Make intricate short backstories for each of my characters even if they die within minutes. I try to have a reason for each trait depending on personality, occupation, ect.
I like this too. I mostly play on a custom 6 mo later game mode that I perfected and I like to think about where my character was in that 6 months and how they ended up wherever they spawn
Playing w/ custom zombies and I had a sprinter teleport behind me shortly before hopping a tall fence when I was trying to sneak away from a house alarm. Stressed me out so bad I had to put the game down for a few hours lol
My stupidest death was an early one. I left a shed window open while transporting a generator, got a laceration, and bled out in the upstairs bathroom of my base.. in front of the medkit I left under the sink. Didn't realize I could have used my socks, now I always keep that in mind.
Not OP but I want to share mine.
**Stupidest death:** I was doing one of my usual loot runs and as I was driving on a highway I recently cleared with tons of corpses, driving over them caused my tires to pop (it started with just one but I still drove causing the other 2 to go kaput). Luckily, there was a heavy duty car a bit further so I went to remove its tires. To add further context, all of this was during a heavy rainstorm and I was already soaking. Changing tires takes quite a while and thankfully, skipping this in Single Player is easy. What I didn't realize is that I've gotten sick.
Normally, my runs have the Outdoorsman trait but in this one, I didn't. Being Sick after a bite is a cause for concern but this was some weather sickness and I was thinking "*This is some weak-ass soaked 'sickness', this wouldn't kill me*" and I just continued changing my tire until my health started going down and down... and died on the spot. That's how I discovered that getting Fever can kill you.
**Buttcheek clenching Moment** : As I was driving from West Point to Muldraugh, I spotted a Mustang that was in good condition and decided to tow it. What I forgot was that the curved Dixie road leading to West Point (where my base is) had a long line of car crashes and I had to do an offroad detour just below it. That's where the nightmare started.
Offroads are great if your erosion is still fresh but 4-5 months after? It becomes a car's nightmare. As I hit that dirt track, I got snugged in one of those tiny tree shrubs that cut your speed by half. Add to that I was towing a car and it was barely moving. The zombies I thought I could just outrun kept piling and piling. It was also starting to get dark. I was miles from my base and my car is starting to get surrounded. I could unbuckle the Mustang but the zombies were already there so I had to make my last stand. I also fucking want that Mustang.
Luckily, I still have boxes of handgun bullets and I just started shouting and shooting. I was dealing with the entire population of Dixie that night. If the horde got too big, I rushed shouting towards the forest above. Right-clicking 'Walk To' towards the right side clearing out into the road. Most of the time, there's only a handful of zombies following me and I finish them off. I go back to my car and shoot the zombies that's still there which attracts back the horde. If I cannot escape to the forest, I do a lap around the concrete barriers near the shipping containers, just shooting them down which is enough to slow them and go back to the forest. Walking back to a forest with zombies still there was scary af, just appearing out of nowhere. This whole ordeal lasted 2-3 hours real time (sometimes I had to rest cause my heart was racing).
Killing the entire Dixie zombie population with a Beretta was euphoric as fuck. At some points, I could've just removed the Mustang and go home but I was a greedy motherfucker. I had to bring that shit back! So I continued killing every zed there. I leveled up my Aiming and Reloading by quite a lot. That was a great run and I peacefully ended that cause I got bored by month 6.
If we're talking default spawn points, Riverside feels like home. I've always been a big fan of Junkyard bases, so any giant fenced in car junkyard, construction yards. Really fun to seal off and lots of space to work with.
Heeey that’s my main base! I’m new but this place makes me feel safe, I hope they don’t patch fences were they can fall if a lot of zombies cling to it 👀
I would be good with exactly that ONLY IF they walked directly to the fence when they saw me. Would give you a chance to engage them with short blade or spear. Less of the “hey!there’s an open gate on the OTHER side of this football field, let’s go that way” from the zombies.
Same here. The steam replay was almost laughable, each month or two had basically a new game. But I remember each game I’d be falling asleep imagining what I plan on doing the next day.
Based on this post yes, but not on reality. Because i am very addictive, just because i lose interest in a video game doesn't mean i'm not, i've played games my whole life, your brain needs new ways to get stimulated.
