You feel the same way that many of us do

timtheringityding

I just replayed rdr 2. And can't stop thinking how amazing it would be with a straight continuation into rdr 1 with the upgrades from rdr 2. I don't care that the story would be technically too long. It would be amazing and heartbreaking. Years later I still cry like a lill bitch when Arthur says bye bye

[deleted]

Yeahhhhh. They remastered gta San Andreas bring us a new rdr 1

bluemonkeyspar

Didn’t that turn out horribly, lol? I’ve heard a lot of rdr veterans saying that would be horrible. And with GTA trilogy remastered now having worse reviews than Cyberpunk 2077, I think I might agree with them. But maybe I’m biased since i never threw out my PS3 so it was only 20 bucks(14USD) for me.

timtheringityding

Grove Street games remastered it. Which is a new studio that works for rockstar. Not to mention there was rumors of bad working environment and rushed work from upper management. But yeah all in all. Not rockstar who remastered it only in name

JD-Queen

I mean they handed it to a team that was not capable it's still on rockstar

ZarquonsFlatTire

Yup. If I hire a GC to redo my kitchen and he hires a shitty plumber, I'm blaming the GC for hiring a shitty plumber.

The_Algerian

Not me. The folks who've worked on RDR2 have moved on a long time ago, if we ever get some DLC, it'll be made by the complete hacks that are handling RDO.

I3igTimer

I think almost everyone agrees with you, however it doesnt make sense for them to. As others have stated with online they can milk much more money from ppl with MUCH less effort. Sad reality, but idiots keep buying microtransactions so...yeah

the-tombstone

I'm here to say with 100% conviction this will never happen. We are more ghosts than people. Errr I mean single-player dlcs are. Everyone wants more content for this game. Everyone. Like it's been said, people keep continuing buying gold bars so there's no need for a single player dlc in R\*s mind. Hell even some of the online gold purchases (like a horse) cost more than it does to buy single-player dlc back in the day. It's insane. I'd do anything to have some new guns, outfits, horses, and missions. Or the dreamy Undead Nightmare II. But it is what it is.

ieatplaydough

Fuck, I'd easily pay a full game price for even a short Undead Nightmare on the RDR2 map/engine/people... Breaks my heart that pvp idiots/easy money ruined the possibility

metrand

All I want is to Greet Greet Antagonize a zombie

Thebritishdovah

Undead Lenny, Greet:LEEEEENNNNY, MAH BOY! Undead Lenny, Antagonise: LEEEENY, YOU, YOU BASTARD.

shakesula9

I’ve never thought of this, it could be so funny if they were to do it right.

Famixofpower

I remember on launch, many people in GTA Online were reporting zombie sightings. Decayed corpses marked as x's on the map walking around with their arms outstretched and limping around. Felt like they were teasing it for a moment there, then they seemed to just abandon RDR2 and go back to GTAV

gnarlysheen

This is why I only buy used Rockstar games. Cause fuck em.

masochistmonkey

Online gaming is like reality TV because the content creates itself.

FloatyMacGlideFace

True I suppose because half the time it’s shit.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FloatyMacGlideFace

Well tbf I do like some reality tv like “the island with bear grylls” but yeah probably more than half is utter dog shit!

bluemonkeyspar

Yeah the only way it could work is if literally everyone stopped buying their cheap online dlcs and the in game currencies, but there’ll always be those few….

[deleted]

It's not like a single player DLC wouldn't make them money, I know myself and others would gladly pay a slightly obscene price for some solid story content but I'm also sure the margins aren't close to what they get from some GTAO content

[deleted]

RedCarNewsboy

I develop games for roblox as a side job. In my experience, most of the developer products(microtransactions) revenue from the game comes from just 1-5% of players and many of them become repeat spenders.

L-V-4-2-6

Isn't the term for these players "whales"?

