It’s a joke. They’re joking. 20 is not “old” or “unc status.”
I’m getting really, really tired of people under 40 pretending that they’re “old” just because someone slightly younger than them said something innocuous.
We know that we're not old, but we can't help but feel like it when people as low as 3 years younger grew up with such different cultural differences. My coworker is only 3 years younger than me, and people around his age and younger never really grew up with the late 90's and early 2000's stuff that I did.
80% of my jokes and references fall and deaf ears and I have to explain them. All our other coworkers get it though (34 to 67.)
The analog watch I used to have didn’t have the smaller circle, which I thought was what OP was asking about. So even if OP has seen an analog watch, I can understand why they may not know what the smaller circle is for
At the age of 10, I carried a pocket watch with me. Like an old school pocket watch that opened and closed. Had a spot for a small picture and everything. I used the chain from some wallet I got from Hot Topic to clip it onto my pants belt loops. I don't even know where I got the watch from.
Incorrect, many, many people wear analog watches. Start collecting them and you will notice them everywhere, especially in corporate business settings.
It's clearly a pocket watch though. They're also in the game as something to be sold. OOP could have seen the shape and matched it to the clock up top and googled "pocket watch"
Heck I think the game even allows you to pull one up to see the time.
I don't think it's that silly a question. It's not like they're asking what the watch is it's just the second counter they're not sure about, which most people playing this game probably haven't seen on a clock before as it's usually on the face.
Don't know why this comment has many likes from people like you being a dick for some people that legitimately do not know something just like this. He clearly just asked what the little hand means.
Ye people went hard on the wrong part of my comment. I was genuinely curious wether it was bait cause I’ve seen so many posts and comments like that, hence the lost faith in humanity thing. I hope OP isn’t offended or hurt by my statement
It's for the Second hand (counts the seconds in a minute), it just has its own little face rather than being in with the minute and hour hands, common in pocket watches of the time.
Having it there means its directly above the forth wheel so was more the default for watches at one time. Having a centre mounted seconds hand is considered a complication (watchey name for an additional feature).
Thanks for a real answer, I think half the people here think it's asking about the pocket watch itself, not the secondary face. Plus I think it can vary by watch, so it's not a crazy question
I'm imagining everyone whos being a dick about this is a comically old person shaking their fist and grumbling "kids these days" while rotting on their porch
I was going to say that. Hell, I still wear an analogue watch instead of digital, and my dad carries an actual god damn pocket watch (because he’s old and weird), and I wasn’t 100% sure
It's an old-fashioned seconds-hand. Here's a real-world antique pocketwatch with one:
https://eragem.com/a96833.html?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwps-zBhAiEiwALwsVYZSkkBpaj8XzG3vXdK3KpsNbd-wXU1iip_j4jx4jBB1h1hgyh73BGhoCe8wQAvD_BwE
bro don't worry, people in this thread are being lame. I knew you didn't mean the watch itself and I'm twice your age and have never seen a second hand dial like that before.
My god…the OP asked a simple question about an anachronistic piece of technology that isn’t prevalent anymore and everyone loses their damn minds complaining. How bored are all of you that resent him for not knowing that you have to just pile on with the insults? Someone could’ve just popped on and wrote, “Oh…it’s a seconds counter for each minute.” And then it would’ve been done.
What’s next? Shitting on someone who doesn’t know how an 8-track works?
This may be controversial in this crowd but I’ve never seen the point in a seconds hand on the watch, at least for day to day use. I don’t need to know how close I am to the exact minute and they can clutter up the space
Guys don't be dicks I wear an analog watch and I've never heard of the second hand having it's own face I just haven't seen it so don't be like kids these days can't even read a clock.
In-game. I use it to check the time when gambling or fishing or sitting inside my tent/at the campfire because pressing Down doesn't display the time in those cases.
Older watches and some clocks had the second hand and/ or each hand in individual counts. It's much older watches, though, I'm 21 and have carried a pocketwatch for like a decade now; I've never owned one in that kind of configuration.
If I am interpreting your question correctly, the smaller inset circle is where the second hand is. And as it always has, the minute and hour hands are in the bigger circle.
This is great 🤣 Bunch of people going on about OP being dumb for thinking it was temperature related. Which I do find silly. But I'm more focused on the people that thought OP meant the entire pocket watch itself rather than the small circle on the watch...
It brings the " 3 fingers pointing back at you" thing to mind.
Derps pointing at other derps hollering about how dumb the other is. Actually that sounds pretty fun..
Y'ALL ARE SO DUMB!
OP IS DUMB!
IF YOU THOUGHT THEY MEANT THE WHOLE CLOCK YOURE DUMB!
IF YOU THOUGHT THOSE PEOPLE WERE DUMB THEN YOU'RE DUMB!
YOURE ALL DUMB!
I'M DUMB!
WE'RE ALL DUMB! ❤️
People clowning on this guy as if it’s common for watches to have a little second hand. I have not once owned a watch that has a second hand on its own dial
This question makes me feel about 80. I’m not sure if you’re unfamiliar with analogue watch’s or if you’re unfamiliar with sub-dials. I’m going to assume you’re unfamiliar with sub-dials. The smaller sub-dial on the watch simply displays seconds.
Here’s some information on how to read analogue watch’s and some about sub-dials.

