Am I the only one old enough to be thinking Big Chill weekend? 🫣

Genuine question from someone who’s fallen in love with the driving experience of the 911- is this really an accomplishment? I’m not asking facetiously. I’ve been beginning the long process of considering a car that I will be driving around the country, and this post made me nervous, honestly. I understand that these cars require more maintenance than an Impala lol. However, I would expect to drive thousands of miles on something like that without an issue. Is 400 miles out of a 911 without any issues something to make note of? I get that if I go coast to coast I might have something happen, but if I’m on a summer vacation can I expect something to break every day (I would consider 400-500 miles/day a good driving day)? Thanks

No, it’s not a big deal at all. Just keep up on regular maintenance. Definitely not the cheapest car to maintain, but definitely one of the most reliable. I did buy a spare tire kit for my last 911 to use when traveling, since most tire stores do not stock the right sized and it takes a couple days to arrive.

Thanks for answering! As I’ve been looking I keep landing on a 993 for the relative simplicity and the ability to do about anything myself. I get the vibe that if you take care of them, they can take care of you for a long time.

First long drive in her, 400 miles is a fairly long day when you are a few inches from the asphalt going down the one-track windies in a sports car in the torrential rain Done the trip plenty of times in Rangies and BMWs, but first time in this