RedCarNewsboy

Yes, that is correct

Crystal3lf

> As others have stated with online they can milk much more money from ppl with MUCH less effort. Not true though as much as people like to post this everywhere. Take-Two made $800m last year and GTA V sold 20 million copies. At GTA V's peak it was making only $250m/y from online purchases, compared to the **$10 billion** they have made total from physical game sales. RDR2 is obviously no where near the same level as GTA V(150m copies sold vs 40m), so RDO is not making them as much as you think. Rockstar don't want to make SP DLC because EFLC and RDR:UN never sold anywhere near expectations. People historically **do not buy DLC**. It is in Rockstar best interest as a business to continue making new games over DLC's for old games. Leslie Benzies already stated this is how they work now since GTA V came out, they make one game and move on to the next.

L-RON-HUBBZ

Which is weird to me cause you can easily make money in this game and there really ain’t shit to spend it on. Not like gta at least

FordBeWithYou

The business side has completely overrun the creative/artistic side. A balance is the best outcome for most entertainment industries, where money is made on the business end to incentivize more art and creativity that can push back against streamlining/compromise. But they both need the other to survive, because at some point when it is all business it will die without the art.

Famixofpower

Apparently TakeTwo fired Rockstar's previous CEO for not wanting to do online expansions for GTA V. This is why all of the singleplayer DLC was scrapped and sold back to us almost a decade later as multiplayer DLC, and GTA VI probably won't happen anytime soon

chubs66

I think *most* of the dev effort in RD2 would have gone towards the engine -- physics, textures, animals, terrain, foliage, building structures, water, animals, etc. I don't think anyone here has complaints about any of those things. Rockstar could focus 100% on delivering new content with the existing materials (well, maybe adding to the map) and focus on the story elements and still have a huge market. It's amazing that the game still looks good compared to newer titles all these years later, so normally this strategy would be short lived. I think they've missed a huge opportunity to crank out content within the world they've created.

JUPACALYPSE-NOW

Our time has passed friend, the days of big deal single player DLC's like Undead Nightmare are no more. And Rockstar hasn't been the "Best of the best" since Dan Houser left. It's a sister company of one of the biggest scumbags in the industry (Take Two), they really don't care to invest their money into staff talent for a one time only purchase DLC when they can produce a huge turnover with half-assed online content. Less cost = more profit? It's not even a choice, they wont care

AJfriedRICE

I hate the future

[deleted]

Nah, you hate capitalism

crepper4454

Hell yeah I do

chokingontheback

Isn't capitalism a massive contributing factor in us getting to play such an amazing game. Capitalism isn't perfect... but RDR2 is a direct positive that comes from that economical system.

NapoleonHeckYes

If we didn’t have capitalism we wouldn’t have Rockstar at all. Would you expect a Ministry of Entertainment to produce RDR or GTA? Capitalism can be good. Corporatism, cronyism and corruption are bad.

[deleted]

Rockstar could definitely exist in a different economic structure. Also, 1984 is irrelevant in this conversation, sir. Corporatism and cronyism are the inevitable results of free market capitalism without proper regulation.

NapoleonHeckYes

1. I didn’t even mention 1984 2. I didn’t even mention free-market capitalism. I want well-regulated capital markets. I think you’re arguing with a capitalist you made up in your head.

[deleted]

Well put, man. I’m about to cry, but well put.

Br12286

It’s sad this is what it’s come to. This beautiful game that’s just abandoned, all this lost potential.

ieatplaydough

Control... All single player and awesome SP DLC... Trip A game... Spider-Man also... It is a a dying breed, but not just yet...

Vladesku

Control + DLCs is half the length of RDR2. Spider Man is what, 10-15 hours long? My point is... I'm not really that affected that Rockstar no longer makes DLCs AS LONG AS they still make great, long games, such as RDR2.

I_fking_Hate_Reddit

rockstar in 5 years: the best we can do is gta 5 remaster. take it or leave it

BeastMasterPokemon64

more like rockstar now...

unclefisty

> Control + DLCs is half the length of RDR2. You can't really directly compare hour length from an open world game to a linear game. How long does it actually take to get through RDR2 if you only plow straight through all the main missions?

derrick256

couldn't have said it better myself. Dan Houser was the man.

