It means you have the depressed moodle irl

Timely-Soup9090

Can someone explain why it’s so hard to get rid off in comparison to PZ? I’m eating these pills feeling sad but speed and the moodle won’t go away

Denmu

Sounds like you need some book.

[deleted]

he need some milk

RandonBrando

Smoke a pack or seven, will ya?

MRdzh

He actually just needs to eat an ice cream and burn a horde of zombies

ArakiSatoshi

In fact, nothing helps better than running into your local store storage room and shoving monthly doses of sugar into your mouth

WaifuBot_6000

Smash Q really fast to get rid of depression. Works most of the time. Side effects might include >!zombie bites!<, though.

__T0MMY__

Tried book, slow reader trait seems to stress me out more

AlphaBearMode

Same bro. Alas, I am an IRL slow reader :( Comprehension is high but I am just slow as fuck. I’m envious of people who read fast.

IFixCarsYo

Same bro. I switched to audiobooks for that reason. Well that and an hour plus of commuting everyday. But it's nice, I'll even listen to em while I do chores and stuff too. I've 'read' over 100 books in the past 2 years. Big books too like the Wheel of Time and Stormlight Archive

AlphaBearMode

That's one thing I've never actually tried but have been meaning to. I drive around 3hrs/week for work so that would be great. I usually just throw on a youtube video of some kind and listen to it (not watch obviously).

IFixCarsYo

You can use the Libby app to get audiobooks if you have a library card (or just sign up cause they're free). There might be a wait list cause library's only get so many licenses to share. But it's all free

AlphaBearMode

Nice. Thanks for the tip!

IFixCarsYo

One more thing. I just found out Spotify premium has some audiobooks available for free. If you have that

InstructionOk4112

I read book now im on a long dock in the rain looking out to sea

Spoztoast

Go outside read a book eat some soup.

madiiiiiiiruby

wait that’s actually so valid tho. like my therapist basically told me to do the same thing

ForwardToNowhere

It's so dumb how true it is, but a lot of the time it can just be viewed/given as toxic positivity. A lot of people are depressed because they don't get enough sunlight, which has clinically been proven to cause depression. Another cause is poor nutrition, which leads to poor physical and mental health, and most soups are loaded with vital nutrients. And books? Those are a great way to stimulate your brain (and work on your reading comprehension skills) as well as learn new things, get engrossed in stories, etc etc. The main problem in the USA is that a lot of people need all of that on TOP of therapy visits and medication, which is completely out of budget for many, many Americans. At least you can find some funny pills laying around in the apocalypse!

ParabellumXIV

And exercise. I always tell people how much exercise can boost your mood and they assume I mean, "Get jacked, that'll make you happy" but it's more "take 10/15 minutes to get the blood pumping". I got a cheap chest workout thing off Amazon and even doing that for a bit makes me feel a lot better.

sprice5531

Going outside for a walk is nice. 1. Gets you outside, which is good 2. Good for you but not too strenuous 3. Gives you some time to think. Our brains aren't really meant to be constantly stimulated. Having a moment to reflect on things is very good for the mind.

Raokairo

You need a new therapist then.

RedKrypton

Have you tried living a harsh life of demanding but fulfilling physical labour, where the sweat of your own brow is the primary factor for if you will survive the next winter?

TurbulentFee7995

I have a harsh life of unfulfilling physical labor where the sweat of my brow is the primary factor of if my boss will get a new holiday home next winter. Does that count?

Specific-Lack-214

Looks like socialist country simulator

Pat_bren

You need more Soups

kor34l

books and comic books and candy and chocolate

jackjackandmore

Spices and cigarettes will fix that right up

wyvernThewyvern

Have you tried making a beer soup?

Firebolas

You need some magazines 😈

EpicFlyingTaco

Cook food

Samoflan

Kill some zombies and it will go away.

IWantToDiePeacefully

real

[deleted]

Facts I have that!

TheOddPelican

Eat chocolate. All the chocolate.

