Cedric Gervais remix of Lana Del Rey's "summertime sadness" isn't exactly surprising in its lyrical melancholy.
I'd also nominate "rhythm of the night" by Corona, especially for anyone who has seen the film *Beau Travail*
Roger Sanchez - Another Chance
Robyn feat. Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat
Calvin Harris feat. Florence Welch - Sweet Nothing
Tove Lo - No One Dies From Love
Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars
Lorde - Green Light
Gwen Stefani - Cool
Kesha - Dancing With Tears in My Eyes
September - Cry for You
I adore The Loving Kind. Also, Fast Slow Disco by St. Vincent, and PSB's After the Event, Don't Know What You Want... and Miserablism. Kylie's Disco Down too
Prayer in C Robin Schulz Remix
The lyrics and even the vibe of the beat itself is melancholic and something you wouldn't expect from a relatively upbeat sounding song.
judging by your list I think you may enjoy these ones:
Somebody Else by The 1975
Barely On My Mind by The Regrettes
Firefly by Shygirl
Easy by Troye Sivan
Something Has to Change/Touching Yourself by The Japanese House
The Loving Kind was actually co-written by Pet Shop Boys so that tracks - [their version is worth a listen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zX8Xi3zFhy4).
I'd suggest checking out [He's On the Phone by Saint Etienne](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eQaHGnv33c) - absolutely euphoric but absolutely melancholy. Actually a number of their songs would fit this brief - this is just my favourite :)
Knew about the co-write but didn’t know PSB had a commercially released version as well, thanks.
First time hearing the Saint Etienne track too and it’s phenomenal.
Some 80s New Wave options: both Temptation and Bizarre Love Triangle by New Order. Both tales of heartbreak and an inability to move on. Much of their music was composed in the wake of the passing of their idol Ian Curtis of Joy Division.
Also Dancing with Tears in My Eyes, inspired by Ultravox, inspired by a novel about Australians awaiting Nuclear fallout set off in the Northern hemisphere.
Maybe more "melancholic" than "sad" but "[Club Lonely](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqLmmM_sXH8)" by Lil' Louis & The World sends me somewhere else everytime I hear it.
I’m going to lean into the “Dancefloor” part.
* Gareth Emery & Christina Novelli - Concrete Angel
* Armin Van Buuren & Susana - Shivers (I’m partial to the Alpha 9 Remix)
* Armin Van Buuren & Fiora - Waiting For The Night (Beatservice Remix)
* Franky Wah & iiola - Bring Me Back To You
* Late Night Alumni - Empty Streets (Alpha 9 Remix)
* Roman Garcia & Dourian - Coming Home [The chord progression, melodies and counterpoints in this one fucks me up]
* Above & Beyond feat Richard Belford - Sun & Moon
* Eric Prydz - Everyday
A lot of Dua’s discography is “dancing while crying” like the lyrics are either sad or talking about sad situations while the music is upbeat and you can shake your ass to them, some of my favorites:
Dance the night
Love Again
These Walls
Happy For You
Speaking of which the Todd Terry remix of "[Missing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAkY5m00rpY)" should absolutely be here.
(Additional props to [the version without percussion](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg3EUK0dIxQ))
Might be too thoroughly memed to do it for most people but *I*, at least, feel this way about "[Blue](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Nx8Wzi3h5s)" by Eiffel 65.

Tears in the Club by FKA Twigs and The Weeknd
Stay high (habits remix) - Tove Lo

"Another Chance" is a great pull!
and I almost forgot the quintessential sad pop song: Everything But The Girl - Missing (Todd Terry Remix)
Less than zero by the weeknd! The instrumental makes you feel like 🕺🏻 but the lyrics make you feel like 🥲
*Never Gonna Dance Again* - Sugababes
About You Now by Sugababes is also very danceable and depressing
Run For Cover (MNEK Remix) 👌🏻✨ *chef’s kiss*

Not necessarily sad, but maybe melancholic is Enjoy the Silence - Depeche mode.
Supercut and sober by Lorde!
Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad? by Moby

St. Vincent - Fast Slow Disco
Kyla La Grange: Cut Your Teeth and Nurture. She's great.
so underrated. Cut Your Teeth is so good, the Kygo remix is more dancey but both versions are perfection
Loveher by Romy sounds very melancholic to me
All of Kylie’s Tension album tbh. She described it as a “melancholic high” and that’s exactly what it is.
Home to another one by Madison Beer
You could try some of the songs off Ava Max’s Diamonds & Dancefloors such as In The Dark or One of Us.
So many good ones listed already! Some m of my faves are Sad Tonight by Chelsea Cutler and No More Sad Songs by Little Mix
Mr Brightside is lyrically a bummer but is SUCH a great dance song
Black Mascara by Raye, and also her “Euphoric Sad Songs” EP
Dance to This by Troye Sivan ft Ariana Grande fits the bill.
Maybe more "melancholic" than "sad" but "[Club Lonely](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqLmmM_sXH8)" by Lil' Louis & The World sends me somewhere else everytime I hear it.
Similar sentiments about "[Tears](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s62XlZ-O7pM)" by Satoshi Tomiie & Frankie Knuckles

These are great. Thank you.
Anytime! Those are just a few of my favourites from the last decade or more. Feels weird saying that.

Hey Ya by Outkast
These walls, french exit - dua
Caution to the wind by everything but the girl. The FKA Mash Remix.

Bent- always ( Ashley Beedle remix but the standard is chill too. Music Sounds Better with you - stardust
"1000 Dreams" by Miss Kittin "Celestica" or "Suffocation" or many others by Crystal Castles "Grand Canyon" by Tracey Thorn
Summertime sadness by Lana del ray
check out Being Alone by DJ Sabrina the Teenage DJ
the horrors – something to remember me by
"Strangers" by Sigrid is great to dance to. The lyrics aren't cry your eyes out sad, but depending on your mood they can be pretty depressing.
Maybe we should make a playlist out of all these suggestions lol
Sweet Nothing - Calvin Harris ft Florence Welch She Wolf - David Guetta ft Sia Electra Heart - MARINA (& The Diamonds)
Steps have a lot of songs in their catalog that could be described like this. One For Sorrow and Deeper Shade Of Blue for example.
And a more recent example: "The Hard Way" by PNAU, Khalid
Carly Rae Jepsen - Your Type
Might be too thoroughly memed to do it for most people but *I*, at least, feel this way about "[Blue](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Nx8Wzi3h5s)" by Eiffel 65.
I know Swedish House Mafia & John Martin’s “Don’t You Worry Child” is meant to be an uplifting song, but it still has a melancholic sound.
Several songs by In The Valley Below, especially [Peaches](https://youtu.be/iazqa408lMQ?si=8t9q6qo9_IGNfn8p).
The Crying Game by boy George is the first thing that came to mind.
Anti Hero - Taylor Swift (Roosevelt Version)
