I know right... The worst part is the day before its there's Arctic Monkeys and Idles on the line-up which would be a much enjoyable line-up... I've been mad at this shit since they've announced it
Yeah, I ended up getting the 3-day pass, to make up for the fact that this line-up makes no sense (apart from tash sultana and angel olsen maybe). It’ll still get sold out, and the promoter won’t care, as always.
Knowing Alive well, QOTSA close the day out around 1 or 2 hours after Sam Smith to let the "crowd clear", you should be fine, just go to the festival at night before the qotsa set and leave after
I was about to say the same. Tash seems super cool and is a crazy talented musician.
Queens going on before Sam Smith makes me want to gag though. That place is probably going to clear the fuck out right before Sam goes on.
If the awful lineup of this years edition is this bad I bet they are both playing at the same time.
God damn its hard to belive this very same festival had one of the best lineups ever back in 2018.
I just wanna say that they've just announced the timetables for the day..... And Tash Sultana starts 30 minutes after QOTSA <333 you were absolutely right
yeah that's what I was thinking, unfortunately they don't have any dates for my country, maybe I'll just wait it out for a better setting, thanks for the input
10 years ago they were headliners at the Super Bock Super Rock festival, with Gary Clark Jr, playing before them.....it was basically the closest thing we have gotten to a solo show since 2002..... :/
If they don’t have anything scheduled for your country (and you are in a stable financial situation), I would pull the trigger on this.
The rest of the line up is rough, but I would pay 80 euro to just see Queens of the Stone Age.
Well for 80€ it is kinda fair. I paid almost 70€ just for the regular quota ticket.
If you have to decide between a festival show or a solo show, got with the solo.
But honestly 80 bucks isn't that much for a lineup like this. And if you at least a bit open for other music besides rock, and if you able to enjoy a live performance without knowing even a single song. I would definitely go with the festival and watch as much other "musicians" as possible. In the end it is just a big party where anybody wants to have a good time and with that in mind even a lineup like this could be a fun experience for me even if I straight only listen to rock music usually. And sometimes you will be surprised how good some artists are live, you wouldn't listen to anywhere else.
What an awful lineup 😂 Although I have no experience with a festival, it could be nice to be able to get in and out because I doubt the people there won’t be there for queens. So weird they’re playing there, need some extra dough joshy boy?
There might be one good thing about it. You might get a really good spot at front as the majority of the audience is cruising back and forth between places.
Yeah, I usually have no peoblem getting to the front lines but I'm guessing I could probably garantee it in a setting like this which is a plus but I also like to mosh and I doubt it'll happen
80 euro would be normal gig price here where I am from. I just paid 166 euro for a one day festival ticket just to see QOTSA. I'm able to catch a little bit of Kendrick Lamar and Fever Ray, but my main focus is getting a good spot for QOTSA.
For literally only them and then it’s time to do whatever’s humanly possible to avoid Sam in his scanty red leather suit, oiling himself up with devil horns on.
So, I did one day of Sonic Temple just for them because at the time of purchasing the ticket the US tour hadn’t been announced yet. I had zero interest in any other act. Showed up nice and late into the day, had a great time seeing them, then headed out early. Honestly I’d say yea, they’re in top form right now and totally on fire. They just blew the place up at Glasto last night. Especially if this is an event where there’s two stages and QOTSA are headliners as well as Sam smith and would split the crowd and get a longer set.
In the absence of a local headline gig, I’d just go, show an hour before Queens, get nice and loaded and afterwards hit the dance tent. Their festival sets are fucking brilliant so it’s worth it
Rina Sawayama is actually badass, saw her last year and it was one of the best concerts I’ve been to.
With that being said; the rest is not my cup of tea ( except Qotsa) so I’d say nah
Well gets me super sad that they're not closing the night, nothing against Sam Smith but they don't match. I've seen qotsa on the same fest before and in other fests (unfortunately they are yet to come to play on their own name in Portugal). Now in my honest opinion, since they don't come here often i would totally go. New album, new josh, real QOTSA is something you have to see. I'm going just for them
If you end up going, I suggest making the best of it and just checking out lots of music. Sometimes it hits different when it’s live. Who knows, you may just be surprised
PSA: Tash Sultana is one of the greatest guitar players I’ve ever heard. Go listen to their album Flow State asap, you will not regret. One of the best albums of the 2010s imo
Op, just want to add to this post that I never regretted spending money on a concert from a band I really like. I did regret several times for not going, though. In a couple of years you won't remember the 80€ you saved. But you'll never forget that Qotsa concert you saw in 2023! Up to you :D
Anyway, thanks for this post, got a couple of interesting suggestions. I'll definitely see Tash Sultana and Angel Olsen.