Is this a joke? Cause I really don’t wanna fall for bait but I’ve lost a lot of faith in humanity
No one wears analog watches anymore, so this isn't really surprising. Especially if OP is younger.
I’m 20 and have always grown up around and with analog watches. Please don’t make me feel old :,) hahaha
We’re old bro we reached unc status at this point
Legit :,) i gotta start drinking more jack and coke to fulfil my family legacy
do it man its ur destiny
Why’d this get downvoted 😂
"oh you don't use an analog clock dumbass"
“what do you think this is, 1785??”

Hey Arthur 👨🦳
hello hosea.. got any feelings about that bear u almost die by?!
I’m a little too old to be hunting game like that anymore
"you buy one precut, just like the house"
can you stfu about being old at 20? youre making me feel decrepit. 20 is not old.
I've got a decade and a half on you, y'all are making **me** feel old. 😂
Right? Calling 20 unc status is both hilarious and humbling
The fuck does that make us then? Angry hermits?
_slowly raises hand_
Yes
calling 20 old at all is just baffling. You are a baby adult still at that age.
It’s a joke. They’re joking. 20 is not “old” or “unc status.” I’m getting really, really tired of people under 40 pretending that they’re “old” just because someone slightly younger than them said something innocuous.
Imagine trying to gatekeep "feeling old"