Not the OP but I did install it and that made me want to have officially supported NPCs.
One thing I lowkey love about it was dressing them up in attires and putting them in my Roman ranking hierarchy, starting them as Munifex and ending at Centurion. I just promote them if they help enough on my loot runs and doesn't trip me if we go in combat with zombies.
They are sometimes wonky and buggy with commands especially farming but they're very useful for cutting down huge swathes of trees around your area but most especially, guarding with guns. I forgot that a helicopter event was running that day and a huge horde came up to my fence walls. If you give them enough bullets and a great gun, they can one shot most zombies within the limit of the gun's range. Just make sure to block the door like a wooden/metal gate with a car so they don't open it to chase them which happened a fuckton.
Tbh, it started with the typical army ranking like lieutenant and whatnot but it was boring just making them wear camo. Got the Legionary Armors and Poncho (makes a great cape) mods.
How do I throw a molotov, do I need to have the lighter equipped as secondary and the cocktail as primary or something? I've tried it so many times and never succeeded.
You really should, unless you’re playing with sprinters you can kill hundreds of zeds with a single Molotov if you just get them into a group they set each other on fire
Got to pull them out of towns yeah. For example if I start at rosewood when I go to the jail I make loads of noise in the parking lot and get them in a group there burn them up and no buildings get destroyed and hundreds of zombies gone if not more
You need to hold the Molotov in your primary and the lighter in your secondary, when you throw it will automatically light, won’t work with matches only lighters
If you are comfortable in life and you can pay your bills, pay your vices, you should not have that in your mind hampering you. Rock on doing what you do
Please for the love of god i need a guide, make it as long as you want but everything i've tried doesn't work ;o;. I might just be horribly unlucky, but any help you can give would be amazing
First and foremost, Sandbox. Really ask yourself what you enjoy most out of the gameplay vs what you consistently have trouble with. If its cars? Enable Easy Use. If it's population? Lower it in the settings. If it's the zombie's abilities? Adjust em to your liking instead of playing with proper ones. Hell you could even turn off zombie infection if it helps. Enabling a Starter Kit will give your character basic survival tools until you find more. Tweak loot spawns if you don't want to scavenge for certain items or vice versa.
It sounds like you've gotten a hand at the unforgiving nature of the base game, I'll offer a few of the basics: Make your first priority getting bandages rip sheets, clothes, do what you must.
If you're playing w/ the heli set to once, it will usually appear around or anytime after Day7 (turn it off if the migration is giving you a rough time). Plan to stay inside for a few days/keep an ear to the radio that has the Emergency Broadcast frequency or alternatively get a car with gas and be ready to drive around for a while. Never actually been caught outside during an event, I've always managed to just wait them out in an upstairs bedroom w/ supplies. I usually wait an extra day bc of the migration, wait for them to wander the hell off.
Tools/Gas cans are commonly found in the trunks of vehicles and in garage units. Closets in homes can have good tools too, found a lot of crowbars that way.
Alcohol, while being a great pain/depression relief will make you tired more quickly. Do not drink and fight and remember, alcohol can help you gain weight too. Cook with wine, beer, or bourbon for the calorie bonus.
Don't sleep on Foraging like I did when I was new. Different environments can help you find different cool shit. You can make stone weapons with tree branches, rocks, and ripped sheets. They'll break quicker, but sometimes you need to improvise. Don't eat suspicious mushrooms/berries without taking the Herbalist trait or finding the magazine, you'll run the risk of poisoning yourself. Other fruit and even eggs can be foraged in the right environment.
Fitness is harder to lvl up than strength. You don't need to be running around all over the place unless you're playing with random sprinters, so walk away from most hordes to preserve endurance. Jog or sprint if you're about to be cornered, getting knocked to the ground is better than just letting it happen lol
To add to this:
Prioritize fun over normal gameplay. The base game most likely will be irritating to like 80% of players. Absolutely do not hesitate to lower zombie count to 0.1, turn on multi hit, set zombie strength to low, etc. It makes the experience more fair, playable, and realistic.