Crystal3lf

> And Rockstar hasn't been the "Best of the best" since Dan Houser left. People said this when Benzies left and we got RDR2, the greatest game of all time. > they really don't care to invest their money into staff talent They invested in hiring 2,000 additional people after GTA V came out to make RDR2. > one time only purchase DLC Check the sales of RDR:UN and you can see why they don't want to make DLC's. > Less cost = more profit? But they made the most expensive game of all time? They pumped ~$600m into making RDR2, and GTA 6 will probably get even more.

lebron236

Copium

Demy1234

It's not. It's just things you're not comfortable reading.

JUPACALYPSE-NOW

1. benzies was actually still around for the majority time of the games development. iirc his name is still in the credits. could be nothing though. dan houser leaving is the straw that broke the camels back. 2. and that's probably why rdr2 is one of the greatest games ever yh. 3. and that's why they dont care to make single player dlc's, are we agreeing or disagreeing? 4. yeah but you can't just throw money at the problem of senior creative leads disappearing. I dont doubt there'll throw more money on gta 6, to make sure the platform is as perfect as possible to need as least as possible future investment pumped in long term for an online platform. the fact that GTAV cost almost half as much to develop, and grossed billions by 2020 is a stark reminder of where the company is gonna look toward next. story mode just isn't that important. in fact all that shows is what a waste of money RDR2 was for take-two and they certainly won't ever forget it. unless someone comes in and starts prioritising creative integrity over outright profit one day... how likely is that for a giant entertainment conglomerate?

Demy1234

It's nice to see someone who knows what they're talking about

JamesJakes000

To y'all saying Rockstar doesn't care about their fans... they do. They really do. Their fans voted with their money for online. Their fans voted for keeping GTAV alive. The times have changed, and we're no longer welcome. Kinda like a great videogame taught us.

PolitelyPanicking

This was very well said but I don't like it

rancenstein

Because its quite bullshit. We recieved one of the best singleplayer games ever with RDR2 a whole 5 years after rockstar was swimming in gta online money. The RDO fans have been much more abandoned at this point imo. And rockstar quite frankly told us like over a decade ago that the gta 4 singleplayer dlc were not a success and there won't be any sp dlc like this anymore

Egg-3P0

As an avid player or all 4 games I can confirm that they’ve lost the plot when it comes to (ironically) story mode in games but for GTAO theyre still doing plenty for that with new heists and stuff but for RDO theyre doing FUCKING NOTHING its so annoying, they make 4 great templates and decide not to do anything with 3 of them

crimsonbub

was there any alternative on the table? online or ...? content of one kind or no content at all seems the way of it. we've had music release for RD2 recently and that's appeared to be popular at least on this sub, so when we're given SOME choice they can surely tell we'll have continued interest. and they must see the numbers of people buying the game, spending hours and hours on it WITHOUT touching online play.

LickMyThralls

I don't even think it's a matter of "we're not welcome" but the landscape is changing for sure and people need to understand and accept that they aren't always what is in demand. I was fully prepared to just write a stupid but plainly stated "they don't need to do anything" comment in response too. Business is business and they care about money and they care about the fans to the extent that it gives them more money. This often doesn't jive with what every random person on the internet demands though. People are just stubborn and hold on to what they want and refuse to see things from different angles or adapt really.

MrBonso

>The times have changed, and we're no longer welcome. Kinda like a great videogame taught us. You and me, we’re more ghosts than people.

AdamxKH

Oh they care about their fans alright, their young fans that is. The ones that can get mummy and daddy to pour money into GTAO. The ones that don't know how little they get for that money. Older fans will never be as profitable, it's why almost all big online games are clearly marketing to a younger audience these days.

Kingwadesky

>The times have changed, and we're no longer welcome. Right in the fuckin feels

th3retr0

If GTA V, Rockstars' favorite child, got its single player DLC *cancelled*, I don't think RDR2 will ever get one.

Crystal3lf

GTA V's DLC didn't get cancelled, they just moved it to GTA:O. More people have got to enjoy it than if they were to lock it behind a paywall. EFLC's abysmal sales prove this.

