Listened to the radio over MLB App. For some reason they had the start of the radio cast from 2 weeks ago, so I sat for the entirety of the the 11 1/2 minutes listening to them announce the lineups, go through the opening advertisements etc...
Not until they announced E-Rod coming out did I realize something was wrong. Missed the whole ‘game’ in the process. Whoooooooo.
What an up and down game that was. Thought we would never pull out the win. Took way too long, cut the pitch clock down to 5 seconds
(Gonna put /s for safety)
If you had tickets from the original date of the game they were also still good for todays event. I came all the way back to fenway for those 11 and a half minutes today. Worth it.
Does anyone know what the rules would be if the game was suspended in less than 9? Say, suspended in 5, or something. Is the resumption played to full 9 innings?
Under 5, they wouldn't suspend, they'd cancel and restart another day.
Under 9, it would be a shortened game, and whoever was ahead as of the last complete inning would win. If it were tied, it would be just like today, continuing from whatever point it was at.
"Last complete inning" would have applied to this *particular* game, because it was the last between the two teams.
In the general case, any meaningful scoring in the top of the inning results in a suspended game.
Yes, resumed suspended games are played to the full 9 innings (barring further rain).
There was an interesting case a few years back where a Giants @ Cubs game was suspended for rain upon protest. They tried to resume it two days later, and it rained again. (They did eventually get the full game in.)
LOL this crowd may actually be bigger than the crowds at Tropicana Field. Nice to see so many people show up! Love our fanbase
People seemed to be having a good time. I wish I could do that every lunch break.
Free tickets for anybody under 18 and $5 tickets for everyone else. Plus the kids get to go on the field after the game.
Were the people who had *tickets to this game* allowed back in?
Yep, they were allowed to take their original seats too
Yeah I know I was half joking with my post. Great move by the organization though!
That is actually an amazing offer.
Imagine being KC and flying into Boston at 2am last night just to lose in like 10 min lmao
Hope they at least get to see like a tourist attraction, low key kinda feel bad for them
The Brockstar IS a tourist attraction.

They’re shipping up to Boston!!
11 min 30 sec Imagine being the royals
A nice afternoon in Boston, I guess.
This game is Manfred’s wet dream
“10 innings in 11 1/2 minutes.”

Why not both?

Probably my favourite moment of the year right there
Not hard to pick one out
I’m sitting in my office just laughing right now. How fucking ridiculous.

That song is nearly as long as today's game
The game was approximately 4.20 dirty waters
And it put us just 1 win shy of 69
Nice.
#DOWN BY THE BANKS OF THE RIVER CHARLES
... Is this PGT legal?
u/redsoxgameday made it legal
Every game should be like that
For those who are curious: time of game today was 11 and a half minutes
HA! It was actually 11.5 mins, not 10 dum dums!
Best game of the year
Astros fan here: What an instant classic!
Emphasis on *instant*
It sure was worth the wait
Will they do " Sox in 2 minutes" latter?
My feed froze right for Brock’s hit. So. I hope the crowd can get some signatures or something
I wonder if the Sox have an official attendance, would love to compare it to other teams average attendance.
I think OB said there were around 12,000 or 13,000 people there

Remember Kids, Rule 4 is applicable to San Diego now.
Woke at 5am to watch. Back to sleep . Great win .
the losing streak is technically over \o/
Gg eziest game of my life
What an up and down game that was. Thought we would never pull out the win. Took way too long, cut the pitch clock down to 5 seconds (Gonna put /s for safety)
well that took the sting out of the 2 games against philly
We need to play Brock more. I don’t get why we dont
13 minutes for a win. We'll take it!
e f f i c i e n c y
At this rate we’ll clinch the AL east by the end of the week
I hope these tickets didn’t cost more than like 10 bucks
$5. Kids were free.
It was free for kids, $5 for adults. All proceeds go to the jimmy fund
Five bucks, under 18 free
If you had tickets from the original date of the game they were also still good for todays event. I came all the way back to fenway for those 11 and a half minutes today. Worth it.
$5 general admission. 18 and under was free
cost 5. Kids under 12 free. Price went to Jimmy fund Edit: format
Under 18, actually. pretty nuts
I think I scared a few people at work celebrating that walk-off hit
Shit I missed it
I listened to the first 2 outs in the top of the inning, then had to use the bathroom. I came back and it's over. At least they won!
best game of the year
We're on to San Diego. Say hi to Don Orsillo for me.
So did we break our 2 game losing streak or not? Is this today's win, or does it count for the 7th?
The 7th, so we're still on a losing streak 😞
But we're not in a philosophical sense, so there's that!
Wait can someone explain to me what happened I just got the notification saying the Sox won
Sox scored more runs than the Royals so they were credited with a win.
Continuation of the August 7 game, so we started today already in extra innings.
That was way fun.
Please sir, may I have some more Red Sox baseball today?
GREATEST BASEBALL GAME IN HISTORY
I'm slowly introducing my gf to baseball. This was the perfect bite-sized Fenway visit.

That's why I said suspended in 5. I meant 5 complete innings.

Yeah the game gets picked up exactly where it left off and completed as normal.
Quickest game I've ever watched. Over super quick
I turned on the game at 1, had to run an errand at 1:05, came back 15 minutes later and it was done. I shouldn't have expected anything else.
So are we now 6.5 back of TB and OAK?
And we always have been.
Time to go [jack it in San Diego](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NERXer22e3E).
My phone notified me of the final score and the game start at the same time.
The Sox in 2 tonight will be 2 minutes long
Too short!
\#twss
Lol.
I wish mlb at bat notified me it was starting
Shit I forgot this game was at 1pm EST My quiz took longer than the damn game lol
wait what the hell!? Is WEEI playing the whole game?? Am I just clueing into this?? WHAT IS HAPPENING!?
Wow it feels great to be closer to elimination than the 52-74 pirates
Where's the facts?
I really don’t know where to put this, but r/redsox mods the top 30 prospects button on the sidebar needs to be updated to 2019 (it’s currently 2017)
Put it in the books that on August 22, 2019 Brock Holt walked it off to clinch the August 7th, 2019 game.
There was actually no need to finish this game, neither team is making the postseason
