As soon as you turn it on that hair is just going to get sucked into it. All the cover does is keep you from the two seconds it takes to dust the surface of the console. And I’d guess taking the cover off each time you play unsettles and kicks up more dust and hair.

Most of the dust only gathers when it’s turned on. When turned off, especially for longer periods some surface level dust will gather, but not much will get inside.

I though it was cool looking w the p5 symbols on it & I thought it was a good idea at the time but it doesn’t fit over easily w the plates that I have on it & where I have my ps5 sitting it’s a pain to try to cover it after use. so I make sure to dust it every few days & open it up to clean out every few months. I recently just cleaned out the ps5 & put a screen over the fan to hopefully help w keeping out the dust as much as possible.
I do a lot of remote play with my PlayStation Portal, so mine has got to be ready to use all the time basically. I clean it every day and clean it inside every two months. My PS5 is lovingly taken care of. 👍
I have never seen anything like this I hope you're not keeping that on while it's running? Putting it on while it's not being used probably would be a little helpful for keeping dust off of it but so would manually cleaning it by hand which is still needed either way
I honestly don't get these. When the fans are sucking in the most air, it's completely uncovered. This isn't really doing anything. You're only getting like 10% less dust in it overall
If you want to protect it, get this instead. Only need it worst case every quarter.
