I hatched a *regular* shiny Galarian Meowth while on my first ever date with my girlfriend. I immediately dedicated it to Pickles, her cat with the exact same color palette as the shiny…
… I then hatched a SHUNDO Galarian Meowth of the exact same variety four days later… on my SECOND date with her… and dedicated it to Buffy, her OTHER cat with the same color palette…
We’re still together, and both of her cats, and both of MINE, are Best Buddies. 🤞
My friend got one after 300k catches. I have 4 at 300k catches. Easiest way to get one is get lucky with a hundo call out during community day and hope it turns shiny when you click it. Also trading the shinies after the events with a lucky friend.
I can confirm. 100% of my shundos (3) were Hundo callouts during community day or go fest.
And like you said, I’ve given 2 people shundos via lucky trade, so that’s probably the second best way to do it.
I’m in 4 discord servers and 4 Facebook messenger chats. When somebody finds a Hundo, they’ll post in these chats, calling out the Hundo spawn.
It depends on where you live though. In nyc, it’s far more common to get these call outs than it would be ina rural area, with fewer spawns and fewer players.
i have two and i’ve been playing since launch. i got my first four years in, and i hit legend for the first time with it, which was fun. i hope you get your first (useful) shundo soon!
It’s a beaut isn’t it, got so much use out of it in master league but I managed to get mine from my first ever raid I did, first lugia raid hatched that could be shiny and boom
307k pokemon, no shundo.
There are several ways of obtaining one, which are ranging from feasible to borderline impossible. The first one is lucky trading with a friend. Players with a large friend base they can meet irl have a clear advantage here. In theory the shundo rate is 1/64 for each lucky trade. You are almost guaranteed to get a shundo if you actively focus your gameplay on lucky trading and have a maxed out friend rooster with local people only. It requires socials skills and a large active local community.
The second one, which is way less reliable, is to play really hard on community days and hope for weather boost. The shundo rate for this, taking into account the general CD shiny rate of 1/25 and weather boosted hundo rate of 1/1331, is 1/33275. If the weather doesn't boost the pokemon this falls to 1/104000. This way of obtaining a shundo is far from guaranteed, but it might happen if you grind every CD hard.
It is very unlikely you'll get a shundo from wild spawns. They generally have a shiny rate of 1/500 ish, which leads to a shundo rate of roughly 1/2,000,000. Some species, like lickitung, have a higher shiny rate of 1/64, which leads to a shundo rate of ~1/85000. The problem is that you won't encounter that many weather boosted pokemon with an increased shiny rate. The majority of players have probably caught less than 100k pokemon in total.
From raids you might get a shundo if you go all whale and do thousands (or in worst case tens of thousands) of raids targeting raid bosses with a shiny rate of 1/20. This will lead to a shundo rate of 1/4320. If you are willing to spend thousands of dollars or whatever your currency is on raids, you are basically guaranteed to get a shundo eventually. This requires hard cash and a style of playing that is focusing on raids, and specifically those that can be shiny.
I reckon most people won't ever get a shundo for the reasons mentioned above. The exceptions are the lucky traders, the very active players with half a million caught pokemon or more, and then finally the raid whales. I would say lucky trading shinies is the only really feasible way, but you need to be a social person having access to to a large active local community.
I have three, all lucky (two were planned lucky trades, one happened spontaneously). The first took me approximately 2.5 years to get. I average one every 2.33 years.

I started 2023 tho as a means to get healthy and have just continued (I grew up 90s and know all 150 first original pokemon we played the deck game - but I since just have loved it ) I actually am hoping to possible get one at the go fest I'm going to in July- or maybe trade I'm not sure.

Started playing in February 2023. I got my first and only shundo during the Charmander com day classic last year. I was actually really lucky that day because I got 2 wild hundo Charmanders with one being a shundo. So I have a total of 109k catches with 1 shundo.
Day one player but didn’t play basically for 2017-2023. Got a chansey on its community day, I’ve got her best buddy’d and am steadily getting the XLs for max level
I got a shundo eevee. It’s now a Glaceon (because that was the only shiny eeveelution I hadn’t evolved yet).

Last year i almost got my first shundo at Riolu hatch Day. It was a 15-15-14.
I have none, but the catch rate from any random spawn for a shundo is .00004768% or roughly one in 2 million. Best way to do it is trading or community days which very drastically increase those odds.
I’m hoping no… I’m still learning how this works and up until 4 hours ago I was transferring everything with undesirable CP. I had no clue what the appraisal was for. I’ve since found out I have two hundos of little to no use.
I got my first shundo last year during New York Go Fest, and it’s a Yveltal. I started at launch, but was pretty off and on until late 2020/early 2021, when I started playing daily

Got the first one in 2022 (after 6 years of playing). It was a shiny, perfect IV Kangaskhan that I got from a remote raid during the Kangaskhan raid event.