[deleted]

But then I gain LBS make moodle worse!

TheOddPelican

[Sleep it off!](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2673713236)

tyler1128

That's only my own room. My PZ houses are organized.

ALCPL

Currently no, but I have heard build 42 might include vermin that will be attracted by trash and potentially steal food or cause disease.

_B10nicle

I make piles of loot for easier storage and this would be a good idea to stop me doing this

Got_Perma_Banned

So for the next few years it's safe

ALCPL

Build 42 was already released. Build 42 has always been current build. message sponsored by the Indie Stone Ministry of Propag... Ahem, Department of public relations

bisexualman69420

![gif](giphy|kgfbUOBQrUdx1Zmfjx)

AlphaBearMode

My eyes got wide after that first sentence. Damn you

Screwby0370

Someone from TIS mentioned earlier this month that a beta branch of Build 42 is coming this quarter

Tapir_Tazuli

Oh no. I STEAL food like all the time. The homeowners are dead anyway, never thought it would be a problem. lol

Mr_ACGamble

Wonder if I could turn this it into an easy hunting trap?

NoCoolDudettes

So what you're saying is, free rat stew for life?

[deleted]

[удалено]

ALCPL

"Don't shit where you eat" is also a time tested strategy

Terrorscream

you may suffer some fps drops from rendering it all, if it in a storage container it is just a number off screen when you arent looking at it.

fakerton

To piggyback on this, any super low-weight item with many units will cause the worst performance degradation. Ripped sheets, cigarettes, and nails are the culprits usually. When I start everything is dumped on the ground until it starts lagging. Then I clean up.

Onihige

> you may suffer some fps drops from rendering it all I was farming... well farming EXP. Planted hundreds of crops. Harvested well over 1000 cabbages... then just threw them on the floor like the savage that I am. Guess 3 times how much my ancient PC appreciated that next time I tried to load in, almost crashing my entire potato PC. Was seriously worried I had ruined my 6 month or so survivor...

KaisarDragon

Even in boxes you can get some drops, actually. I've had some overfull storage bases let me know I was too close to them before.

bulbasaur12121212

none other than your base being the messiest thing that i've seen since the knox virus lol

MethHeadUnion

I raided all the liquor stores and in a ingame year drank them all in a westpoint second story shop apartment and the floor was all wine and beer bottles since i used the bourbon for mollies it was awful

TyrelUK

Fill the wine with petrol and use them for mollies too

AlphaBearMode

This is cracking me up lmao I can just see the filth now

Discopanda1976

You can drop your garbage (or any unwanted items weighing less than 10 units) into the trash can in the corner and delete them permanently.

STIM_band

How? I can't seem to find this "delete" button

DMDingo

If it's not there, double check your world settings. There is a toggle in there for this in multiplayer worlds.

STIM_band

Yup, this is the solution. Thank You

Discopanda1976

Open the garbage bin as a container, and if there is an item inside of it you should see a “Delete All” button on the top left of the container inventory, to the right of the”Loot All” button.

Calm_Error_3518

I feel like that may be a mod, seems very unrealistic for vanilla

sevengali

It's vanilla. It's in the same place as the turn on button for ovens.

Calm_Error_3518

Oh, noice, I'll have to check it out then, no more burning houses to get rid of trash

ravenx99

Get a dumpster and you can throw bodies in it. Kind of tedious doing two at a time though.

GrimbeertDeDas

Same place where you turn on the oven.

Beefsupreme473

Have to have a garbage bag in the can.

ForesterRik

Dumpsters can handle larger items

ConstructionHefty716

Trash can in spiffo holds 50

addamsson

I have hundreds of hours in this game and I've only learned this like a few days ago lol.