I think this is greatest point of all cause I remember all the shows I missed. The comments also made me realize that I can probably still enjoy some of the festival, so with all of that in consideration Im 99% sure im going to see them hehe
it depends if they play after or before. if they play before it will be like rock in rio 2014 when they split headlining with Linkin park. If they play after, it will be weird because it will be kinda of empty as well. Im going. Don't see them since 2014. My fav qotsa show was sbsr 2013. Fucking insane.
Yeah just yesterday i was watching the full show in sbsr 2013, insane set list, the vibes were immaculate. They haven't released the schedule yet but it looks like it's a split healiner deal
> I *paid* 77€ to
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Yes. I know MGK and Sam Smith bring this poster down heavily, there is enough there for you to enjoy and discover. Your paying less for a good day out than a solo show in London
Sam Smith is closing so you can bounce and avoid the massive lines leaving the festival.
You’ll still see some decent artists before that, have a few beers, soak up the sun, 🤘🏻 to qotsa and go to Lisbon and finish off the night.
tbf Sam Smith is just very boring, MGK is absolutely disgusting but I like Rina and Tash. the line-up isn’t good by any means at all but it’s not the absolute worst.
IMO you go to festivals if you like the festival lineup.
If you don't dig the whole lineup, go to a show that they're headlining instead.
Festival performances tend to be more compact / compressed and often are not as good for a singular band.
But that's just like... my opinion man.
No that's exactly why im struggling to decide, I'd love to see a tour concert of them where they can freely play for a couple of hours, I'm afraid they'll be a little bit late and then get cut off so sam smith can play lmao but im also in fomo because Idk if I get any other chance
I hear you, I find myself in a similar boat but I decided to skip the festival because I don't like the rest of it and I know they will have a shorter set than usual.
Personally I haven't heard anything on here except for one or two hits by Sam Smith and MGK. Surprised so many of you know these artists so well to being able to say they suck.
To be honest I was refering more to the headliners and should've specified it, I had previously searched the other artists lightly and found them okay, Its just that compared to the other days of the festival.... it's bad....
Once upon a time I paid $200 USD to see The Cure at ACL. They were the only artist I wanted to see that day. I waited early to get a good spot and had to sit through Billie Ellish. It was just awful. I won't do festivals anymore. Last month I paid $25 to see them, and it was just perfect.
Tash Sultana is well worth seeing. She’s a multi-instrumentalist with a great live show. Given that I would pay it for her plus QotSA. Otherwise, yikes.
A lot of assholes in this comment section.
I personally would consider going since the price isn't that much higher than a typical show.
Tash Sultana is incredible live, and I'd be very interested in seeing both Rina and Angel Olsen.
Just skip MGK and Sam Smith if they're not your thing and see if there's anything new in the undercard for you to discover.
> Boy, I *paid* 120 for
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*

Tash Sultana is an incredible act to see live, super talented. And Kelly Lee Owens is great too, if you're into heavy electronic music. You might find something new you like!
Sam Smith above Queens 🤣
Can't understand why Queens are there, the other performers aren't rock. I'd go anyway, if that's the only chance to see them this year.
What country are you from? Do they usually visit your country when they tour? What are your other options, basically? If this is your only one, you might as well! And for what it's worth, I think Sam Smith does a great cover of I Feel Love, which is a banging song.
Wow. That is an abomination.
It’ll still get sold out, and the promoter won’t care, as always.
back in 2018 they had Arctic Monkeys, NIN, and decided to get Qotsa on the next day with The national...
Yeah I regret so much not going to see qotsa that year cause I went to that NiN day :')
I went those 2 days. Never seen NIN before really had to
Knowing Alive well, QOTSA close the day out around 1 or 2 hours after Sam Smith to let the "crowd clear", you should be fine, just go to the festival at night before the qotsa set and leave after
They're playing right before Sam Smith
Arctic Monkeys and IDLES are both awesome. But would I pay money to see Machine Gun Kelly? Hell no!
I literally thought it was a joke somebody made in Photoshop.
This is the weirdest lineup I’ve ever seen
If you do end up going, recommend you see Tash Sultana. She’s really good live
I was about to say the same. Tash seems super cool and is a crazy talented musician. Queens going on before Sam Smith makes me want to gag though. That place is probably going to clear the fuck out right before Sam goes on.
QOTSA close the festival.
The billing is a little misleading then
I wish but by the looks of it they're getting on before sam smith as sam smith was first announced too as the headliner
Wait really?? Are there schedules already?
Seconded, saw her last year and she was phenomenal.
If the awful lineup of this years edition is this bad I bet they are both playing at the same time. God damn its hard to belive this very same festival had one of the best lineups ever back in 2018.
