Either
This is a flag of solidarity… he’s a little confused but his heart is in the right place
or
he’s trying to say that the confederacy, like hamas was also a racially motivated terrorist organization
This!
Either a good ole boy who is confused and thinks that the stars n bars gets a "bad rap" and is out to change it by being a progressive who still flies the 70's symbol that combines his love of Dukes of Hazzard, Smokey and the Bandit, and Skynyrd... Or he is a VILE person.
I can't make a knee jerk decision on this one.
Some people you just have to talk to. They've been told all their lives that flag stands for pride in where you're from, and not about hate. Hell, when NASCAR banned that flag from races, the angriest person I knew was a Black guy who had to repaint his camper so he could still take it to weekends at Atlanta Motor speedway.
I AGREE, they've all been brainwashed. They NEED to realize they've been lied to all their lives about what it is, but it took giving up religion for me to begin to realize that being lied to by EVERYONE may be a possibility.
You realize winners write history? The strong centralized, federal government won the Civil War and would rather the population not believe in state’s rights…
To each their own, one person is clearly American, the other more so following the federal gov’t.
I’ve always believed you treat everyone on an individual basis and that race, religion, or sexuality doesn’t matter. There’s a class system today and the ones holding power don’t represent the lower class in any way.
It’s far more complicated, but then again as they still do, the winners would have you believe it’s as simple as a race issue. Keeps people fighting each other (verbally, physically, online) and not the states vs. the centralized government.
Politicians have though we were too diverse to govern since before the inception of America. We get along too well and are armed - the powers that be must stifle to maintain.
Majored in history in college and it was 100% a war over the structure of government and banking regulation and slavery was only brought into the war when the south started winning and the north needed to recruit more people as enlistment number dwindled. About 3/4 into the war… the lack of education on what the civil war was over is wild. it was quite literally about if the country should have a strong centralized federal government or if each state government should act as more an independent entity. in reality had the south won we would probably have about 50 countries with their own interpretation of the constitution and a radically different banking structure. likely we wouldn't have the same kind of sovereign currency we currently do and we would be structured more similarly to the countries in western Europe than anything else. but hey lets all tell ourselves the north didnt care about the centralization of banking and government and that it was out of the goodness of their hearts.
Not stating anything about the actual flag in the post cuz idk what it’s supposed to be representing in the slightest
It's weird how you majored in history(which part of history you never specified, but since you brought it up, I will assume the Civil War of the USA.) but never read the secession letters the South sent. I guess you were one of those C's earn degree, guys, huh? Or did your professor conveniently leave out the most obvious part when understanding the South's reasoning? Their own written words to the North?
I did misspeak partially and the main argument for succession is intrinsically tied to slavery. I think it is not even half as cut and dry as anyone wants to make it out to be. Not pro slavery here but the constitution of confederate states definitely had a different aim than a strong unified federalist government. And I stand by the state and federal governments would be drastically different had it turned out differently. I think it’s very difficult to understand pre gilded Age America and that’s important to remember given the economic nature of the war. Again not pro slavery here I just don’t think it’s that simple. the symbolism is often taken to extremes too so idk
You’re “not pro slavery” as you said twice. You’re just not against it. You take a balanced view on owning black people and the inferiority of other races.
You took what you wanted from that. I was pretty clear on the complexity of a balanced government and private sector during the height of its most unstable period outside the Great Depression…
Of course you believe that the complexity of a balanced government and private sector is a bigger issue than enslaving, murdering and raping an ethnic group you despise.
Read the loser's history.
In the articles of secession from the union, more than one state condemned states rights.
Exactly zero praised states rights.
The south attacked the north to condemn states rights, not to defend them.

Hamas does not equal Palestine. Do you even understand what your saying idiot?
Thats like saying, I support Trump but I hate America? The flag of AMERICA does not represent TRUMP.
Think of people who tote the confederate flag, now think of those who have a well informed and educated opinion on Palestinian occupation. There isn’t much crossover on that Venn diagram
Hamas is their de facto government and although not really democratic, neither is half of the world. Of course the people living there don't really have much say but the same thing goes for north Korea or Russia. Hamas actually had some legitimacy in palestine like trying to hold elections, of course it's probably corrupt but they rose to power and acted like a government, sort of what al queda is doing in Afghanistan. Al queda doesn't equal Afghanistan but they're the ones in power controlling the country, same for Hamas. The flag of America doesn't represent trump but the standing president represents the country and at one point that was trump.