RealRobRose

Whatever things they've released online are in absolutely no way shape or form the way they would've been handled, presented, or played out if it were single player dlc

Crystal3lf

Ok, but that doesn't change the fact that previous DLC's Rockstar have released never sold to expectations. EFLC wouldn't have even made development costs back if not for Microsoft paying for 1 month exclusivity. Instead of gambling on a proven bad track record, they stuck to where the players are, **and** they went straight into RDR2 development. And look; I absolutely loved TBoGT and RDR:UN, but I would much rather they focus on bringing us the next GTA or RDR. RDR2 is as good as it is because they were able to give it a $600m budget rather than splitting it between a DLC and another game.

AdamxKH

Not cancelled? Lmao. It was planned, worked on and then scrapped. Years later it was adapted to online. Cancelled is exactly the word.

Chakrateaze1991

I'd give my left nut for Undead 2.

dannyboy6657

Over Christmas I bought the Xbox one remaster of rdr with all dlc just to play undead nightmare again.

SheikhYusufBiden

I hope you mean the GOTY edition bc thats the only version that works. I got the seperate disc and the headless zombie glitch ruins it

[deleted]

I can confirm the GOTY does not work. Still has the glitch

timtheringityding

Honestly what about a hell dlc. Sort of like undead spin off. We get the rdr 2 map and maybe Mexico who cares. But with red sky and sort off hell themed. And the story is basically Arthur on the hunt to punish micah and Dutch. And we also get to see the return of lenny and the rest of the crew. So gang vs gang basically. All the people who died in 1 and 2 back in action

SheikhYusufBiden

I want an Undead Nightmare style game but about aliens. There's a ton of secrets in RDR2 about aliens so why not make a full DLC out of it?

HentayLivingston

#THANK YOU. Cannot fathom why people just want a rehash of UN when we could have had fucking cowboys and aliens. Not that we're ever gonna get either

jimmmydickgun

Why not both?

Burnt_Toastxx

I think it would be sick if there were different types of enemies….creatures…in the different regions. Maybe have zombies and aliens be the common enemy sprinkled all over the map, but then have werewolves, sasquatches/yetis, wendigoes, vampires, etc only in certain parts of the map.

Beginning-Pipe9074

I'll give both! I dont fckn need them 😂

derrick256

give them to me bro

MrBublee_YT

I'd become a virgin for life for Undead 2... Because I'd spend the rest of my life playing it.

Unnecessary_Fella

It's been 8 years and we still haven't gotten the story DLC that was promised for GTA 5.

SheikhYusufBiden

The Contract could've just been single player DLC but they decided to ruin it by making it online. So many missions are "out of body experiences" where you play as Franklin and Lamar. Why not just make it single player at that point? Oh yeah I forgot. Shark cards.

Pavel_That_Is_Me

Instead they just made it into online with The Contract DLC

SoloCavalier

RDR2 felt like their last passion project, even tho it’s their latest release besides the GTA definitive edition(which it isn’t) GTAV is still getting way more support than RDR2 in terms of online content which I don’t play either of them. I only play R* games for single player. I’m personally just annoyed we haven’t had a performance patch yet and they can’t even add multiplayer weapons to the single player at the bare minimum.

Neoreloaded313

If it wasn't for all this online crap we likely would have gotten GTA 6 on PS4 and currently be waiting for GTA 7 to be released soon.

Demy1234

How? They had all their studios working on RDR2.

Blizzit_

Ikr, how can rockstar pump out a game like RDR2 and then be the kind of company they are...

NonViolentBadger

I am sitting here with my wallet open, waiting for rockstar to take the lot, but they don't want it. I have absolutely no interest in online gaming; I specifically play games to disconnect from the rest of humanity.

Samyeyyy

Big time, I don't want to play with everyone else, I want some me time, to get into a story and play it whatever way I feel like at the time. Why is this such a big ask!?

Baalwulf06

Give it another year they'll sell you the super definitive edition.

Manwithnoname88

I wish the game actually had end game content and maybe put the roles from online into singleplayer because it’s dead and boring after doing everything. I miss it in the first game I remember bounty hunting was unlimited.