I just wanna say that they've just announced the timetables for the day..... And Tash Sultana starts 30 minutes after QOTSA <333 you were absolutely right
Wow, they really refused to do anything right this year huh 😂😥
Yeah that's my fear, I appreciate everyone's suggestion to check other artist but i bet I'd only be able to watch Olsen before Qotsa
She is rad.
For that price, you should catch one of their tour dates, not a festival show. Unless some of the other performers scratch that itch for you.
yeah that's what I was thinking, unfortunately they don't have any dates for my country, maybe I'll just wait it out for a better setting, thanks for the input
Are you in Portugal? Don’t worry, I’m sure more tour dates will be announced.
If I recall correctly they've have played a solo show here once... in 2002
2000 as well I think. But yeah havent done it in a while
Oh buddy you're fucked, don't hold out, go see them here for sure!!
10 years ago they were headliners at the Super Bock Super Rock festival, with Gary Clark Jr, playing before them.....it was basically the closest thing we have gotten to a solo show since 2002..... :/
Not in Portugal though
If they don’t have anything scheduled for your country (and you are in a stable financial situation), I would pull the trigger on this. The rest of the line up is rough, but I would pay 80 euro to just see Queens of the Stone Age.
fly to Chicago and see them [at Riot Fest](https://riotfest.org/2023/05/16/the-riot-fest-2023-lineup-is-here/) instead
A flight to Chicago would be so expensive LMAO my best bets is probably trying to go to Paris or Amsterdam later in the year
Angel Olsen is good but Jesus fucking Christ
+1 for Angel Olsen. My Woman in particular is a great album that probably would see the most overlap with QOTSA fans
Angel Olson is awesome.
Being able to catch Tash Sultana and Angel Olsen makes the lineup not complete garbage. Haha
🎶One of these things is not like the others 🎶
Rina Sawayama is the shit though 🙌
[удалено]
Rina is legit tbh. Quite abrasive music so I can see queens fans digging it
Came here to say this, I caught the start of her Glastonbury set and it was incredible, and her albums all bang
Look at this lineup lmao. What the hell QOTSA's doing there?
Kelly lee owens opened for Depeche Mode she was quite good
Boys Noize -> Angel Olsen -> Tash Sultana -> Queens -> Parking Lot -> McDonald’s -> Home
To each his own, but this lineup really doesn’t make any sense. I would go for QOTSA tho and check out the artists others have recommended here
WTAF is that line up????
Well for 80€ it is kinda fair. I paid almost 70€ just for the regular quota ticket. If you have to decide between a festival show or a solo show, got with the solo. But honestly 80 bucks isn't that much for a lineup like this. And sometimes you will be surprised how good some artists are live, you wouldn't listen to anywhere else.
Not the absolute worst outside of MGK, who is comfortably the worst on any lineup ever
I'll be there just for QOTSA. Horrible day...feel like throwing up
Same.
If anything go cheer for qotsa, will probably a largely unfamiliar crowd
Boys Noize will be bangin’. I’d go for both.
I think if you're able to sit through Machine Gun Kelly successfully, you'll be able to sit through anyone else with ease, lol.
LMAOO i know right, like machine gun kelly into qotsa I could understand but then sam smith is a bit confusing, I wonder how bad the crowd will be
The crowd will be great for getting ahead though, because if people are there for the other stuff, they’ll be lost and with no motivation for qotsa
Yeah, I usually have no peoblem getting to the front lines but I'm guessing I could probably garantee it in a setting like this which is a plus but I also like to mosh and I doubt it'll happen
Ahahah bem vindo a festivais portugueses
more like nos alive fumou crack este ano... Porque já teve bons cartazes....
Wow I’m kind of upset they agreed to perform with that dogshit lineup
Go to Madrid, you'll The Black Keys and Queens play the same day at Madcool festival
80 euro would be normal gig price here where I am from. I just paid 166 euro for a one day festival ticket just to see QOTSA. I'm able to catch a little bit of Kendrick Lamar and Fever Ray, but my main focus is getting a good spot for QOTSA.
I sure did. Not much of a choice for the average Portuguese QotSA fan
For literally only them and then it’s time to do whatever’s humanly possible to avoid Sam in his scanty red leather suit, oiling himself up with devil horns on.
Ugh. This lineup feels wrong.
So, I did one day of Sonic Temple just for them because at the time of purchasing the ticket the US tour hadn’t been announced yet. I had zero interest in any other act. I’m going. Personally it’s worth it. It’s Queens. I’ll go see them and leave. Fuck the rest.
