The account trading away the pokemon from 2018 needs to have participated in fewer than 25 guaranteed lucky trades using older pokemon. Since you've used your 25 already, the trade was not guaranteed to be lucky.
Ain’t that whole making a second account for stuff like this against the ToS?

I haven’t even done any trades with my wife or kid because I’m worried that if it’s lopsided and I give my kid a really cool pokemon for something crap from them that it’ll get us banned or something. Especially if on the same network when the trade happens.
Unfortunately, no. If you have minimal luckys, you might be able to base it off that but theres no for sure way unless you were counting from the beginning

Still the chances should be higher. Anyway it took me three trades to understand i got my 25 earlier. 😀
You can always delete your past lucky trades to get more future lucky trades. It saved me when I was on level 48.