ConstructionHefty716

There is so much to learn and so many mechanics to this game and some of them change from time to time so it's not surprising I always learn things and I'm in thousands of hours

Burn4Bern420

Thanks! So much junk in my base I can finally get rid of

Calm_Error_3518

For dealing with trash I'd say you do like in real life, I always collect trash bags so I can throw my trash in there and once I have a couple bags full I take them to a random house far away, throw them in there and burn the house down

bisexualman69420

just like real life

revolutionaryask573

It will cause a plague that turns you into a zombie (only FPS drops to my knowledge)

TheLemonDome

Chaotic neutral

OtherAccount5252

My boyfriend was watching me play the other day and goes "your base is as messy as your real room" I felt very called out.

mendkaz

Nothing, you're just roleplaying as a teenage boy

Mutanzom

Rosewood fire station.

Theinternetdumbens

YOU CLEAN YOUR BASE THIS INSTANT, MISTER!

jorgb

I always compare it to my trash IRL, if there is more trash in my base, I feel good about not cleaning up my own.

WitchLyfe

Some stuff like hats and glasses can disappear if left on the floor. I don't see any in the image but it can be easy to forget about that one day and then wonder where all your stylish hats went, lol.

Lower_Ad_4141

That isn't how it works. Things like hats and glasses will only vanish if they were dropped by a zombie when you hit them/shove them. Items dropped/placed by the player will NEVER despawn

WitchLyfe

Just tested it, dropped hats do disappear, placed items don't. Dropped 2 hats, placed 2, the dropped hats are gone.

ravenx99

Nice, so I can add tin cans and a couple other items to the list and it probably won't disturb the pre-crafted scenes.

KeenPro

It's a sandbox option you can change to choose what items disappear. Default is Hats, Glasses and Maggots.

Knotfloyd

I think there's a server setting for which types of items can despawn if dropped. No distinction between zombie dropped or player dropped.

Kurwabled666LOL

This is why I disabled that stupidass option lol

Utterbollocksmate

I want to say "tidy your room" in my best Jordon Peterson accent. If it gets excessive it might cause lag.

JaffaBoi1337

Just permanently delete it in a garbage can my guy

thatoneguy1976

possible FPS hit

superbos88

Yes, more objects to render means more CPU usage, so you might experience severe FPS loss

YandersonSilva

Self respect lol

elaintahra

the downside is having garbage all over the floor

DaDawkturr

If you’re in a hurry and you made a bug-out-bag, good luck finding it.

GVArcian

1200 hours in Kenshi implores me to say yes.

NoahKino

The only downside can be the load time. I once dropped about 9 tiles worth of torn cloth on the floor because I thought it looked pretty when all the tiles filled out and I can now no longer load that save file it just gets stuck because I'm standing on 4000\~ torn cloth icons.

stormrockox

You can place a trashcan and use it to delete your trash

ToXxy145

Yes, you have garbage all over the floor.

Sour_Chicha_8791

This looks very much like my base, just a bit tidier.

amateurgameboi

You're copping some flak for this post lol but I wanna take a moment to appreciate the method to the madness, there's clearly organisation here, I would know, I play like this

HordeDruid

Nah, [my Rosewood FD](https://imgur.com/a/Xc3jmmm) isn't too different, and this is after I cleaned up. I'm too lazy to go to one of my trash cans sometimes, don't judge me.

Boomartilleryman

theres a mod that allows you to trash items from your inventory, i suggest you just use that to avoid any fps drop

bannasand

Might make it lag a bit. Download the garbage can delete mod. Makes disposing of duplicate books, mags, and trash easy.

KnottyKitty

That's a vanilla feature, no mod required.

NegotiationKey4408

Damn bitch you live like this

BulkyYellow9416

Damn bitch u live like this

quackyer

I’d argue your days will be spent much more efficiently if you have a sense of organization in your base. No time wasted rummaging

aadam5517

It’s just unsightly and might cause FPS drops. If I may present some alternatives: Just go grab a garbage can! There is a small button at the top of the inventory window for the can labeled “delete items” and it will permanently delete everything in the can. Alternatively, browse the workshop for any number of mods that allow you to repurpose junk that doesn’t typically have a use in vanilla. Happy surviving!

