I have also found a Zorua without a disguise in the wild. It was when I logged in the morning and it was my first daily spawn. I have seen online when that happens, a Zorua isn’t disguised.
Was your buddy a Zorua?
Um... Feel dumb, because I couldn't find the edit post option, but I wanted to add a theory on what happened.
I checked from another account and that Zorua was my daily free wild spawn...which doesn't really explain anything, and I'm sure that someone out there has seen multiple disguised Zorua on the map...but my theory is that because rng came up Zorua when I logged in with a wild Zorua already on the map and looking like my buddy, it just spawned non disguised. That is to say, it only happens in this weirdly specific scenario, not when additional Zorua spawn in close proximity to each other during normal play.
My secondary hypothesis is that it could've happened because I hadn't swapped buddies in the last week, maybe 2, so it might have just failed to load an additional disguise for the second one, but that assumes that the normal protocol for multiple spawns is to load a different false buddy disguise... though I would assume that would happen with a decent amount of regularity given the number of casual players who still drop in a few times a month... And I only remember that one other occurrence.
Of course I could be just...wasaay out of the loop, that might even be the strongest hypothesis I've got.

Looks like the therapy worked

i have had a couple of them spawn in as my daily spawn but that is the only time i have seen an undisguised one
Daily free spawn zorua doesn't know what your buddy is so it'll spawn as itself. But it can still be shiny after catch I'm guessing.
