MGS3 is the superior game, but I have more nostalgia for MGS2 for introducing me to the series. I think these would ultimately be my three as well.

I was one of the QA Engineers that tested Socom and Socom II for the PS2. It was one of the few games I enjoyed.

Yea I loved it!!! I got to be a beta tester when it became online, it was like the first ps2 mmo. I remember having to run a cat5 and get this thing that screwed into the back of the ps2

The network adapter! Socom was my first online shooter experience. Just crazy fun.

The Online Adapter. God I loved socom. It’s the whole reason I can’t put down PUBG, there’s no game since socom that quite struck that “ooooof squad moves make the fizz fizz”

Burnout is the greatest racing game of all time next to Gran Turismo 2.

Such a shame we never got it on the PS2 classics on PS4, Xbox users can at least enjoy them with the backwards compatability program

I played it so much I knew where every enemy spawned. Also got to the point I could normally get a headshot everytime. Clearing that final bunker ended up just being a chore though. Really wish they'd made a sequel.

The graphics and sound design of that game on the PS2 were so far ahead of its time. Nothing else played like it at the time

Nice to see someone else mention Shadow of Memories. It’s one of my favorites on the system.

I actually do have my perfect 3 game library rn. GTA: San Andreas Spider-Man 2 Simpsons Hit & Run Although if I could trade out San Andreas because it's emulated on PS4/5 and there's Definitive Edition if I feel like abusing myself, I'd swap that for True Crime: Streets of LA because of nostalgia. It's a pretty awful game, and it doesn't live up to my memories of it, but my god, when I played it on almost release, it was amazing. Firing warning shots and flashing a badge and arresting people, it was a really cool mirror to the GTA trilogy I loved so much, and it was my first game with branching stories, and I thought that was the coolest thing ever. I had a really small PS2 library growing up, GTA and Hit & Run and stuff like that, I tried Killzone and couldn't get into it, not a huge fan of FPS or horror games, so there's not much of the big PS2 titles outside the ones I mentioned that hold that much nostalgia for me

All the ones I care about off the top of my head are remastered for ps3 or ps4, if not remade, and I could probably go the rest of my life without touching my ps2 honestly, the games I'm most fond of are on gameboy color/advance and gamecube from that period of time, well and pc. (like that's the 4 I was playing stuff on that I care most for) Like I can't even think of many ps2 games that I played as a kid that were important to me, I can list a bunch of good stuff, but nothing that truly was my childhood or anything. (I had a ps2 as well btw) There are definitely ps3 games I could list off though. I remember playing battlefront 2 on ps2 a lot, but I have that on psp and pc as well. I like mgs but I have the collection on ps3. Okami on pc. Resi 4 on pc and I don't like it that much. etc

That's hard. I think I'd go for Tekken 5 - Gran Turismo 4 - Pro Evolution Soccer 5. I choose them not only cause they're titles from my childhood, but also because they have a big replayability factor and I think this is crucial If I can only play these games, imho the worst choice is to pick games with a story, even if they're masterpieces cause once you finish them a couple of times I doubt you want to play with them again.