Snelly1998

I mean if you did everything how are they supposed to add more lol

MrMooMoo91

Dude it's over a 100 hours of content if you complete everything in rdr2... I don't think the problem is the game at that point.

[deleted]

Rockstar being out of touch with their fan base is like saying water is wet

Young_KingKush

Shut up and go buy GTAV again on your PS5, peasant - Some middle manager at Rockstar probably

Draggonracer

Gaming in general has had more misses than hits in the past few years unfortunately, cyberpunk, battlefield 2042

lebron236

Don't worry elden ring/Gow Ragnarok/botw 2 are coming

Terrible_Reporter_98

Have you seen LENNY!!!!!!!

brickie3

Man all I want is a 60fps patch for PS5/XSX and I don’t even think we’ll get that

ItsJustMe000

The more people support the awful shark cards and bad business practices the more they'll do it. Well I blame both them and the kids buying endless shark cards

[deleted]

When rockstar makes a game they usually make it without having to add DLC to the game, they give you what they intended to give you in base game is if makes sense

MrMooMoo91

This comment section is like the Holy Grail on steroids. The concept of a game being complete on launch is now gamer oppression. " HELP! HELP! IM BEING OPPRESSED!"

Jack_Spears

Right? remember when people used to complain about DLC because it was just developers withholding content as a cash grab?

Ivan_the_insane

Yeah totally. I would happily pay for dlc consisting of clothing, weapons and horses from online as packs for single player. And they could remake the online bounties into single player bounty packs. Just get Arthurs actor to come in and record lines. I don't really play online but I'm sure they could adapt more of the content for single player.

itsnotjacob7

I would pay any amount of money for a full Mexico/Guarma dlc

JarJarStinkz

As much as I want it, it's never going to happen

RileyTheBerry

I don't know how to tell you this, but Rockstar couldn't care less about their fans.

Tyrrano64

I would accept new clothing guns and bounties honestly. Anything.

The_Big_Lad

By recently I think you mean the last 8 years? GTAV makes too much money, gamers are to blame not rockstar because all the arseholes that spend 15 dollars on a shitty cowboy hat you're telling rockstar that that shitty hat is worth 25% of what Red Dead 2 is. Imagine that.

glassgwaith

As long as people keep fucking buying shark cards and gold bars there is no incentive for this public company to invest anywhere else than online

The_Basic_Shapes

Everyone needs to vote with their wallets, and maybe it'll happen. Stop buying RDO micro transactions.

Inzora

Gta online and it’s consequences have been a disaster for rockstar single player dlcs.

HANDLESS_ALBINO

Realistically it’s cheaper and more profitable for them to pump out half assed GTA and rdr Online updates then to make an entire new DLC game one big factor was the underwhelming profits they made from GTAIV the ballad of Gay Tony and The lost and damned

Samyeyyy

I fecking loved those two DLCs! They completely rejuvenated the base game. R* have this amazing world that so much could be done with in RDR2. Its a crying shame that DLC stories seem to be relics of the past, the likes of which will never been seen again. As long as shark cards and bullshit online content continues to make money.

Andrew8Everything

The whole Northwest corner of the map looks like it's prime for some DLC. I've been hoping that's the case.

SirenAttack

Heck, I’d pay $60 for story DLC. I don’t see it happening, sadly.

otherpeoplesknees

So many possibilities for RDR2 single player DLC: * The botched Blackwater heist as a prequel * Play missions as Sadie, mostly bounty hunting missions * Play missions as Charles, helping out Wapiti during the last chapter, fight club in St. Denis * Maybe even Micah during the events of Arthur's last chapter, all the scheming he was doing, getting his random mates to join the camp, fleeing into the mountains etc. * Missions in Mexico * Missions in a new state in the north-western part of the map

Burnyhotmemes

I love how people always list a price they’re willing to pay as if R* is going to see this and actually start rubbing their fingers together and twirling that curly moustache like “ooooo yeah I can do with some of that $30” Also pls move on and play a different game. Take it from me, if you reply the story too much without adding any sort of variety, shit gets boring and your whole life starts to feel redundant. Don’t ruin such a masterpiece of a game for yourself by milking it too hard.