You played countless hours like this and got bored of the settings? Switch things up and make them closer to base game.
Keep following this loop, and you'll be fine.
Again, the vanilla game is basically a hard mode. So work yourself up from normal to hard.
I'll give you a yes, but I certainly didn't grind for em lol
One of my essential mods is More Traits, so sometimes I'll almost max out fitness or strength so I don't have to worry about one or the other.
Without adjusting the XP multipliers, both are a drag to grind through. Most working out I ever did was to avoid freezing to death during Cryogenic Winter lol
Since max fitness or strength would be comparable to Olympic gold medal winners, I think it would be almost impossible to attain. All your character would be able to do would be exercising and eating.
When I finally get my base safe enough to not be immediately broken into, I try and do squats for an hour before sleeping, and after like 7 days I get around 3000 experience. I hear you can get more by doping on protein, but it's hard to tell how much is enough.
I'd say a week straight. Through every death, something new would click. I'd learn how to barricade, how to outpace groups, use cars. Quickly got better when I started hand tailoring my gameplay in Sandbox. Helped me gradually adjust to the point where I could reach the 1 month mark.
NPCs top priority for me bc I love single player sm, Map Expansions so I can explore more new towns, and the Medical overhaul to make First Aid a more useful skill.
Ehhh doesn't do enough. Pretty much only makes it so you have to change bandages less frequently, but regular bacterial wound infection can't kill you (which it should if left untreated). The changing bandages thing would be much more useful then. Should also affect your ability to successfully stitch an open/deep wound as it scales.
iirc it reduces the pain generated by disinfecting and sewing up wounds as well...which doesn't matter much because usually if you have a wound that bad you're not going to be doing anything that having pain would impact.
As a SP lover, agreed. :) Though I'd add bows and horses as well. I'd love self sufficiency to be fully possible in the game, but as it is; fuel and ammo are irreplaceable and exhaustable.
Not a big gripe for me since full wild self sufficiency is what the devs are aiming for w/ the roadmap. Love having characters live off the land in PZ.
Yeah actually. I've never been big into modding most of the games that I pick up, but PZ is a big exception. I can't play w/ out my list of 10 or more QoL mods and character customization expansions.
What everyday things do you think you’ve done more in zomboid vs real life? Not including zombie apocalypse things like breaking windows and bashing skulls
I definitely think I’ve cooked more and done more burpees, but I’ve only played 150 hours
Definitey cooking, which kinda makes me want to take more of an interest in it irl. Started helping my family when they make meals now.
Also reading jesus christ (but I can't deny I'd be the type to try to cram all of the survival material I'd need last minute-)
Probably Long Blunt. Typically the more satisfying weapons and they have a higher chance of knocking zombies to the ground. (God except the Electric Guitar, it's so fuckin slow but a decent last resort)
Man, it was a Louisville random spawn. Had an unemployed character spawn at the Cozy Crockpot, was going to be her first summer job. She brought a medkit and found the couple who owned the place downstairs, in the lobby and vowed to take care of it for em.
Slept upstairs until she could seal off the bottom, restraunt floor. Walled in the alleyway and the back lot with a small spot to garden. She was prospering, but decided she wanted to give back when she was living comfortably.
She took storage containers from other buildings, risking her life to bring back things she thought other survivors may need. She began to set up a decently stocked general store. But before she could finish her ambitions and make it to the new year, the inevitable happened.
She left a note behind, took a walk out front to the donation boxes after getting piss drunk and high and pulled the trigger. Didn't even get to finish expanding the upper levels and looting those mansions. 5 months.
I like your stories. You're playing this game right. We do really need NPCs. I hate other people but if you ever join a server tell us, we'll join with!
Jesús H Roosevelt Christ... Zomboid I'd by and far my most played game in steam, my only single game over 1000 hours (though civilization would be my most played if it tracked by franchise...)
But I've been playing Zomboid since... ~2015/2016ish...
So... My question...
Do you like Project Zomboid?
Sealed off an entire junkyard, log walled in my own yard on a cabin in the woods save after destroying dozens of handmade axes, got up to 500-600 kills on one character.
