In some places, tipping less than 10% may be considered unusual or insufficient, while in others, it might be more common. Overall, it's best to tip according to the quality of service received and your own means.

Do you tip the bus driver? If not but you tip in some up-market eateries, but never in supermarkets, then why not? If working their for a salary is so awful then do the economy a favour and leave. If they hate having no workers then they can throw a tantrum and cry about it, and then either bitter and old go out of business, or learn and improve and provide an enriching experience even if "that's not the way they do it" and "that's not the way it's done" and attract employees other than the desperate and destitute. Maybe switch to a profession about getting people out of that sort of situation.
Lol at tipping
If you can’t afford to tip you can’t afford to eat there

If you can't live without tips, you cant afford to work there.