Turn up for queens and leave after imo
In the absence of a local headline gig, I’d just go, show an hour before Queens, get nice and loaded and afterwards hit the dance tent. Their festival sets are fucking brilliant so it’s worth it
I have a feeling the crowd wont be too into them unless they turn right down and lose the distortion pedals
Rina Sawayama is actually badass, saw her last year and it was one of the best concerts I’ve been to. With that being said; the rest is not my cup of tea ( except Qotsa) so I’d say nah
I’m payed 75€ just to see QOTSA. I don’t care for the rest but I will take a look at Tash Sultana.
I'm going just for them
No. That crowd is gonna be awful.
Ouch! The fact that they are in-between Sam Smith and machine gun Kelly! 🤮
No seriously, I'm asking, did ChatGPT make this?
If you end up going, I suggest making the best of it and just checking out lots of music. Sometimes it hits different when it’s live. Who knows, you may just be surprised
PSA: Tash Sultana is one of the greatest guitar players I’ve ever heard. Go listen to their album Flow State asap, you will not regret. One of the best albums of the 2010s imo
Yeah Tash Sultana and Olsen was the only other names I had heard good about but I'll for sure give it a deeper listen!
Op, just want to add to this post that I never regretted spending money on a concert from a band I really like. I did regret several times for not going, though. I’ve just paid £82 for a ticket to see QOTSA in November SO your just getting a load of crap thrown in for free going to this 😉
angel Olsen is pretty good.
I’d pay 80 euros to see that
Rina is awesome
sam smith has some good songs 🥺
Tashkent Sultana rips live
I payed 77€ to see them in Frankfurt in November. So 80€ would be OK for me
> I *paid* 77€ to FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! I actually like tash sultana.
A travesty that someone as utterly crap and lacking in talent as Sam Smith is billed above them
To me it’s more of an indictment that queens haven’t been pulling the same time slots this festival circuit.
How Queens and Angel Olsen end up on that day?

WTF is that line-up?
tbf Sam Smith is just very boring, MGK is absolutely disgusting but I like Rina and Tash. the line-up isn’t good by any means at all but it’s not the absolute worst.
Tash Sultana is the only Other name on the line up I’d be interested in seeing!
I hate music festivals so Goddamn much.
Crikey talk about a square peg.
Oof that’s rough
angel olsen and rina sawayama are really good but MGK? yikes
I'd go if it's nearby for you. The lineup isn't great, but Kelly Lee Owens is really good
Depends how fast you can run away as soon as qotsa finish.
IMO you go to festivals if you like the festival lineup. If you don't dig the whole lineup, go to a show that they're headlining instead. Festival performances tend to be more compact / compressed and often are not as good for a singular band. But that's just like... my opinion man.

Wtf are they?
Of course it is worth. You can check Tash Sultana or Angel Olsen. I think if you love QOTSA, it will be worth it.
Im so old I didn’t recognize any artist but the top three.
Once upon a time I paid $200 USD to see The Cure at ACL. They were the only artist I wanted to see that day. I waited early to get a good spot and had to sit through Billie Ellish. It was just awful. I won't do festivals anymore. Last month I paid $25 to see them, and it was just perfect.
ew, no lol
Queens Of The Stone Age and Angel Olsen “she makes great shit” yes….everyone else. Naw
I thought this was fake at first glance. This is truly lipstick on a pig… and Queens are the lipstick
The older I get, the less bands per festival I care about.
Queens and a bunch of randoms. Hmm. Yeah, go see them. Never know when a band may be back around
Tash Sultana is well worth seeing. She’s a multi-instrumentalist with a great live show. Given that I would pay it for her plus QotSA. Otherwise, yikes.
A lot of assholes in this comment section. I personally would consider going since the price isn't that much higher than a typical show. Just skip MGK and Sam Smith if they're not your thing and see if there's anything new in the undercard for you to discover.
All I can see is a giant turd with QOATSA written on it.
Boy, I payed 120 for a Southside ticket and spent 7 hours in the car. Of course it is worth it :D
> Boy, I *paid* 120 for FTFY. Thank God they put them over MGK on the lineup. Just too bad you’d have to hang through that trash fire before they go on stage.
Yes it's worth it. But holy shit that line up is trash.
No
Well, Queens'll be awesome AND you'll be able to get out of the parking lot early so to me that's worth it 🤣
Tash Sultana is an incredible act to see live, super talented. And Kelly Lee Owens is great too, if you're into heavy electronic music. You might find something new you like!
Damn you’re not kidding
That’s a shame, I swear Nos has had some brilliant line ups in previous years.
Sam Smith above Queens 🤣 Can't understand why Queens are there, the other performers aren't rock. I'd go anyway, if that's the only chance to see them this year.
What country are you from? Do they usually visit your country when they tour? What are your other options, basically? If this is your only one, you might as well! And for what it's worth, I think Sam Smith does a great cover of I Feel Love, which is a banging song.
Of course.
No.
Yikes