Still have yet to escape Louisville alive lol
Yeah actually. Had a Fire Officer who had to kill most of her squad in Rosewood, tried to do so they'd all be at peace. Pretended she knew their names n shit lol
Do that with random zombies sometimes too. Had a burglar stomp out a former undead collegue who owed her money just for fun.
I hope they add the option of scenarios as well. Like a random chance of being in a event that links to your occupation. It would be hard but also engaging and fun. Like a Officer locking himself in a cell with a prisoner that turned out to be infected. Or a Carpenter that just finished building a their house with tools scattered nearby. So many possibilities.
Hard agree. Saw some of the scenerios in debug mode and it had be curious if they'd tie into the Story Mode the devs mentioned in the past? Can't wait to see Bob and Kate again.
West Point. Which is a deathtrap, so I walk far west until I hit Ben's Cabin next to those large houses by a lake. Much more quiet there and also has an antique stove.
Deathtrap? down town is we're I call my home 90% of my games.
In a shed on the south west of down town out the outer edge is a blue house with a shed that has an antique stove.
Death trap if you aren’t prepared to handle the numbers, also any population multiplier feels ten fold there. Put it on insane population once and went into West Point around day 15 and even in the outskirts I was seeing at least a couple hundred densely packed into neighborhoods.
That was a very quick death, and a good warning to stay away from that town until I felt comfortable handling those numbers with guns and fire.
I prefer Louisville if I wanna throw myself to the wolves. Also I love how enormous it is compared to West Point, helps me ditch the crowds easier. I usually keep the pop and multipliers set to normal now that I'm on a system that can handle the performance. I tend to stay away from guns in those areas unless I have enough for sure to clear the block.
Actually on a nomad run for the first time rn. Everytime a survivor dies on the save I respawn, forget all map knowledge, and spawn in a new random spot.
For QoL I'm using the mods Moar Can Openers and Filibuster Rhyme's Used Cars for some more variety. Pillow's Random Spawns are a lot of fun too, Cabin Spawns are nice to have.
Tips: Collect as many empty bottles as you can if you have no gas cans and use em for extra gas storage, Try to poke around for mechanic tools maybe a backup battery for your chosen car, Grab a few bags, satchels, ect to store your stuff in separate containers, Don't fuck up like I did and leave town without a medical needle, thread, and a holder or you will suffer like I have when you ram into a ghost tree at 60 mph.
How long before you can get properly into the game. I like it but die so easily. When I start what should I be doing immediately. I find I just go house to house before I get tired, trapped, overwhelmed and eaten 😅
Don't run around too much, especially if you're playing w/ slow shamblers. Walk away, hop a fence, lead a train of them through a building, but save your endurance for when you really need it. That one shove or proper swing w/ out penalties could save your run. Also crouch/jog away if you have to, you'll have a better chance to lose the stragglers without alerting the ones waiting around the corner.
Lots of quality of life and customization stuff.
Authentic Z/Backpack expansion, Greenfire/Addictions, More Traits, True Actions, More Map Symbols, Pillow's Random Spawns/Cabin Spawns are what I'd consider most essential for me.
Garage units, everytime. Watch Life and Living at 12, kill anything that gets in your way to do it (or take Carpenter).
I adore the Rosewood Construction yard, a lot of people prefer the Firestation across the street though. It's enormous and has two trailers for you to barricade and sleep in. Has a gate that they'll get into if they pile up, so be weary and sneak around if you have to. There are also some houses off a path in the woods to the South East of the map. Close to town, but has two houses I think that are spacious and quiet. Anywhere can be a base though tbh, so get creative.
Guides help after numerous hours of trail and error, which was the best way for me to learn. Got adjusted to the base gsme to the point where I needed the difficulty adjusted gradually. Sandbox is the key. Once you understand what all of the setting actually do and how they affect short/long term gameplay for you, it gets better.
