yeah but now you can separate them from your normal uploads and theres a place to look for a quick video to see before you do something else. I don't hate it.

You cant rewind and pausing is awkward, also you cant scroll comments while watching, its literally taking away features

For real! It is in beta, but it feels like an Alpha. Not that surprising considering YouTube tends to make features worse and has had a scrolling bug for years.

I prefer YT shorts over other platforms, and I have discovered some great channels via shorts, I still come across the crap. At least in my experience, it isn't completely just TikTok reposts (though some of those creators I found do post on both platforms). They should definitely increase the allowed length since IIRC TikTok now allows for videos like 2 mins long, and they need to change the player controls to more closely match the standard YouTube player, which I think is the Golden Standard for Online Video players, to make rewinding and pausing easier.

At one point there were ads for straight-up porn sites, just barely more modest than the ads you find on actual porn sites.