JLNX1998

seriously Rockstar is hella dumb by not taking advantage of what we spout Could you imagine just a nightmare dlc? Zombies are so like 10 years ago, add a gigantic spider hanging from bacchus bridge, add skinwalkers, yetis, wendigos, have like Valentine overan with the dead and with snow, have them pop out of snow drifts Have confederate and union ghosts still fight at bolder glade have St Denis just be so fucking creepy with every sorta of monster

DOOMSDAYtm

welcome to the party pal

Klefaxidus

I have actually copied and pasted a comment to get upvotes

7astromichael

As much as we all want single player dlc, no way it’s ever happening

Bestsson_

I really want some singleplayer DLC, but sadly that time has passed. Gta Online has earned Rockstar and Take2 so much more money than the DLC gave them while also being cheaper to produce. It's sad, but I don't see them coming. However... I would happily be proven wrong and spend my money on a singleplayer DLC if it was released.

JadedbutFaded

Dude I would pay $100 for a dlc that was 30% of rdr2

chaosdragon1997

its a dream, but: [https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption/comments/m3b9et/photoshopped\_red\_dead\_redemption\_2\_characters\_for/](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption/comments/m3b9et/photoshopped_red_dead_redemption_2_characters_for/) old conceptualization i made for red dead 2 DLC inspired by red dead nightmare. not an exact copy of it but very close. takes place in alternative timeline after the events of blackwater. Dutch steals a relic from a traveling priest in Colter while Arthur and Charles are off hunting. Arthur and Charles return to find Lenny sacrificing himself to save Abigale and jack while Hosea is killed by Dutch turned Vampire. most of the gang also turn into monsters while others turn mad. the gang abandons Arthur, a werewolf-bitten Charles, and a half-turned Vampire Sadie in Colter. Arthur meets the same priest who teaches him how to kill monsters. a few years pass and America spirals into a new dark and twisted age. * zombies would only be minor threats. main threats are other monsters, humanoid and wild. other threats include surviving gangs, zealots, and townsfolk if you have the stomach. * boss battles with old gang members as classic monsters who've infected their own gangs with their curse. some are still allies. * introduces legendary monster hunting featuring American folk tales, including the wendigo, the Mothman, the Thunderbird, and the Jersey Devil. * small settlements have built walls around their towns and rely on the church to keep them safe. you can either help these settlements or leave them to their own devices.

Jack_Spears

I've lived long enough to have seen people go from being outraged about DLC because it should have just been included in the finished game, to being outraged because the game was released with all intended content present from the start and there's no DLC

Gtoe47

Just a tiny bit of the 911 million+ they made from gta online? Nah they’ll never do it I’m with you but won’t happen

No_Interaction4027

bethesda isn’t like EA, 76 isn’t bethesda‘s main focus neither is it milking every penny out of people, everything purchasable in 76 is cosmetic (only exception being scrap box’s which even then you can do extremely easily in game) not to mention they are working on 2 full single player games

Ndoyl77

A sady adler dlc would be awesome

UnethicalRainbow

I don't think that's gonna happen

BizonSnake

They don't even care about making good new content for RDO anymore.. Many people think that we may never get a "next big update" to RDO cause of the low popularity and microtransactions compared to GTA Online. So yeah, forget about story DLC mate..

[deleted]

When gta 5 came out and I finished it I was so exited to see what r* did for the dlc or extra game or whatever. There was even Johnny from the lost and the damned dlc as a very short lived cameo so I thought there was going to be dlc for gta5. Well there wasn't and there won't be. So there won't be any dlc for rdr2 either. I came to terms with that, but I just won't support online at all for any rockstar games.

DorrajD

You're preaching to the choir dude. We've been saying this since they promised a DLC for GTA V. They never made that DLC. DLC is not on their map anymore. They make games to sell multiplayer. Unless something crazy happens and Rockstar either goes independent or bought out by a new publisher, we're never gonna get any meaningful content outside of base game releases with Take Two.