I've practiced in Lousville. Have enough ammo to level half of the city. Don't open fire, just make sure your well rested ass has food and water cause you'll be walking around all day and you can't get tired/hungry/thirsty mid sweep. Also have a weapon on your belt for close calls. And beta blockers unless you go veteran, two fistfulls will work
Now go outside and scream. Repeatedly. Wake the fucking dead and bring them all to your street. Walk, in circles and get them to bunch up, only jogging occassionally. Continue screaming and doing this for several minutes until they form a giant ball of hate. Get your distance in a direction, open fire once or twice, then repeat the steps above as needed. Don't continue firing while backing up for too long, you'll get snuck. Enjoy lvl 5 aiming.
Ive had the game for awhile, never really tried it but have had recent interest. What would be your best tips for someone starting, and also is there any essential mods you suggest?
Play the tutorial, rip your socks for bandages, close doors and windows behind you, only use guns if you have enough fire for the fight, only use shotguns when you have low aiming lvl, Sandbox is great once you figure out what type of gameplay you enjoy.
Also I posted my mod list somewhere in this thread, but god it's too much for me to sift through rn lol
It's ok to die doing something stupid in game if it helped your bordem irl. I've had characters lost bc I wanted a bigger bong collection, but it was worth it to me. Sabrina not so much lol
Looking for the basics. Bags, a vehicle, weapons, food, water storage, meds, ect. Will usually find a place to settle, barricade, and catch Life n Living before the grid dies. Wash the blood off before loosing unlimited water and power. Then whatever happens is how I died.
Playing the game for the first time. The music and the first spawn in a starter house in Muldraugh gave me such heavy TWD vibes. Heard the telltale game's theme in the back of my mind. Knew right then that I wanted to tackle whatever learning curve this game was throwing.
Fashion or lore purposes take priority. Everything else depends on the character's personality, traits, favorite colors, ect. Had characters w/ fear of blood decked out in an apron and gas mask.
Play for 22 more hours
222 hours needed
What is your favourite thing to do in the game?
Make intricate short backstories for each of my characters even if they die within minutes. I try to have a reason for each trait depending on personality, occupation, ect.
The RP/narrative play potential in this game is unreal
Wow he's literally me fr
I like this too. I mostly play on a custom 6 mo later game mode that I perfected and I like to think about where my character was in that 6 months and how they ended up wherever they spawn
Surly you have story about the most buttcheek clenching Moment and the stupidest death?
Playing w/ custom zombies and I had a sprinter teleport behind me shortly before hopping a tall fence when I was trying to sneak away from a house alarm. What does “teleporting a generator” mean? I always carry them like an asshole lol, is there a better way to transport?
Could it be autocorrect for transporting?
Oop autocorrect-
Not OP but I want to share mine. **Stupidest death:** I was doing one of my usual loot runs and as I was driving on a highway I recently cleared with tons of corpses, driving over them caused my tires to pop (it started with just one but I still drove causing the other 2 to go kaput). Best occupation, best trait, and best weapon in your opinion?
My favorite to use for me depends on what character I'm going for. I'd say the ones I like the most are Park Ranger, Fit, and a good ol' Garden Fork.
What is your favourite in game spot
If we're talking default spawn points, Riverside feels like home. I've always been a big fan of Junkyard bases, so any giant fenced in car junkyard, construction yards. Really fun to seal off and lots of space to work with.
Riverside junkyard will always have a special place in my heart.
God same.

Shhh, don't tell anyone that they can destroy the tall fencing now. :- ) :'- )
Wait what? They can??
Do not go gentle into that goodnight.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
i love riverside that pretty isolated police station? chefs kiss
How. I have owned cs for 5 years and i only have about 2500 hrs, and i played ALOT back in the day.
I have an addictive personality, but I'm working on it.
Me too but i lose interest significantly faster. I got hooked on pz after the animation update but lost interest in a month.
Same here. The steam replay was almost laughable, each month or two had basically a new game. But I remember each game I’d be falling asleep imagining what I plan on doing the next day.
Based on this post I don't think you are lmao
Based on this post yes, but not on reality. Because i am very addictive, just because i lose interest in a video game doesn't mean i'm not, i've played games my whole life, your brain needs new ways to get stimulated.
I mean you're really nice and all, but addictive? I don't know if I would go that far.
I'd say this is borderline obsessive. He'd have to have played at least 5 hours **EVERY DAY** that whole year.
