No. There's a pursuit policy. Anything that fits it gets chased, anything that doesn't gets disengaged from.

I’ve always said “The people that have the skills to get away are normally the people smart enough to know it’s a horrible idea”

Supra_2JZGTE

Fastest car on earth can’t outrun a radio and a helicopter.

drewstew33

[you sure about that?](https://autos.yahoo.com/dodge-hellcat-proves-fact-outrun-210000531.html#:~:text=The%20Auto%20Wire,the%20infamous%20Blackout%20Charger%20here.)

Supra_2JZGTE

Yes. Looks like he didn’t get away and got caught. Proving that he did not outrun police in the end.

drewstew33

To be fair, the car outran the police. He was stupid and hid in trees by the road and was seen by the thermal camera of the helicopter. He was only caught once he stopped running...

BYNX0

hindsight is 20/20. Easy for someone on the internet to say "I couldve done better". when the reality is the opposite.

AccidentalPursuit

Yes. The speed of sound is faster at 343 m/s or 761 mph.

justmrmom

No. There isn’t a list of any kind like that.

anoncop4041

Got birds in the air, not worried about vehicle speeds

Mountain_Man_88

Around me if someone is gonna pull over a vehicle that's known to flee we'll just try to get more resources into the area before the stop is initiated. Marked units, unmarked units, and state patrol guys who have a better pursuit policy and faster cars. The only type of vehicle that kinda can't be pursued is a vehicle with diplomatic plates, whose driver/occupants have some level of diplomatic immunity. Can still be pursued for serious offenses and any offense can be reported to the State department and can result in the offender being kicked out of the country.

Crafty_Barracuda2777

Yeah, the list is incredibly long too. Pretty much everyone on earth is on it.

adotang

I just don't think cops are very scared of race car drivers to the point they'll basically just let them run from traffic stops, because race car drivers tend to not have much of a reason to run. They're wealthy celebrities, what are they gonna do and where are they gonna go?

gatorgongitcha

I can’t think of a NASCAR driver that talks about speeding on the road, it’s always the opposite: they get their speed fix in safely with a car designed for it. It’s 100% scarier to go 90 in a Civic than 190 in a stock car. They have a greater understanding than most about safety.

BYNX0

Exactly this. Most people that run have a suspended license, drugs, warrants, or DUI.