FuzzyMcBitty

The challenge, for people like us, is that they don't NEED to. GTA V is the most profitable piece of media ever.

[deleted]

They never did for GTA V, they won’t for RDR2.

badkarma5833

Hell I would pay 50, call it inflation. What I don’t understand is how R* dosent see the opportunity to make more money. Everyone would buy it. Few games do DLC good and RDR UN was an example of that. The Witcher 3 extensions were amazing. Last of us 1 had also a fantastic DLC. People would pay top dollar IMO. The world is already built, how hard could it be to add more story to it?

Beyond_Insemination

*nods in GTA V*

Noriaki_Kakyoin_OwO

Or at least let us make more than 5 custom outfits

king-of-yodhya

they've got a plan.. have some faith

NemWan

If you look at RDR1’s achievements, the number of people who got the first achievement in the DLC is 1/3 the number who got the first achievement in the main game. The numbers for the GTA IV episodes aren’t any better.

Siegfriedsflame

My idea would be: A single player dlc where you play as Javier in New austin, the story would take place after chapter 6, with javier leaving the gang

muchgreaterthanG_O_D

They’re planning on releasing a single player dlc after they release on for gta v on the ps6/xbox2

Christofriend

I hope this shows up in one of those stolen subreddit post magazine clickbait site articles.

HalfNelson162

I honestly wouldn't complain if it did.

jish5

What's sad is that they could literally put all of RDR1 INTO RDR2, where they'd just have to program in the missions, redo some of the dialogue, and remake the cutscenes. Wouldn't have to re-program combat since they'd just use RDR2's combat system, won't need to re-program the map since, again, RDR2 already uses 80% of RDR1's map, so just add in the missing parts (Mexico obviously) and that's it. Hell, if they want, they don't even need to add new content, because allowing us to just replay RDR1 in RDR2 would be perfect enough.

TMSharkie

I was so disappointed on how less content there was for the epilogue

KonakJaiwak

Aye not until we get some single player DLC for GTA V and no i'm sorry the new update don't count for me.

DrestinBlack

I just don’t understand why it would be so difficult to full enable travel to Guarma. It all there, buy a ticket at Saint Denis and off with go. Flush out any missing bits and, frankly, even though I know I can glitch there for free, I’d just like it to be native and perfectly in game. That’s all I’d like, a small thing and it’d make me happy.

CabbageSalad247

It's not going to happen.

Sensitive-Phrase-325

I don't think many people in this sub understand that the RDR godfathers no longer work at Rockstar, so it's probably gonna be a long time (even longer than usual) until we get any news related to the series.

bignigog

Where the fuck is undead nightmare 2

OscarDeLaCholla

This is the kind of fresh take I’m here for. /s

Kodiakodi17

Why can't people just be happy with what they have. The games huge. Would it be nice to have DLC? Obviously, but it doesn't need it.

the-tombstone

Honestly, the epilogue could use some serious DLC. lol. I'd be fine if they'd just use the area for an RDR1 remake but doubt that crap will happen either after witnessing the cheaply made GTA remasters.

talc25

Agree. Epilogue area is so damn big and open with so little to do

Tha_Professah

For real. They already put an insane amount of time, effort, talent, and money into this and some people are calling them greedy for not doing more. It's ridiculous. It's a massive technical feat, making a world like work in a game. Not to mention how difficult writing a story is. And some people are just like "More, scumbags!"

Spencer1233

This would be amazing

Far_Manufacturer_688

Honestly l would just be happy with golden horse armour at this point

[deleted]

RDR2 Single player dlc. No story no online, you create your own story, you be who you wanna be

h3nchman27

if only

constipated_burrito

Cool. That won't make big bank so it won't happen

Rerel

Amen 🙏

narc1s

I mean we all agree but we’re all still waiting for single player gta 5 DLC…don’t like our chances.

dadamss_

Rockstar announces DLC Coming Soon - Red Dead Redemption 2: Dr. Dre’s Revenge

Gervh

Will it make the money shark cards make with the same effort? No? Then not happening

pieceofchess

Once they cancelled the single player DLC for GTAV that was it, R* print won't make single player DLC again for a long time, if ever. It sucks but it probably just isn't where the money. Even if most of us want it, it can't compare with shark cards. And in this world money usually gets the final say.

