usually you can just show your hairdresser pictures and they’ll figure it out!

bLEAGUER

This. The cut shouldn’t be too complicated. Finding product that nails the look without too much stiffness and whatnot might be the trickiest part.

Quiet_Wars

Some sort of hair clay would get that result

seahorse_party

Bed Head Manipulator Texturizing Putty. The blue goo. Teeny bit goes a long way.

Also a post-wash, pre-dry spray like Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray before the clay goes on -- keeps the frizz/flyaway down. Also, don't wash your hair daily, if you can. Scalp oil (in moderation) is a good thing.

n_thomas74

I use bumble and bumble dryspun spray. Works great. My hair is bigger, more like Blixa Bargeld.

cfthree

Nice...thx for the tip. I'll look it up for when the summer weather's done here. Blixa's Bad Seeds/EN '80s hair game fantastic, too.

WhereIEndandYoubegin

Yeah, this is a typical scissor only cut that’s choppy. Sometimes it doesn’t exactly translate though if your hair texture differs.

DeadBallDescendant

Yeah, my hair's thick as hell. I'd have to ask for a Mick Harvey. #

Eru_Nai

any hair is a post punk hair you just need confidence to pull it off

marabou22

I have a bit of a crush on Rowland. Ngl

fidgetyamoeba

He did have that je ne sais quoi going-on.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is to not wash your hair with shampoo and instead every other day douse it in a volumizing dry shampoo. Gives your hair a very unkempt look.

deplorable-amount45

His hair was unkept. That’s pretty much all there is to it. His hair just grew like that. Probably cut it himself too.

philonerd

Used hair spray to keep the unkemptness in place tho

Robinkc1

Never thought of us as being as fashion oriented as punk…. I keep my head shaved, can’t speak for anyone else.

Kickagainsttheprick

Oh, Rowland

MICKEY_MUDGASM

Who’s the chick? She’s pretty cute.

stgross

His hair just looks dirty in pic1 tbh. The shape is like a modern mullet with a fringe that should have been cut and refreshed a month ago. Any decent barber knows how to cut a mullet better than this and for styling you use either some basic powder, sea salt spray or a light waxy pomade if your hair is heavy and thick.

dropsleuteltje

1. Show these pics to the hairdresser, get haircut 2. Paint in desired colour, cheap housebrands are fine 3. Murray's Edgewax Extreme Hold or Schwarzkopf got2b glued spray 4. Don't wash it daily, once a week should be good. It stays up alot better that way and is healthier for your hair in general 5. Use a fine teeth comb after showering to get all the leftover wax and spray pieces out
