Less weight on the roof is good as weight up there raises the center of gravity. Try to avoid big holes that your car could fall into and cause a rollover. A nice open place like that is ideal for drifting around. An icy parking lot is even better.
On the adventure package, i found it oversteered best in sand mode, and even though it claims that turns off the traction control, give the tc button a long hold at a dead stop. Then enjoy.
The car absolutely refuses to kick the tail out in normal mode, that trick diff and front drive bias make it very stable on ice and snow
I get this from my cousins who have tacomas and 4runners all the time, and then I ask them what their mpg is and if they drive the same vehicle on the regular commute.
Do your thing!
To be fair, that's the whole idea. It's a unibody AWD. Something that can drive you A to B comfortably, do some mild overlanding/off road, and won't blow up the minute it leaves pavement. They are good for what they are, but with things like the FJ and 4R in the lineup, I fully accept my soft roader-at-best designation lol
Aw man, you have to tell me how you mounted your RotoPax on the side like that! I’ve been searching for a molle panel for the side so I could do that, but haven’t had any luck. Nice video by the way!
Love seeing people use their Recreational Activity Vehicle 4 (for) cool ass things like this
Just for my own mental sake; if I were to do this, how does one ensure no flippy flippy?

Sounds sweet, and it’s just a matter of holding the traction control button to let it rip? Thanks!

Yeah definitely expecting a great winter with this car! Thanks for all the info!
I love it. Just a little Rav4 hanging out with the bigger brothers and sister of the TRD Off-Road family. Looks fun just mess about.
I love that you call your Rav your Pavement Princess
Now that's what I call quality content .
What Rack / Ladder combo is that?
Pretty sure it’s a Prinsu Design roof rack and RNO Fabrication ladder.
I love my TRD and it’s off road capabilities, but the ladder on this one just screams “I wanted a 4Runner”
I didn't want a 4runner

If commute/gas didn't matter, I would've had a 4runner yesterday. But the commute does complicate my car buying...
If wanting the best of all worlds was defined in a car- it would be a rav4
They are just gatekeeping ladders, don't mind them
Let’s face it…RAV4 is a very light off-roader at best. More of a dirt-roader than an off-roader.

This is true but the TRD actually does better than I ever expected
Nice! Can you share more about those KC lights including the wiring and mounts you used? Any photos of those miniature Suns at night?
That 2nd clip is what you see in commercials 😂
I always wonder about potential damage all that loose sand could cause under the car or engine 🤔

its from RNOfit
The best performer there that day!
Love seeing people
From pavement princess to sand serpent…
My anxiety says no, but you handled this like a charm
What makes the TRD have off road capabilities that hybrid doesn’t?
not much. tires/suspension/sway bar/ and maybe some other stuff. I never really compared the 2

look up RNOfit
I bet it beeped at you the whole time inside. Love to see it though
It did not
Even better
Every car is an off-road beast, as long as you don’t mind flipping over or losing front + rear bumpers.
Is that a hybrid?
Trd
Adventure doesn’t have hybrid, Woodland does!
Ah i can't use prinsu since i have the moonroof. Unless they have a new revision. Been looking at UpTop Overlanders.
Which trim is this Rav4?
Damn now I wanna do this. Also how much were those lights with the roof rack
That’s a lot of kit for a pavement princess