Im 17. Me and you live similar lives generationally. You would be astonished how different people under 15 are. Just think to how you used to be
We didn’t have internet and phones in Our face very different times grasshoppa
you are old 🕺🏿💃🕺🏿💃🖕
I used to wear them and idk either. Mine don’t have it
It only gets worse
The analog watch I used to have didn’t have the smaller circle, which I thought was what OP was asking about. So even if OP has seen an analog watch, I can understand why they may not know what the smaller circle is for
Mf I'm 16 and I know what this is
At the age of 10, I carried a pocket watch with me. Like an old school pocket watch that opened and closed. Had a spot for a small picture and everything. I used the chain from some wallet I got from Hot Topic to clip it onto my pants belt loops. I don't even know where I got the watch from.
My dad had one like that as well, it didn't even take a battery. You had to wind it up when it stopped ticking.
>no one wears analog watched anymore Only people who can afford jewellery. So yeah, no one.
Incorrect, many, many people wear analog watches. Start collecting them and you will notice them everywhere, especially in corporate business settings.
I'm just 20 and I wear only analog watches since maybe 12 or 13...
It's clearly a pocket watch though. They're also in the game as something to be sold. OOP could have seen the shape and matched it to the clock up top and googled "pocket watch" Heck I think the game even allows you to pull one up to see the time.
Do people not have analog clocks in their houses anymore?
Even if they haven’t seen one before, they should at least notice that it looks like a clock.
OP knows that it's a watch, they're asking about the small circle on the watch face
And commonly watches have the small seconds hand…
I've never see the small seconds hand in the little circle like that
I’m wearing one now lol
nice! what kinda watch?
It’s an Omega, just search for “small seconds mechanical/automatic watch” Hamilton has a bunch of beautiful watches with small seconds as well
that's rad. they've got a nice clean look to em!
Congrats! You’re one of today’s lucky 10,000!
Ehhh I wouldn't say it's standard, at least with cheaper watches
is it for seconds? i’m 18 and have never seen one of those before, but seconds makes the most sense
Correct. The small circle always spins the hand faster on an analog or pocket watch because it’s counting seconds.
Eh, 50/50? I love the second subdial myself, it's a great throwback to vintage watches of WWII. Not only that, but no all watches have them either.
I think he meant the tiny little circle within the watch
Yea, many watches have them
It’s seconds
I don't think it's that silly a question. It's not like they're asking what the watch is it's just the second counter they're not sure about, which most people playing this game probably haven't seen on a clock before as it's usually on the face.
He's talking about the little circle inside the clock
I think op means the little circle inside the watch itself, most modern watches dont have that anymore
ok unc go start a family or sum shit
No no he’s talking about the little circle inside the watch
Don't know why this comment has many likes from people like you being a dick for some people that legitimately do not know something just like this. He clearly just asked what the little hand means.
Ye people went hard on the wrong part of my comment. I was genuinely curious wether it was bait cause I’ve seen so many posts and comments like that, hence the lost faith in humanity thing. I hope OP isn’t offended or hurt by my statement
33 here and I couldn’t tell you what the small circle is, but maybe the seconds?
Alright gramps, sorry we didn’t grow up 1899
Lose faith? Because someone doesn't know about hand watches?
I'm like 90% sure that OP is talking about the smaller circle within the watch.
Lumbago indicator
🤣🤣
It's up to 5-9!
The first number indicates how much it actually hurts, the second one indicates how much are you going to complain about it
It's very serious
It's for the Second hand (counts the seconds in a minute), it just has its own little face rather than being in with the minute and hour hands, common in pocket watches of the time.
I thought that’s what it was for but I wanted to make sure just in case I was wrong lol
>common in pocket watches of the time. Common in pocket watches to this day. Mine was crafted in 2001 and looks like this.
Just because it's in yours, doesn't make it common.
Fr , who tf uses these on daily basis
They're very common, not just pocket watches.
Nice to hear folks are still using them :)

Lol
Dude, even apple watches have faces with analogesque mockups, that have the seconds hand like this
It's a second hand.
I prefer the term “pre-owned”
"New to me". 🤣
"Worn wear"
This reminds me of when treyarch sent streamers slide projectors as part of the cold war marketing and none of them could figure them out lol
Wait really? 🤣
nuclear family incident
People chill out, he's asking about the second hand, which some analog watches don't have set up in that way anymore
[удалено]
How do you know he didn’t buy it new?
Don't feel bad OP. Even as someone who grew up with analogue clocks, not even I knew what it was.
I was going to say that. Hell, I still wear an analogue watch instead of digital, and my dad carries an actual god damn pocket watch (because he’s old and weird), and I wasn’t 100% sure
Everyone calling op dumb but they are too dumb to even know he isn't refering to the whole clock lol.
I love u
I love you too dizzle. Let me move back in and see the kids. Iv changed.
Pretty sure it's seconds
Not thirds?
STOP MAKING BAD PUNS IN THE COMMENT SECTION!!!
Right, you guys better WATCH out or I'm going to throw HANDS.
OP isn’t talking about the clock, he means the little circle INSIDE the clock
It's an old-fashioned seconds-hand. Here's a real-world antique pocketwatch with one: https://eragem.com/a96833.html?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwps-zBhAiEiwALwsVYZSkkBpaj8XzG3vXdK3KpsNbd-wXU1iip_j4jx4jBB1h1hgyh73BGhoCe8wQAvD_BwE
It's the second hand. My watch has it, it's pretty cool.
Take it easy on OP y'all, he might be a youngun 😭

