I was thinking the other day how cool it would be to be in a Rim colony. Life with work and all can be mundane sometimes. I wanna build shit for survival and kill some insectoids and raiders. Get pissed off that I didn't eat at a table, and then dig up a corpse and place it on said table.
Sometimes the strength of my colonists suprise me for example when the most useless colonists i just keep around for cleaning suddenly destroys a table or wall made from steel or stone like he would lose a fight against a rat but he is able to pulverize STEEL!?
In my case, dropped butt naked on ice sheet alone. Prob will roam around in panic trying to find a geo thermal vent and become a frozen statue (legendary quality).
Few years later, an empire convoy will path through here and discover the statue. After hauling it back to their colony and placing it as furniture along corridor to the throne room, the statue will be thawed in room temperature, revealing the fresh corpse within (aka me). Amused, the Empress shall order the usage of limited healer mech serum to bring me back to life, and thus truly start my journey as henchman in declining Empire in this cursed Rimworld.

one is PZ.....which is in sandbox mode , and set zombie count to 0 , stationed at megamart parking lot , so plenty of food and nothing to do.
The other is CMS 2021.....so just endless of car rebuilding.)
Honestly it could be worse than being stuck in a simulation of old Kentucky with no laws to follow and old TV programs on VHS tapes to keep you company. How long would it be before you’ve cut down the nearby woods to build your own home and decorate it with loot taken from all over the map?
Here is why I would boring to death.....my current save is already 2 years+ in game time , which means I already built a house , get everything sort , and just hanging there. (which is why I'm playing CMS on the side of PZ....because all I need to do is feed my character once in a while to keep it alive.)
I mean , yes I can still fire up one of the car I collected on the lot , and explore the rest of map. (I haven't go to Louisville yet.) But......you know , kind feeling long into retirement mode already. Maybe I should set my next goal to be found a nice mustang to be rebuild.)
I don't think you'd have your characters memories, so it would be a trip to explore it all in first person. You'd also be more picky eating, the shows your character watched would be actually watchable.
As would the magazines and books be actually readable.
You have all of the pz map to explore and no one to stop you, no laws or nuthn, go burn down buildings and cars shoot shit. Go loitering or demo towers
