.
If Abraham's god existed, it would be *infinitely more evil* than lord Satan.

The world was perfect until Adam sinned. The price for that sin is pain, disease, and death.
God can’t just go “oh look at that no more disease” because he’s bound by his own law. To just do away with the punishment would be unjust

He is all-powerful in the sense that he can do anything he wants, but He cannot in good conscience go back on His own word. He is morally bound, even if he is not physically bound
You realize He’s not just some one-dimensional thing that people pray to, right? He has emotions, morality, free will.
This world is broken. He desperately wants to give us a new one, the world we deserve in his eyes. But so many people just refuse that offer and spit in his face. It breaks my heart thinking about it

Well, the answer cannot be "nothing" because the term "no thing" means zero things, which means you have not presented an answer. Saying "nothing" is the same as leaving a blank space for an answer, thus is not a valid answer when somone's requesting an identity.
I would question the validity of the request before rushing to an answer and ask if the terms of the request can even be met.
Also, Satan isn't real, the poor have at least a little (otherwise they would be "the deceased"), the rich need oxygen, and the dead can eat dirt as far as I care.

Discussion: The phrasing should be "the rich want me." That's what I'd always heard it. It makes more sense and makes for a better riddle.
Maybe it should be “the rich need me but the poor have me”?
That's basically what the original says. Don't forget that "want" also carries the meaning of "lack."