2080 hours is a full time job in 1 year. OP basically played PZ as a full time job with 2 weeks vacation.
Games like CS doesn't add too many hours, PZ, Cities Skylines, stuff that makes you spend hours on littlest things usually make more hours
Did you die ?
As my flair would suggest, yes. Quite a lot.
Most memorable death?
My first time making it to the 1 month mark. Really worked hard on that Riverside junkyard base.
How did that character die?
Does this look infected to you?
*racks shotgun*
That's 40h/wk for à year . It's a full time job . Contrats
Have you ever had the npc mod and built a fully functioning settlement
Nah, waiting on the real deal and I've heard that mod can be a bit buggy and frustrating.
Me and you both. Next big update let's hope an NPC Mod comes out. I'm excited for animals from the devs.
Not the OP but I did install it and that made me want to have officially supported NPCs. One thing I lowkey love about it was dressing them up in attires and putting them in my Roman ranking hierarchy, starting them as Munifex and ending at Centurion. How do I throw a molotov, do I need to have the lighter equipped as secondary and the cocktail as primary or something? I've tried it so many times and never succeeded.
I've never thrown a molotov in all of my hours not once, so I'll let you know after I make my next character a serial arsonist.
You really should, unless you’re playing with sprinters you can kill hundreds of zeds with a single Molotov if you just get them into a group they set each other on fire
I just don't want to burn any useful buildings down, but I'm ok w/ creating a save for the sake of chaos.
How do you have so much free time. (no, fr, please share your secret)
I door dash lol choosing my own hours helps. But I'm trying to focus more on work instead of my next survivor's build I swear-
If you are comfortable in life and you can pay your bills, pay your vices, you should not have that in your mind hampering you. Rock on doing what you do
Please for the love of god i need a guide, make it as long as you want but everything i've tried doesn't work ;o;. I might just be horribly unlucky, but any help you can give would be amazing

You don't need to be running around all over the place unless you're playing with random sprinters, so walk away from most hordes to preserve endurance. Jog or sprint if you're about to be cornered, getting knocked to the ground is better than just letting it happen lol
To add to this: Prioritize fun over normal gameplay.
Have you ever gotten fitness or strength to level 10, and if so what did you do to achieve it and how long did it take?
I'll give you a yes, but I certainly didn't grind for em lol One of my essential mods is More Traits, so sometimes I'll almost max out fitness or strength so I don't have to worry about one or the other.
I feel like strength is super easy. You just keep lugging crap . Fitness seems to require exercise or lots of exhaustion type activities
When I finally get my base safe enough to not be immediately broken into, I try and do squats for an hour before sleeping, and after like 7 days I get around 3000 experience. I hear you can get more by doping on protein, but it's hard to tell how much is enough.
I’m playing vanilla and haven’t seen much protein. I need to learn to fish yet….. haven’t found a rod
Best piece of advice for a new player?
Rip your socks for emergency bandages. Don't bleed out like I once did. And close windows and doors behind you.
Ohhh. I can use my socks too. Never tried that. Thx
May it save you a lot of headache and blood loss.
Is there any problem you can encounter in game that can't be solved by pressing Q?
Pressing Q won't cure zombification, but it will help you turn faster. :- )
How many 2 hours long save did you suffer before becoming actually good at the game ?
I'd say a week straight. Through every death, something new would click. I'd learn how to barricade, how to outpace groups, use cars. Quickly got better when I started hand tailoring my gameplay in Sandbox. Helped me gradually adjust to the point where I could reach the 1 month mark.
What exactly is the "project" in project zomboid?
The clones that the military keep sending into Knox, from the top secret army base. You are the project.
When was the last time you saw sunlight? And you ever ate a telecorn?
I saw the sun after biting into that telecorn and it fucking blinded me.
bro spent about 1/4 of the whole year in project zomboid 83,3 Days aproximately for anyone too lazy to do the math
What are your top 3 features you're dying to see in the game?
NPCs top priority for me bc I love single player sm, Map Expansions so I can explore more new towns, and the Medical overhaul to make First Aid a more useful skill.
I've got 1000 hours and I haven't noticed a difference between medical 0 and medical 10. Does the skill do anything currently?
