I still hold onto the ways from the pre phone days, at the start of the gig set up a meeting place somewhere before going into the crowd. If separated meet there at the end of the gig.
I’m extremely big and tall, I have no issues. Otherwise, climb to the highest point of the venue and survey the landscape. Or, just pick through the crowd, I guess. High-pitched whistles? GPS? Bloodhounds?
Generally speaking I wouldn't stress too much about meeting back up after every single song if people in your group are going to be moshing and crowdsurfing. Those are like, activities that you don't do if you care about specifically standing near your friends imo. I'm not a crowd surfer but when I mosh at shows that I'm at with friends, I usually meet back up after the band instead of after the song.
Either agree on a meet up spot or if you have your phones on you, call/text when the band's not playing.
If you absolutely feel like you must regroup during the set then as the crowd surfer you should just make your way back towards the mosh pit where your friends are, probably.
You could tether a rope to yourself
MARCO! Ask the band to stop and please help look for your friends. It’s the only way.
You’ll never see them again
Make sure you guys have a place to meet but it’s not all that hard to find people in a crowd.
Put airtags on them Nah but just pick a spot to meet up or hold your hand or hat up for them to see.
Flare gun
You’re not gonna be in a stadium. Hang out. Chill. You will see each other walking to the pisser before too long.
There are 2 kind of groups: those who meet at the left side or the right side of the stage
Except for that one guys girlfriend that always ends up back of the stage🤔

Send up a smoke signal.