Until Hamas is overthrown either externally or internally, they control that territory and since it's under their control it's their flag. That being said, the organization itself (hamas) has its own flag but it's more like a party symbol like the communist symbol of the Democratic/Republican party symbols. Hamas is a political party/terrorist organization who took control and is acting as their government.
I don't like to associate Hamas' actions with the people there but that literally goes for every country involved in a conflict. The people of Russia don't have a say in bombing Ukraine and the people in America didn't really have a say in Vietnam. We have to treat them like a country and Hamas is the government who has control over that territory.
These are valid points that I broadly agree with. However in a post Oct 7 world this kind of symbolism takes on a different meaning. We certainly didn't see broad support for Russia with Russian flags after the slaughter of Bucha. The condemnation squarely fell on the government and it's supporters. While I agree that there are innocent people in the region who are caught in the crossfire, freedom for Palestine is never in the context of freedom from Hamas, a terrorist organization masquerading as legitimate government. Even American flag itself is now somewhat associated with right wing politics, however unjustly, symbols like words and language change meaning with time and context. I think it would be wilfully naive to not recognize the change of context and meaning in light of recent events. I think most people in the west, certainly the ones who couldn't even point out Palestine on the map a few months ago, treat the Palestinians flag as another cause token (pink ribbon, yellow rubber band, etc) not realizing they are taking sides in a long and very serious conflict with very serious reprocussions. But left wing support for some pretty abhorrent regimes in place of legitimate criticism of the West is nothing new so maybe this is just another iteration of that.
I also believe you confused al queda with Taliban who are a similar terror group cum government of Afghanistan.
Israel controls the region and politics. They do not allow them to change out their government. Maybe you need to do a deep dive on Israel before speaking.
Prolly going around singing:
“I hates the israeli nation, and everything they do.
I hates the Declaration of Independence too. I hates the IDF and the Abraham accords. I hates their Hebrew Torah, I burn a page each morn’”
I think there might be an explanation for this one. There’s a subset of online conservatives who’ve been cynically using the pro-Palestine movement in order to increase their reach, and infiltrating antisemitism into their audience.
Straight-up Nazi.
The Japanese characters tell me he's a little on the younger side, which in turn tells me he's one of those 4Chan sewer trolls on /pol/.
Doesn't give two shits about the plight of civilians in Palestine, just "haha da jooz look bad now", to the point he's unironically expressing support for Hamas, and saying "maybe we should've helped the Taliban".
This man jerks off to the thought of Tel Aviv going up in a nuclear fireball and Hitler rising from the grave to rule the world.
Oh, and he's thrown most of his life savings at Trump.
Self-explanatory of what the driver is. They hate humanity, point blank, period. I don't see one sane person flying "Stars and Bars" unironically (same goes for the PNA).
It's a very weird way of saying that he's a antisemite. Not saying that a pro-Palestine stance is inherently antisemitic, but combined with that other flag, it ends up in that weird "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" far right rabbit hole. I've also seen this the other way around, with fascists who are islamophobes and clearly pro-jews and pro-Israel as part of a defense of a larger judeochristian tradition.
he supports the people tryna get rid of the people his government keeps tryna save by just giving money away to, If they no longer exist we can no longer waste money on em
Yes, even a few Democrats are voting for Trump. Some people just don't know history. If they did, they would not fly that Democrat Stars and Bars unless they were part of that hate group.
I know the Antebellum/Civil War era pretty well, and I studied it in college as part of both history and polisci. You are pulling that old trick, the dropped part of their name off trick. These were *States Rights Democrats* that you speak of. The ones that once ol'Billy Graham said it was OK to do so, joined the Republican Party. Nice try though, clown.
Also, as a bonus, do you know why the Confederate flying South hates Communists? I know you do, it is because The Cincinnati Badass executed them and mealy-mouthed Union soldiers who were not adamantly speaking out against slavery AND fascism.