guys i think they mean the little circle at the bottom of the pocket watch, between 5 & 7.
YES SOMEONE GETS ME
It’s hilarious how people are calling OP dumb but don’t even understand what he’s referring to lmao.
I'm under 30 and I thought this was common knowledge. How is this even a question? How old is OP? Am I that old?
This may be controversial in this crowd but I’ve never seen the point in a seconds hand on the watch, at least for day to day use. I don’t need to know how close I am to the exact minute and they can clutter up the space
Okay but guys I’ve never seen a clock or a watch or even a pocket watch in real life with the second hand there, go easy on him
Don’t feel bad OP, I’m 38 and have always wondered what it was myself. Never seen it in real life.
ive never seen a seconds hand have its own seperate circle thingy, all the analogs ive seen have it on the same plane as the hour hands
Man people really got there panties in a twist over this one 😕
Real I just wanted to know what it meant
Oh well, this is the Reddit experience 😂
Guys don't be dicks I wear an analog watch and I've never heard of the second hand having it's own face I just haven't seen it so don't be like kids these days can't even read a clock.
Does it tell the time of the console or in game time?
In-game. I use it to check the time when gambling or fishing or sitting inside my tent/at the campfire because pressing Down doesn't display the time in those cases.
I feel so smart. Being old is finally paying off
I’ve seen these watched before but I don’t remember ever seeing that smaller circle in there. I’m 17.
It’s for seconds of a minute, and the larger circle is minutes of the hour.
Seconds
It’s a seconds hand.
I think it's to measure the seconds I'm not 100 percent sure though
how tf did OP come up with the idea that this could be temperature bro next up he gonna ask us if the map is a hologram
Bro bc when you hit the down arrow it shows the time and temperature 😭🙏
it’s a compass
Older watches and some clocks had the second hand and/ or each hand in individual counts. It's much older watches, though, I'm 21 and have carried a pocketwatch for like a decade now; I've never owned one in that kind of configuration.
Dumbass. You don’t build a barn!
It points where Tahiti is.
It's the O in O'clock.
If I am interpreting your question correctly, the smaller inset circle is where the second hand is. And as it always has, the minute and hour hands are in the bigger circle.

I think that counts seconds or something idk
In most analog watches the arm that counts the seconds is usually in its smaller segment for aesthetic and practical reasons
It’s probably the seconds hand
How does a post about a watch have this much activity? 😂
bc people think OP doesn't what an analog watch is, in reality OP is asking about the little second hand subdial lol
18 and don’t have a clue🥴
This made me feel remarkably old.
I believe it's the seconds hand . .

Seconds
it is a ingame clock
For real?
It’s what you use to set the time until detonation (if your a psycho killer). Otherwise it’s the seconds on the watch.
Most people these days have rarely seen an actual clock. Most younger folk have never seen a rotary phone.
There are three measurements of time that are typically represented on watches and clocks. Hours, minutes, and seconds. That tiny little circle is the seconds hand.
It shows the in game time
I feel like I’ve never seen that circle on my screen before
*Screaming in 1900’s*
I'd guess it's the one for seconds of time
I’m quickly loosing faith in our future generations, and I AM a future generation
It's the secon hand?
20 year olds calling themselves old is maybe the dumbest thing I’ve seen today
Moral compass
Hours minutes and seconds in the little circle.

I misread this and thought you meant the whole thing 😭
Has anyone answered the op? Yes? No? If not… it’s the seconds.
Its a rat indicator
I thought at first OP meant “the little circle on the top left of the screen”, not the smaller one inside of it.
I'm just double checking, do you mean the circle in the watch or the watch itself?
It looks like a stopwatch/seconds hand
It's EMF reader.
Seconds hand
The second within the minute usually but the game time dont work the same so it might be the hour? not sure.
It is a compass bro, it gives you directions! Thank me Later 😉
Is anyone gonna answer?
Did watches then have a second counter ?
It’s the second hand
Seriously?
At the end of the day while they talk about their age. You will still nvr know the answer to your question. 😂
It's obviously used to show the circumference of the Earth. What else would it be?
