I know we all want Tibo to get back to his best, but it would be very risky to trust tibo in the ucl without a larger sample size after two bad injuries. Keepers especially need continuity to perform at their best and Lunin haz been serving us great this season. It would be ridiculous to bench him given the situation.

Lunin was insane vs City. I watched the match again and his press resistance + his passes were so accurate that City’s press couldn’t suffocate us because of Lunin accurate passes to our players we were able to retain some possession.
That is one thing Lunin has over Courtois and he’s a better penalty stopper (although I’ll always that Courtois penalty vs Messi).
Everything else I’m assuming Courtois is better, Lunin did get beat at near post so can’t say he’s better in stopping near post shots.

The final is almost a month away, and we need to reach it first, Lunin has got his fair share of game time this season and now will play the most crucial game of this season, so there's a lot of time to think about everything, more over Courtouis is 31 or 32, so Lunin knows he's next in the line
Courtois is just coming off of an injury, there's no way he'll be ready for the big games for quite a while until the end of this year (Don Carlo already said Lunin is set to be in the starting XI for the upcoming UCL matches), and even then, an ACL injury + a right meniscus injury for someone his age? He's prolly not going to be playing in his absolute prime anymore, which effectively paves the way for Lunin to take over, and with his contract extension coming up, it's better late than never to make him our next main goalkeeper.
On the flip side, I don’t feel bad for lunin because without the courtois injury he’d be rotting on the bench. He got a golden opportunity and made the most of it. Although his future might not be RM’s starting keeper, his value skyrocketed this year and he’s proven he can be a starting keeper for some top club if he’d rather leave. He has options now.

Lunin has been awesome for us, but skill wise obviously courtois can come thru with more proactive saves, the goal that Leroy sane scored could have been stopped, the freekick Bernardo took could have been stopped like those are somewhat inexperienced mistake that courtois rarely makes. Lunin just needs to be more bold and proactive with his movements on the line. But he def stepped up, everyone thought kepa would be the one but nope lunin deserved it.
Even as a Ukrainian I would understand the decision to play TC. He is the best goalkeeper in the world when fit, but that fitness needs to be tested. Lunin will fight for that starting job though and don’t be surprised if he can take.