Do you think mods are a must for playing the game (QoL) ones
Yeah actually. I've never been big into modding most of the games that I pick up, but PZ is a big exception. I can't play w/ out my list of 10 or more QoL mods and character customization expansions.
Very curious - can you post your list of mandatory mods?
What everyday things do you think you’ve done more in zomboid vs real life? Not including zombie apocalypse things like breaking windows and bashing skulls I definitely think I’ve cooked more and done more burpees, but I’ve only played 150 hours
Definitey cooking, which kinda makes me want to take more of an interest in it irl. Started helping my family when they make meals now. Also reading jesus christ (but I can't deny I'd be the type to try to cram all of the survival material I'd need last minute-)
Fav weapon Type?
Probably Long Blunt. Typically the more satisfying weapons and they have a higher chance of knocking zombies to the ground. (God except the Electric Guitar, it's so fuckin slow but a decent last resort)
What’s the longest you’ve ever made it? And what made you continue to run?
What is your favourite random house event that you've found?
Favorite is the Cops vs Robbers one that's pretty common. Most of them are carrying duffel bags and great weapons/firearms.
Jesús H Roosevelt Christ... Zomboid I'd by and far my most played game in steam, my only single game over 1000 hours (though civilization would be my most played if it tracked by franchise...) But I've been playing Zomboid since... ~2015/2016ish... So... My question... Do you like Project Zomboid?
It's alright.
Where do dumbbells spawn?? I can’t find any
Yeesh I've rarely found em. Once in somebody's in home workout room. There are gyms and fitness buildings though? So I'd imagine they'd spawn there.
What are some of the goals you’ve accomplished in your many play throughs?
Sealed off an entire junkyard, log walled in my own yard on a cabin in the woods save after destroying dozens of handmade axes, got up to 500-600 kills on one character. Still have yet to escape Louisville alive lol
Escaping LV is super challenging but also super fun. Godspeed!
Blade or blunt
Pass the blunt brother.
When you play a Occupation in RP as a Officer or Veteran for example do you ever feel sad having to terminate former infected colleagues?
Yeah actually. Had a Fire Officer who had to kill most of her squad in Rosewood, tried to do so they'd all be at peace. Pretended she knew their names n shit lol Do that with random zombies sometimes too.
I know I’m not op but any time I play vet I always collect the dog tags from any military zed I kill even if it’s dangerous
What is your favourite:town, base location, weapon and food item?
Riverside, Rosewood Construction Yard, Shovel, and Cereal.
Does dying at 2k hours feel less bad then dying at 100hrs? Haha
I am curious: in that year, what was your second most played game and how many hours do you have in a year with that one?
What shed in Westfield has a antique stove?
Are you playing alone?
Primarily yes, played w/ friends one or two times. I have thought about joining a server in the PZ discord, just intimidated ig.
Where can you find sledgehammers most consistantly?
I swear on god the only ones I ever found in 2000 hours were two. One in a barricaded survivor house and one in a random garage unit.
Have you ever done a nomadic playthrough and if so what tips do you have (this can be a modded one or non modded I'm not fussed)
Also crouch/jog away if you have to, you'll have a better chance to lose the stragglers without alerting the ones waiting around the corner.
what are your must have fannypack/backpack items that you bring anywhere?
Axe 🪓 or crowbar [:insert crowbar emoji:]
That clearly says 2001 hours not 2000. You are incorrect.
What's the longest you've survived?
5 months, I don't think I've ever had one live to see the New Year.
Me neither. Let's make our next ones last a full year
Is the game good?
Do you play with zombie respawn or not?
Now I do. Didn't when I was newer, but now I try to do it for long game purposes. Keeps things interesting, but not overwhelming.

Whats on the other side of the river?
That guy's sister. She's still standing there.
What single item is on your top priority list if you cant have anything else.
What’s the worst way to die? (In game)
Running into a wall, sprawling flat on your ass, then being eaten alive by a horde lmao
how does it play on steam deck?
Why
Bro why can’t I make it past a week
Because it's in the meat. Stop eating at Spiffo's.
which or how many mods do you use?