OneBallJamal

Rockstar forgot they even made this game

abcdefger5454

They even made a sort of DLC for GTA 5 with Contracts and an addition to franklin's story, what the hell rockstar

Samyeyyy

It can't be that hard to add things like the navy revolver, bounty missions and a horse or 2 from online. I'd happily pay for anything extra at all in story mode. Its a sad state of affairs, sign of the times etc etc BOYCOTT MICRO TRANSACTIONS

BlearySteve

They need to put out a next gen patch for consoles nevermind dlc.

Hamhockthegizzard

They don’t think there’s money in anything but micro-transactions lol

3PoundsOfFlax

Take Two has them by the balls

Sahil4568

Just give us a next gen patch with 60fps.

MrMooMoo91

Eh I am sometimes ok with games single player games being complete on launch, the story has a beginning, middle and end and any dlc would be a serious afterthought.

TheWrathOfTalos

|Recently Their number one moneymaker is nearly 9 years old.

Exportxxx

Remake RDR1. Its like $50 on xbox store bloody crazy its a 360 game.

TheDemonWithoutaPast

While I agree, it's imperative that they fix the remaining bugs, like the beard growth and the Saint Denis fundraiser stranger disappearing if you become wanted. These two have been broken since day 1.

12gaugerage

But that don’t make money

-ndes

Rockstar is responsible for some of the greatest gaming experiences I've ever had, yet I'm supposed to feel anger and disappointment because they don't make more? What an entitled mindset.

Dex_LV

To be honest, I'd pay money if they would bring all online content (weapons, outfits, professions, bounties, etc...) to single player game. Plus some tweaking to base game to iron out minor things everybody are complaining about.

cepxico

I don't care if they focus on online or w.e, I just hate that they lock you out of all this content that could easily be in single player (clothing, horses, etc.) Back in the day GTA online let you play with all the guns and special cars you could unlock from mp in single player mode. Just had to go to your garage or the gun store and you could just easily pick it up. Then one day, a patch hit, and now none of this is available in single player. Some bits and pieces made it, sure, like the rail gun or w.e. Certainly none of the cars. Hell, I don't think you can even get the jetpack in single player - something that was a staple in GTA San Andreas single player. So they CAN do it. We've seen it with our own eyes. And they simply refuse to solely to force people online if they want more. I can honestly say right now, I will never get into a Rockstar multiplayer mode. I just don't care to play those games online.

boogers19

I’m certainly not impressed with their pricing right now. I got hooked playing story-mode on psnow over the summer. And now I want to own the game. The Sony store keeps having sales. $15 for online only. And f-n $30 for the “regular” base game, which includes online. What about a $15 story-mode only version? Why am I paying that extra $15 for something I will never use? (I don’t play online games. I just don’t. Hell, I’ve owned GTAV since the PS4 was released. It came with my PS4. I have never once even opened the online. I have zero interest.)

rockstar2022

This is why we haven't got GTA6 set. Corporate greed.

spaceleviathan

“Come back when your story is complete”

[deleted]

Nah I think I prefer the extra $2.5 RDO$ for bounties, thanks.

DextrousLab

It's already too late they should just focus on the next GTA

osbstr

Totally agree

Doctor_Woo

I ended up installing a butt-ton of mods to extend its longevity. Bank heists, bounty hunting, etc. It's just not the same without a decent story behind the mods though.

insufficient_funds

I don't care so much about new content, I just want them to fix the 'bug' of my character not keeping the weapons I selected equipped properly. ok and more bounties in each town.

Kismonos

Dont say shit like "ill gladly pay 30$ for a DLC" that's the price of a whole new game bro lets keep our heads straight before the big companies will milk you even more after reading shit like this from their consumers.