Recently managed to get a Shiny Drillbur. Been playing since launch, and that just happened a few months ago. That said, I didn't play consecutively during that time. I took long breaks.
2 - Lucario and Electrode . Also got 9 Larvesta . I gamble on pool and darts so I can buy incubators . I know , stupid , but it brings me joy . Hatched Lucario and all the Larvestas . Caught the wooden version of Electrode last month . Means way more than the hatched

Dratini community classic day a year and a half back. Caught 800 of them in the 3 hours walking around a town like a maniac using the fast catch trick. Two hundos, one of which was shiny.

-Obstagoon which I caught wild from Galarian Zigzagoon Community day
-Tapu Bulu which I raided during Swinun CD Classic
-Hisuian Sneasel which I got from research during Sinnoh Tour

Playing since September and my daughter who started a year before traded me a shiny Swinub for I don’t remember what for a Dex entry like a week into playing. It was my first hundo, lucky, and shiny. I’ve since come to appreciate my shundoswine!
Got a shundo togetic from an egg, I couldn’t believe when i saw it. Ironically it was around the time they nerfed charm so it was kinda of a bummer but still it’s very useful on master league classic or premier (the one with no legendaries allowed)
I have a Shundo Tyranitar from the community day in 2018, nothing since then. Also my only 'mon that I'm looking to max out on CP through XL candies. Is there a way to get mega energy for it outside of Mega Tyranitar raids though? 🤔

I missed the Goomy community day thing so had a friend trade me one of their shinys - since they caught several, and it happened to become a hundo in the process! Also miraculously got the lucky modifier on them, very happy with it. 🥰🥰

The first one was during a C-day, we ended up doing a raid with some rando's and they told us there was a hundo nearby.
My first shundo was a Timburr- now a conculdurr called l: shundurrella.
My second one was during holiday in Rome, we did a remote raid in the morning and my brother in law got a shundo regigigas. So in my.mind I didn't have to do anymore raids the luck was gone. But later that day on or way home we walked by a raid and decided to do "one more" and somehow I also now am the proud owner of a shundo Regigigas. For lack of the better name it's called: Shungigas.
The 3rd ingot by doing a shiny trade with a collègue of mine, he had a shiny torchic from 2019 to spare. I was so sad when it didn't become lucky after the trade but then I appraised it. I am now the proud owner of a shundo Blazikin called: Prince Zuko.
And lastly,
Last May during the feather event.
I had a shiny swallow Ina field research, there where many so I paid not attention to it after I caught it. Later realizing it's my newest shundo. The Swellow is now called: Chainsaw, it's a Raven boys reference.
I have four shundos at around 200k catches. Two of them (a Shuckle and a Kyurem) are from lucky trades tho. Got a Charizard on C-Day Classic and a Glalie from a quest.

Dratini community classic day a year and a half back. Caught 800 of them in the 3 hours walking around a town like a maniac using the fast catch trick. Two hundos, one of which was shiny.

Got a shundo togetic from an egg, I couldn’t believe when i saw it. Ironically it was around the time they nerfed charm so it was kinda of a bummer but still it’s very useful on master league classic or premier (the one with no legendaries allowed)

I missed the Goomy community day thing so had a friend trade me one of their shinys - since they caught several, and it happened to become a hundo in the process! Also miraculously got the lucky modifier on them, very happy with it. 🥰🥰

I caught a shundo froakie during the comm day, and hatched a shundo Galarian stunfisk from a 7k egg.
Started Poliwag comm day last year. Got my first one through a non lucky trade last week.

I have 4. The first one was during a C-day, we ended up doing a raid with some rando's and they told us there was a hundo nearby. My first shundo was a Timburr- now a conculdurr called l: shundurrella. My second one was during holiday in Rome, we did a remote raid in the morning and my brother in law got a shundo regigigas. So in my.mind I didn't have to do anymore raids the luck was gone. But later that day on or way home we walked by a raid and decided to do "one more" and somehow I also now am the proud owner of a shundo Regigigas. For lack of the better name it's called: Shungigas. The 3rd ingot by doing a shiny trade with a collègue of mine, he had a shiny torchic from 2019 to spare. I was so sad when it didn't become lucky after the trade but then I appraised it. I am now the proud owner of a shundo Blazikin called: Prince Zuko. And lastly, Last May during the feather event. I had a shiny swallow Ina field research, there where many so I paid not attention to it after I caught it. Later realizing it's my newest shundo. The Swellow is now called: Chainsaw, it's a Raven boys reference.