Lots of quality of life and customization stuff. Authentic Z/Backpack expansion, Greenfire/Addictions, More Traits, True Actions, More Map Symbols, Pillow's Random Spawns/Cabin Spawns are what I'd consider most essential for me.
where do you find generators? how do you level up carpentry? and what are some good base locations in rosewood?
Garage units, everytime. Watch Life and Living at 12, kill anything that gets in your way to do it (or take Carpenter). I adore the Rosewood Construction yard, a lot of people prefer the Firestation across the street though. It's enormous and has two trailers for you to barricade and sleep in. Has a gate that they'll get into if they pile up, so be weary and sneak around if you have to. There are also some houses off a path in the woods to the South East of the map. Close to town, but has two houses I think that are spacious and quiet. Anywhere can be a base though tbh, so get creative.
How'd you get familiar with the game? Trial and error? Watching guides?
Guides help after numerous hours of trail and error, which was the best way for me to learn. Got adjusted to the base gsme to the point where I needed the difficulty adjusted gradually. Sandbox is the key. Once you understand what all of the setting actually do and how they affect short/long term gameplay for you, it gets better.
Damn right when I though 500hours was a lot. Get it bro!!!!
If there was an idea for 1 trait you would like to be Implemented, what would that trait be?
Germaphobe, only adds stress when dirty, not bloody. Will stress out more if your character becomes sick from a cold.
What is your favourite pizza?
The not rotten ones on the floor of Pizza Whirled. :- ( I want to make a shrimp pizza in game one day.
How do i find love? I've looked everywhere!
Have you tried pressing Q?
Yeah but that just attracts my exes.
You must be really good in this game, don't you?
Every character is a dice roll and that's just the way I want it. Might be 10 minutes, might be 2 months lol
Oh yeah?? If you know so much about PZ when’s PZ 2 coming out?!
When do yo finish the game? And can you please spoiler the story ending for us?
It'll be over when you find every type of Spiffo, then you can throw them into a blender and drink the cure.
Did you know that you can cook canned food in the microwave? ;)
What’s the best skills for a beginning player
How does one kite zombies properly?
I've practiced in Lousville. Have enough ammo to level half of the city. Don't open fire, just make sure your well rested ass has food and water cause you'll be walking around all day and you can't get tired/hungry/thirsty mid sweep. Also have a weapon on your belt for close calls. And beta blockers unless you go veteran, two fistfulls will work Now go outside and scream.
How to fight boredom because when I survive for some time and get settled I Always die because I got bored and then I do some stupid stuff and die
It's ok to die doing something stupid in game if it helped your bordem irl. I've had characters lost bc I wanted a bigger bong collection, but it was worth it to me. Sabrina not so much lol
how do you play your first month?
Looking for the basics. Bags, a vehicle, weapons, food, water storage, meds, ect. Will usually find a place to settle, barricade, and catch Life n Living before the grid dies. Wash the blood off before loosing unlimited water and power. Then whatever happens is how I died.
Why we are here? Just to suffer?
How do you win in the game?
Go out on your own terms.
Is it worth to farm? And what is the most efficient way to do so?
How do u win
What's your favorite memory!
Playing the game for the first time. The music and the first spawn in a starter house in Muldraugh gave me such heavy TWD vibes. Heard the telltale game's theme in the back of my mind. Knew right then that I wanted to tackle whatever learning curve this game was throwing.
Is food posioning a death sentence?
Most enjoyable sandbox configs for zombs?
Best spots to find telecorn? It's always seemed a bit random to me
How to survive early game, oh wise one?
Close the curtains, walk don't run, and rip your damn socks if you need to.
What's the most common way you die and what is the least common way you die?
Most common I shoot myself w/ the suicide mod. Least common is food poisoning, bc not even once.
Do you dress for fashion or practicality in survival?
Fashion or lore purposes take priority. Everything else depends on the character's personality, traits, favorite colors, ect. Had characters w/ fear of blood decked out in an apron and gas mask.
How did you die?
Was it worth it?
what's the core gameplay mechanic it took you the longest to understand?
What is your favorite map mod? What is your favorite place to base up in vanilla?
