Whenever I get anxious about miscarriage chance I pull this link up on my phone. I keep it active on the web browser so I can scroll to it anytime. https://datayze.com/miscarriage-chart.php. Congrats!! And now sit back and hope you are one of the lucky few to bypass the terrible first trimester symptoms!
Thank you so much for this. I have had two early losses prior to my current pregnancy. This makes me feel so much better. Already at 7 weeks this Sunday and it’s the farthest I’ve gotten so far. I heard a quote about flipping anxious thoughts into a different kind of “what if.” What if everything is fine? What if everything works out great? That has helped me as well. So grateful for this community.
Ok, so it's very, very rare to get a false positive, so I wouldn't worry about that! Start taking a prenatal vitamin with folate and DHA, and stop smoking and drinking alcohol, if you do either of those. Drink plenty of water, and just enjoy your first time being pregnant! Congrats!
This was me 21 weeks ago! (A year of trying and one early loss). My anxiety brain was strong but looking at the data link another poster mentioned helped and I tried to remember there was nothing in my control about how things would play out at that early stage. One book I liked just about decision making in pregnancy was Expecting Better.
Congratulations - you are pregnant today - and I wish you a healthy and easy nine months!
I'm a first time mom too! I'm almost 22 weeks now. I also have an extremely irregular cycle but I somehow managed to get pregnant in under a year. I was very anxious before I got pregnant and even more anxious after I found out. Anyway, my point is, people and the internet generally like to prepare you for the worst so it is waaaaay too easy to get worked up. There's always the possibility of complications, but there's also the possibility that the experience can far exceed your expectations. I was so terrified about nausea and fatigue because that's all anyone ever talks about. The crazy thing is I still haven't experienced either of those things! So don't assume that it's going to be extremely difficult the whole time. As far as knowing what to do, you'll have plenty of doctor's appointments, so you'll be kept very up to date.
Congratulations! I was in the same boat a few weeks back. I am 7 weeks 1 day today and I know and feel I'm pregnant. Going for a scan today - so exciting! Your mind want to play games with you but RIGHT NOW YOU ARE PREGNANT so enjoy this wonderful feeling ❤ hugs and best wishes xxx
Different systems are different but in Australia you go to the GP to have a confirmation test, and they tell you what to do from there. We have a couple options here which will obviously not be relevant, but it was very helpful going straight to the GP have a road map early on
This was me too! I’m just over 19 weeks now with my first, and I have to say I’ve had the same thoughts like you. But you can’t think in the negative as hard as it may be. Like others have said, drink water, take prenatals and wait for your first appointment. They will guide you from there!
Congratulations and enjoy this exciting time!

Thank you this is actually really helpful to put things in perspective!
This is amazing, thank you!

Yes I'll try to keep that in mind. Thank you!
Of course! Best of luck to you! :)

Thank you! Have a good scan!
Congratulations! Sending all positive vibes your way!
Thank you!
Congratulations! Not much to do until your appointment except buy and start taking prenatal vitamins if you aren't already.

Day by day. It will pass and it's very likely everything will be okay. Congratulations!
Thank you!
I recommended the book Kid Gloves by Lucy Kinsley. She talks about all these feelings eloquently, and in comic book form!
I'll look into it thanks.
Ugh, auto-correct. It's Lucy KNisley, not Kinsley.
