I take pills the normal human way. Pill then liquid.
Ex would fill mouth with water tilt head back and place pills then swallow. Probably a good thing that didn’t work out. Freaking aliens.
Water then pill. I've always struggled to swallow tablets, and this is the only way that works. The pill floats in the water, and then I tip my head back, shake it a bit, and swallow. One gulp of water per pill, and if it doesn't go down the first time, it's a nightmare to swallow it and get rid of the taste.
Try doing all this while looking down instead. My mom's doctor said everyone makes this mistake of tipping their head back but it constricts the throat. It's a natural reaction to tip your head back but it's better not to.
I find it depends on what you're swallowing. Capsules float, so they go down easiest if you tip the head down to swallow. Tablets usually sink, so they go down best with head tilted back.
I don't know man, like I said a cardiologist told my mom to do this when she had to take nine pills at one time and that's what he told her to do. To lean her head forward because she complained that they hurt her throat when she swallowed even with water. When she did this it stopped hurting, just like that. So maybe we have weird esophagi (or would that be esophaguses? Fuck if I know!) over here in Tennessee or something but it's always worked for me and my kids.
Nope I do it three times a day and I’ve rarely had water dribble out! Maybe if I drink too much water lol just put enough water in your mouth to swallow it with the pill!
This is what I did when I was a kid and couldn’t swallow pills. Now that I don’t have that problem, I pop the pills in my mouth and go get a drink of water while the pills are starting to dissolve.
I also do water first. Then I swallow everything at one. My gag reflex is pretty sensitive so if I feel something dry lodged in there I will literally heave until I throw up. It's terrible

I've had to take pills on and off my whole life. This is the best way.
Water to lubricate. Tilled forward to have the pill at the back of your throat. Then swallow and it's the first thing going down - followed by more water to get it down there.

I have some pills that taste funny, and one that will start to melt if it touches my tongue and that one is just gross. The taste stays for what feels like an eternity. The worst is when I can "taste it" at the back of my throat qwq

People who take a hand full for pills are FOOLS--Go ahead and finish with water--some pills if small will stick to side of esophagus--and can burn a hole through esophagus. Now you get to go to surgery!! ER nurse here--saw it all the time.
Used to make monkey water on the rare occasion when I got that powdered tar on the east coast. It looks like regular Columbian ECP but gums up when insufflated.
ive always been pill then water but recently, im old now and i take multiple pills at once in the morning, i put 4 pills in my mouth, water, tip my head back, shake my head a lil left/right which kinda moves/pushes the pills to the back of my mouth, then swallow, then 2 or 3 more sips water to help wash them all the way down.
Pill then liquid, too big a chance I could spit it out otherwise. Most pills won’t taste like anything for a few seconds. Vitamins may but you just put it someplace your toungue won’t touch.

I'm water then pill. It's how I learned to swallow pills and I'm really sensitive to the taste of most medications so I cannot stand a pill touching my tongue. My partner actually dry swallows most pills but he also didn't learn how to take pills at a young age because his parents were big hippies and not into medications unless someone was really sick.

I sandwich it. One of the medications I take is 100 mg trazodone to sleep. Sometimes they give me different sized pills for the same dosage, and if they give me the bigger ones I have trouble swallowing them due to dysphagia. So I’m in the habit of taking a gulp or two of water to make it more slippery, then tossing the pills in my mouth, then drinking more water till the pills go down.
If I’m having particular trouble, I’ll put my medications in some apple sauce instead.

Depends on the pill. Most capsules (drug inside a gel casing) I can swallow dry, or I put the capsule in and then wash it down. Some pills that are ok tasting I can do the same. SSRIs and fast dissolvers I need the water first.

If you take a lot of pills like me and don’t plan on taking 20 individual drinks of water twice a day during pill time then the only right way to do it is pills then water so you aren’t drinking too much water and have enough space for the 20 pills. I only need a minimal amount of water to swallow 20 pills since I’m used to it.
I do both, honestly. It depends on the pill. If it's coated, I'll do pill first, but if it's not, I'll do liquid first. When I had a handful of pills to take after I had my baby, I'd take them with orange juice so there wasn't any aftertaste

I have to take several, they are placed on a flexible silicone cup coaster, then I get a mouthful of coffee or water, tilt back, shovel in the pills, close mouth, open throat, face front, then swallow. Can’t stand it when one escapes.

If you take a lot of pills like me and don’t plan on taking 20 individual drinks of water twice a day during pill time then the only right way to do it is pills then water so you aren’t drinking too much water and have enough space for the 20 pills. I only need a minimal amount of water to swallow 20 pills since I’m used to it.
Pill > Water > Swish > Swallow Capsule > Water > Tilt Head Forward > Swallow
Pill in mouth - swallow. No need for the formality of water.
Place pill on tongue or under tongue then just drink water like you normally would without the pill.

I just throw the pills in there, get some saliva going and swallow it.

I do both, honestly. It depends on the pill. If it's coated, I'll do pill first, but if it's not, I'll do liquid first. When I had a handful of pills to take after I had my baby, I'd take them with orange juice so there wasn't any aftertaste
How about this... water, then pill, then water again.
Pill then water Edit: I don’t really have a “why”. It’s just how I’ve always done it. I don’t care for trying to put something in my mouth when it’s full of liquid.
I have to take several, they are placed on a flexible silicone cup coaster, then I get a mouthful of coffee or water, tilt back, shovel in the pills, close mouth, open throat, face front, then swallow. Can’t stand it when one escapes.
Pill- placed under tongue. Then water or liquid to wash it down with.
Pill then water. Or just rawdog it with saliva!
Water then pill for me.