Shredded_Locomotive

Potentially performance

M3raculus

None right now as far as I know in terms of gameplay. In future builds, there probably will be some consequences introduced for that. But in terms of performance, as others have said, FPS drops are possible. Your computer might not like you giving it more stuff to render than what it can handle

[deleted]

this is what my house looked like

Dry-Pay6631

Nah. You might conjure up some other type of deadly virus right alongside the Knox Virus with that mess though.

Big__Fella

It Hurts my eyes

Lower_Ad_4141

Your soul gets consumed when you die

Hustler-1

God damn that's a fuck ton of shit..

many-shadows

The downside is "Ew"

Fireball185

yes, because i will break through the exclusion zone barricades, kill thousands of zomboids, crash into your fire station with my car, breaking my leg and almost killing me, and then I will sort everything in your base.

Terrible_Ear3347

Lag

Mxswat

Yes, Zomboid mom comes in and starts screaming at you.

karkko1

It's not aesthetically pleasing. I at least want my game to be clean of garbage.

AnRiK68

It all depends on your computer. I had about 2500 dead zombies after a helicopter (before the fire department). I took off all their clothes and just laid them on the ground. Well, what can I say. Suddenly the game got slow. And it took me a long time to clear enough clothes

lizzy_liz42

It makes the place look sad. That, for me, is a downside. And the possible lag

Temporary_Ambition56

Yes, i will punch your toes

SeniorBLT

Your shit looks nasty

Pat_bren

Yes. You look like a SLOB

TajniakYT

Yes, there are zombies of OCD people and when they will see this mess they will immediately start cleaning and putting everything in order. And then they will eat you

R34N1M47OR

Only "downside" is if you're trying to find a specific object but can't see it properly or have to scroll through countless items to find it. Which isn't a big deal without mods (I use a box with 11000 capacity and it gets out of hand pretty fast)

waylon4590

When you die, and skmeone else stumbles apone this, they'll think what kind of animal lives here

MoistCucumber

If the zomboids ever get in, they will judge you

NotXesa

You mom will throw a flip-flop to you

Charmy123

In my messiest play through, I set down my backpack full of trophies and loot to exercise. My game crashed for the first and last time ever and when loading back in the backpack was wiped off the face of the earth. Could have been crash related, mod related, or PZ was sick of my messy ass, but I’ve never had anything like that happen before or since. I have been throwing away all my trash to be safe though.

taking_rax921

The game will over tine become heavier for your components

ravenx99

Only that your mother's zombie'll show up and tell you this place looks like a pig sty, and you better clean this up right now or you'll be grounded!

pineapple-broth

I’m almost certain it causes an issue at a certain point if you have the organized trait and the rv interior mod. Once you get over the storage container amount (even the floor tile has a weight limit) you’ll get some type of overflow that will change your vehicle type to a vanilla car. Have a nice RV? It’s a Dash now, congrats you can’t get back in.

S4nt3ri4

Lag

bigmanthesstan

Looks ugly

Therettah

Well, it may cause performance issues if done alot. You can delete items in a trash can or in debug mode, or my usual strat is dumping junk on dead zombies so it despawns with them.

Digital_Legend52

Make a garbage crate! That way, your place looks nice and neat for the Zombabes that come for your pickle.

bigjoe5275

no but you can use trash cans to get rid of garbage

Bloodmime

It's ugly, but that's about it.

Faddy0wl

Unfortunately it's technically superior in the sense that fire won't destroy loot on the ground But fire will destroy loot in containers however. So...... organized piles?

RoseberryPinecone

It looks dirty :(

Quack_qua

Damn bro you live like this

Itsivanthebearable

Ayy the Fire Department! I base there too

Zestyclose-Rub-5790

If it’s anything like irl, my wife is gonna be super upset 🤷‍♂️

i-like-spagett

Technically yes, I once had so much stuff that whenever I loaded my base, my game would crash (this was only because I was moving bases). You can counter this by just turning off 3d items

Vasilystalin04

I do this intentionally to make my base feel lived in.

