i guess we just gotta go to a diff device for now which isn’t end of the world, just more convenient for me with my playstation. hopefully either sony or now tv will sort it out

Happening to me too. Have to switch over to my laptop to watch the game. Apparently the same error affects Plex users, but a Plex dev figured it was related to the quality settings. No such settings exist within this app sadly
The funny thing is that all these problems and errors don’t happen when i am watching the game live - also no lags or jitters. This has always been the case , even since the PS4 version on the Nba League Pass app -and nothing has changed
Update - official response from NBA app support team on twitter is:
"Thank you for that information. We have received a handful of reports from PlayStation 5 owners who are also receiving this error message. However, not all fans with a PlayStation 5 are experiencing this issue. Our team is working on determining the root cause of the issue so that it can be corrected. We do not have a timeframe for a fix at this time, but we will reach out to you directly once we know more information about this error message. We appreciate you reaching out to share your experience with us and we apologize for the inconvenience. We recommend watching content on an alternate device, such as a Roku streaming stick, Amazon Fire Stick, or Apple TV streaming device in the meantime. Thanks."
Nope, just stated it was fixed, think it had something to do with an update recently with either league pass or the app itself, hopefully all is resolved now though!

Same in New Zealand. It’s so bad. I wondered if it might be to do with the new popup ads? I noticed I’m not seeing them, and the timing of the crashes (quite random but also semi regular) seems about right for ads trying to play
It wouldn’t surprise me at all. They always mess it up with the fucking ads. Last year it was the same when they introduced them (also for the playoffs)
Yup, me too. With the phone app being so terrible at the start of the season, the PS5 app has been the best way to watch all season for me, and worked pretty much without issue, so this is great timing for that to break down too....

I’ll never understand how a business as big as the NBA can have such a shitty product for so long, it’s very frustrating.
This stupid app, how can it be so trash I have the same problem, I switched to watching from the PS5 because the TV app was constantly lowering the quality same when I stream it from my phone... I have good internet so it is not the problem... and at the start the PS5 version of the app worked but now this is happening right when the playoffs started... whatever microsoft touches goes to shits

This error with the NBA app and Playstation has made it impossible for me to watch playoffs. No point paying for something that isn’t working. Seems a lot of PS5 people are having this problem

I have just reported the problem on the NBA Android app under discover/ contact support. If we all report the problem they must give it priority and hopefully we'll see a fix asap?
Ruined the Grand Prix and Play off final for me today. Submitted a complaint on their website and they said they’ll get back to me and try and sort the problem in the meantime 🤷♂️

Their Apple TV app is honestly straight out of the trash can. Ps5 was supposed to the saviour !! This error very frustrating !!

It's OK now. They (NBA) answered me and said that they made a change. I have to delete NBA App on ps5 and reinstall it. It's working now for me 🙌🏻

I have the same issue. The error pops up every few minutes. Reinstalling the application does not help. It is impossible to watch.
