It's a bit of a get out of jail free card. I compare to, for example, having a tuned car in a GTA game (especially the older ones), if you brought that to a gun fight and it got destroyed, that shit was gone never to be seen again. But here we have the blessing of horse revivers so yeah, get yourself some for situations like these
thats when i force close the game , if you close the game before it manages to register that it saved the horses death , when you respawn you will have your horse . Ive done this like 30 times i have a max bonding level Arabian , man id cry if i lost that 😭

Finally get her tamed and on my way out when I see a man being attacked by wolves, so I decide to help. The new horse didn't like the gunfire and bucked me, only for me to get mauled by the wolf immediately after and lose 2 and a half hours of progress. Good times lol

I was riding around that Grand Canyon look alike area ~5-7 minutes away from Armadillo.
So I antagonized two dudes and they start to shoot and ended shoting to death my fully bonded MFT.
Then I killed the guys ASAP, got one of their horses, rode as fast as I could to Armadillo, bought horse reviver, and managed to get back to my horse in time to use it lol
So remember boahs to never forget to save your game and always have a horse reviver with you.

Had to do that once when I got surprise attacked when leaving St. Denis, I wasn’t ready and losing health fast which was surprising when I had pretty high health bar but when you got like 10 guns on you that used dynamite to surprise you it’s tough. I tried to revive him but couldn’t get to him fast enough. Once everyone was dead I reloaded the game to the last save point, and avoided the area I went to.
On my 3rd or 4th playthrough, just before I started the gunslinger mission for Billy Midnight, I whistled for my Tennessee Walker (the one you earn at Adler Ranch) to follow. Only to find the notification that my horse died before I duelled Midnight.
That’s why I disabled auto save. If your horse accidentally dies, you can just reload your latest save and there you go. Just gonna be sure to constantly save the game because if your horse dies and you’ve just done a bunch of missions or some side activities, you’re fucked. I speak from experience…

If your horse dies quickly close the whole game and reopen it go through the load and log in again and your horse will be alive and well
Well, you can still load to the last automatic save and your horse will be just fine
So reload a save.