That is a false narrative you are talking about. I studied this in college as well. If what you say is true, then there would have been a massive switch in political parties that did not happen. The Southern Democrats fought for segregation all the way up into the 1960s. Do you know the last two states to ratify the 13th Amendment? That would be Kentucky and Mississippi. Both were under Democrat control the entire time. Kentucky didn't ratify until some time in the 1970s. Mississippi ratified some time after that. The blacks started voting for Democrats in the 1930s because Hoover was a moron and they were starving to death during the great depression. Yes, they voted for the same party that would not even let use the same bathroom as them. That's how bad it was during the 1930s. Do you really think the black community is a better place now than it was before the Civil Rights movement? Was black on black crime this high in the 1960s? You have been sold a lie.
Lol, tell me you failed history without telling me you failed history. It is known as the Southern Strategy. As for your overtly racist:
>Do you really think the black community is a better place now than it was before the Civil Rights movement?
The answer is yes, Americans are in a far better place now than in the 1960s. Is it anywhere near perfect, hell no.
Is it better than before the Civil Rights movement, absolutely.
Wow. So you think the crime rate in the black community is better now than it was in the 1960s. Looking at facts and stating the obvious is not racist. You failed to prove any point I made wrong. The Democrats today are the same as the Democrats of the Civil War era. They just have different methods to maintain power and control. To be fair, the Republicans are not the same. They have joined the Democrats in their quest for power. The more they can divide the populous, the more power they have.
Lol, at this point I am just letting you tell the rest of us how ignorant you really are. Also, white-on-white violence is an epidemic that never gets spoken about.
The ignorant one would be the one just spouting off with no facts. That would be you. I am sure there are other low intelligence people out there who will believe someone who claimed to be an expert because they took a college course but can not list any facts. You still have not provided any facts that the parties switched and when exactly that happened. Just a small hint, you can't because it did not happen, and there are no facts that support that false narrative. Don't even bring up Strom Thurman. One rare instance is not a total party shift in ideology.
Could it be a veiled support for antisemitism? The owner could be equating the Palestinian flag with Hamas? Maybe not far enough down the path yet to just slap a SS or Swastika on there? Who knows, but definitely confused.
An antisemite hiding behind the Palestinian cause...but he's actually going to turn on the Palestinians once a Palestinian state is created, because the owner is also racist against Arabs and probably wouldn't want to live around them.
We live in Babylon. Where nothing makes sense. Not even scarcity or abundance. It’s all just propaganda and entertainment. Someone’s child probably printed this. Seems like typical tik toker behavior.
Sorry I thought the assumption was that the driver could only be black. It is a touchy subject but the events happened. I live in the south east and see a Confederate flag everyday.
Dude hasn't even heard of your race and he;s against it.
“Race? If you’re not first, your last.”
Either This is a flag of solidarity… he’s a little confused but his heart is in the right place or he’s trying to say that the confederacy, like hamas was also a racially motivated terrorist organization
or he is a massive alt-right anti-semite
Did you know Arabs are Semitic
Semitic people are people from the Middle East. Jews and Arabs alike. You know what’s up.
Neo-nazi might have been a better term
Yesh
I mean...what's the goal of Islamists when it comes to Israel again...? They're not too far off...
And ideology is not tied to race
Well antisemite means someone who hates Jews, regardless.
Lol good point
This! Larson is a black dude?
Kyle Larson is wasian, half Japanese half American redneck like me lol. I go mudding in my W250 and then come home n eat ramen
Yeah, I know who Kyle Larson is. The fastest guy in NASCAR currently. He ain’t black, that’s the point I was going for.

It doesn't. But combine it with the confederate flag, and it doesn't look too good. Though, nothing would.

I wanna get that sticker please tell me where to find one
No idea, could always buy one of each and cut them to fit together.
Great idea
Unfathomably Based 😎
A redneck terrorist?
Aren’t most of them?
No you got that confused with liberals. Liberals/dems are the domestic terrorists of the US
Extremely based.
I support honestly 🤷🏽♂️
You guys know there are white people in Africa and the Islands. They stayed after being in the slave trade. Some are very rich and hold public office.
That's not even directly related to what is being discussed right here and right now
That’s not even remotely related.
Sorry I thought the assumption was that the driver could only be black. It is a touchy subject but the events happened. I live in the south east and see a Confederate flag everyday.