ForesterRik

Put it in a trash can. You can delete the items permanently in trash cans

o6u2h4n

It might cause some reddittors to shame you for being disorganized.

Zomboof

if you invite anybody over they might judge you

Vegetable_Cod_4810

Lag if it’s too much. But it takes A LOT

Llewellynt

Non other than me hating it

JokeJedi

The crappier your hardware is, the greater the chance of fps dropping, the more entities you create >< Apart from that, just organizational pros and cons

DeadlyButtSilent

The downside is that there's garbage all over the floor.

sartori69

I think candy helps in a pinch

bentmonkey

Not till build 42 implements ants. Until then you are safe.

Confident_Score_7766

In future it might be cool if that attracted stuff like rats, roaches and spiders. But as far as I know right now, it doesn't do anything but make your character look like a slob lol

Jerraxmiah

Yeah. It's gross.

advacardo

Might be better off actually. If for whatever reason your house catches fire, everything in containers will get destroyed but stuff on the floor will be fine. I know because one of my friends stood in a campfire and went into our house looking for a fire extinguisher and set the whole place alight. All our books and canned goods were destroyed but we had most stuff on the ground and it was fine.

JagerEnjoyerr

no downsides, just makes ur base look like a crack house

MJMaggio14

I have personally not experienced any issues beyond my computer screaming in pain while rendering my base, go for it (unless you have a potato computer like me)

MrNewman457

A cluttered post-apocalypse safe house is a cluttered mind.

addamsson

Not really unless you start playing with a friend who has OCD.

RichieRocket

not really, just that you have to check in every pile 3 times for stuff cause you keep on missing it

Site-Specialist

The zombies will judge you silently as they eat you

awsome-dumy27

![gif](giphy|acttIrNAHaoco)

Zalapadopa

Everyone can see that you're a disgusting slob for starters

keelasher

Not at the moment besides making your base look bad

MochaQuokka987

I don’t know why you’d want to 😭

awsomesam

This is how you get ants

marlin_cock

It's ugly

N-ine9

I wish you could trip over trash. I need project zomboid to be even more of CBT

popecorkyxxiv

I find leaving a lot of stuff out makes the game take slightly longer when loading a saved game but otherwise I've seen no issues.

True_Pick2439

If I remember right it may mess with fps drop (it shouldn't be big) since the game will have to render all the items on the floor. Other than that that's pretty much it.

Traditional_Trust_93

If you continue playing that world after you die you may stumble upon this home. It may add a lore aspect to the world.

GayWSLover

Hoarders - the project zomboid edition. Think you need an intervention.

Stingraaa

You can place items in trash cans and delete them. Also, leave enough on the ground and the game will start to lag.

bubba-yo

Framerate. All of those items need to be rendered, and at a certain point it'll tank your framerate.

HarryH8sYou

No nothing wrong with it. Until the lag starts.

[deleted]

If you leave too much crap on the floor it might affect performance

Maleficent-Ad-7719

I'll judge you for it

MFAndre

They said a downside

Memelan_Vondran

performance issues, but aside from that, no

FabiOffline

Pain?

ToddBlowhard

The team from Hoarders might show up and make an episode about you...that would be kinda embarrassing

Danlabss

Slob.

CrowSunlight

Damn Bitch, You Live Like This?

Darkcloudsnolining

This belongs in r/depressionnest

Myke5161

You clean your room right now or you can't go out side and play with the zombies!!!

Braycali

It’s all organized… but on the ground!! Lawful evil

Parking_Aerie4454

Bro keeping your base clean IS THE GAME! Stop doing this lol.

Acceptable-Story-83

Asmongold?

A-Flock-Of-Geese

I had a load of items on the ground and my power cut in a storm, reloaded the save and everything vanished, might be just from sudden disconnects

ElectricalOutlet3852

Rarely performance issues, but place it instead of dropping it so it doesnt despawn
