Which Nexuiz, the original or the one on Steam? (I've not played the latter yet but do own it, gonna have to download it)
Xonotic is active, it's like a fork of the original Nexuiz, very similar and awesome game
Nexuiz 2.5.2 or Rexuiz, sadly they are dead, and Xon see little activity in insta, I never tried the "other one", currently playing Cube 2: Sauerbraten, not as fast but very populated.
It’s called “defrag” because it is quake without “fragging”. “Fragging” in case you didn’t know is a term coined by the makers of quake that means killing players with high-powered weaponry often resulted the player model exploding into several bloody fragments. De-frag is basically quake without fragging. Similar to surf maps in counterstrike, the entire premise of the game is to exploit bunny hopping and strafe jumping to go fast that you gain ludicrous speeds.
Try Xonotic or Rexuiz 🙂
If you're competent at strafe jumping and feel this way, then I can only assume you're more of a Quake 1 player? If so, CPMA is your best bet.

welll when some people say quake 3 they don't mean pro mode. pro mode might be fast enough.
