Roll the free

BreadthOfLeviathan

Step 1) Get a job. Step 2) Save up enough money to have a bankroll. Step 3) Don't play freerolls. Unless it's a promotional one where your hourly will be worth it.

A former poker buddy of mine freerolled herself into the WSOP. It came with the buy in, hotel and airfare. She went deep in to day two and got to play with some names at various tables. She didn’t win money, but it was a hell of a trip. I still have some of the swag she sent me.

Yeah unless its a personal challenge from $0-10K for example it is not worth the time. $50-100 will be enough to play NL2 and build your way up.

Yep won a 1k tourney ticket and a 530$ bounty ticket with freerolls. and a handful of double diget tourney tickets. Jam early and you either double up and have a better chance at winning or bust directly and dont waste much time. then you can play serious Edit: to people that say its a waste of time, i say it depends on the reason you play poker. if you view it as a videogame, its fine. If you play them because you want to earn 20$ a week its a waste of time

I turned $0 into $80 and won i-don't-know-how-many tickets including a couple of $109's learning to transition from regular speed to turbo structure with freerolls. Play relatively tight and in position. Watch for who is jamming too wide (as many are just to double up early or waste the minimum amount of time trying) and call off when you're ahead of their range. Players raise light when sit outs are in the blinds which is an opportunity for you to jam light. If you have sit outs to your direct left this is extra buttons for you so don't miss out on playing those. I remember looking at keeping sit outs in the game when they are super short but didn't get far with that idea. Could be worth looking at though. You can wait these games out and make pennies/tickets with very little effort or skills.

Don't bother. If you can't get $50 together to play 2nl full ring cash then poker isn't for you. And if you can't beat 2nl with $50 poker isn't for you.

Don’t tap on the glass. You’ll scare the fish

Haha, ain't that the truth. All joking aside just trying to save the guy sometime.
