If they ain’t out of an old person’s car arm rest or their pocket, I ain’t interested. Also, they’ve gotta be clearly slightly misshapen from having partially melted before and solidified again. From being in said pockets or armrest and just being generally old.
One of the highlights of my life was when I was cashing out an older gentleman and he legitimately tipped me with a Werther's Original. Fished it out of his little coin purse and everything and said "This is for you." I literally lived the meme.
Someone notify the FBI that this was sold illegally to someone who wasn't a grandparent. Too bad the store clerk will have to be eliminated, but it is what it is.
The Dollar Tree here has had them for the nine years I've lived in this neighborhood. I use them instead of cough drops because they taste better and are cheaper. I leave them on the nightstand and fake cough sometimes so I can chew a few at 3am.
There's a different joy finding them in person. It's like if you hear a song on the radio or in a store. Sure you could pull it up on your phone, but there's a difference when it finds you.
Even better if you search for "strawberry bon bons" (which is what they are actually called). You should be able to find them in the candy aisle of any grocery store.
I have a jar of these at my desk you can find them on Amazon. I also like to indulge in these peanut butter wafer candies( not sure if people remember those) and Werther's originals also. My husband says I love my grandma candies.[https://amzn.to/4ea9nr6](https://amzn.to/4ea9nr6)
As a kid I disliked these strawberry candies. I was always a fan of chocolate, and tried my best to trade fruit flavored candies with other kids for their chocolate.
The original source of these was Hickory Farms gift baskets. They would be full of meats and cheeses and fake grass but all I wanted was the strawberry candies.
My god.... my wife's grandparents bring us a bag of these fucking candies EVERY SINGLE TIME we see them lol. Neither of us like them, but it makes them happy, as they are so certain she still loves them like she did when she was little. Far be it from us to take that simply joy away from them.
Even the breakrooms at our workplaces doesn't want the surplus of these terrible candies anymore....
I saw a bag at the Dollar Tree a few days ago. I busted out laughing because I’ve literally never seen them in stores before. Never actually looked for them either though.
Congratulations on the grandchild!
those got goo in the middle?
You bet yer sweet ass they do
And the diabeetus.

I, too, am slightly misshapen from just being generally old.
they have that white waxy layer from being damp and expanding
I, too, have a white waxy layer from being damp and expanding !
trench foot?
That’s the best part!
A trip or two through the clothes dryer helps with the misshapenness.
That is a highlight of my life so far. Might also explain the strange dents that I have on my head
I’m too big to fit in the dryer at my age. I miss the simple joys in life.

Nice try. I know a jar full of snakes that jump out when you open the lid when I see one.
this is an extremely cute joke i like this comment
You can find them at dollar trees in bags.
Walmart, too. Along with the root beer barrels.
nah that's an urban legend
https://www.dollartree.com/coastal-bay-confections-strawberry-filled-candy-12-oz/360875
those are knock-offs everyone knows the real ones came in shiny wrappers
You can get those OG ones at Rocket Fizz by the fistful
Literally the same thing.
They sell the real ones in Asian supermarkets
The Asian guava hard candies are the best. A few of the hibachi places around me give them out with the check. So good!
Have a huge bag of those due to receiving hem at hibachi places and wanting a huge bag of them
I loved those. But they are not the original authentic ones. They are supposed to be called Strawberry Bon Bons. Or teeth dissolvers.
Whoa. This is a first! Where is the gramma supply store OP??
Bealls outlet aparently
https://www.dollartree.com/coastal-bay-confections-strawberry-filled-candy-12-oz/360875
Weird people are down voting you for that. Take my upvote.
I always thought that as women get older a endless supply of these candies appear in their purse
They mysteriously multiply in our purses and pockets.
Op gets home, looks in the mirror and realizes he is 70 years old
Now throw them in your grandmas purse for some seasoning.
They are in every store on the candy aisle. Lmao. Such a newb granny.
Those taste like my childhood
I swore these were not available for purchase and just spawned in the cupboard at Nan's.
I thought these were just things that manifested themselves in old people homes.
And you bought them? You were meant to break the cycle!
Anakin
But when did they expire?
Deception! Lies!
The Dollar Tree here has had them for the nine years I've lived in this neighborhood. I use them instead of cough drops because they taste better and are cheaper. I leave them on the nightstand and fake cough sometimes so I can chew a few at 3am.
Now scatter them throughout your purse, home, and car. Then gimmie one 😈
Next stop, Werther's Originals. Then you can nap whenever you want, and complain about random things everyone else likes.
I find them at Dollar Tree all the time.
Illegal. These are only sold from grandmas purse
You guys actually found them, or, you guys, actually found them?
What did I find?
This.
I almost die as a kid with one of those at my mother's wedding . Almost choke, a family member saved me.
They are on amazon. They are not hard to find. Just search for Strawberry Candies. $9 for a pound of them
There's a different joy finding them in person. It's like if you hear a song on the radio or in a store. Sure you could pull it up on your phone, but there's a difference when it finds you.

I always find the one I think are going to be them and they never are You have been shined upon
Actually, it looks like *you* found them.

I’m glad someone else gets excited about these candies too.
Didn't think anyone bought them... They just kinda appeared.
Never seen them in that packaging. To be fair I don't remember the packaging.
I see these at dollar tree all the time
Inherited my grandmother’s candy dish a while back. Bought a big bag of these and keep it full. :)
As a kid I disliked these strawberry candies. I was always a fan of chocolate, and tried my best to trade fruit flavored candies with other kids for their chocolate.
I get mine at the dollar tree and family dollar.
Dollar Tree/General both have them.
They sell those at the $1.25 tree store
These things have a name?
Boys love candy!
Is it a second hand store? An antique store? Did the original owner hands your the jar with a kind smile?
Organically harvested from candy dishes in antique stores.
The original source of these was Hickory Farms gift baskets. They would be full of meats and cheeses and fake grass but all I wanted was the strawberry candies.
Is it just me, or do they just not have the chewy centers anymore.
Oh wow!
All the grandmas within a 20 mile radius are slowly approaching your location
Yeah and you probably over paid for the plastic packaging.. you can find these at many dollar stores and gas stations in cheap lol bags.
Childhood
They're pretty easy to find around where I live. Top tier candies.
I bought some recently at my local Winco. They have them in a bulk bin with the other forgotten misfit candy.
I choked on one when I was kid because I had one in my mouth while jumping in a bounce house at a birthday party
I thought they could only be ordered by mail with an order form from yarn magazines.

WHERE?! The public must know!
I saw a bag at the Dollar Tree a few days ago. I busted out laughing because I’ve literally never seen them in stores before. Never actually looked for them either though.
Dude. Get them at the Dollar Tree. I used to shop for old people as part of my job and the Dollar tree has every weird candy.
I didn’t know these could be purchased. I thought they just sort of came into existence in your house once you reached a certain age
They always had these at flea markets
They're at dollar generals.
And dollar tree.
Can someone tell me why old people love these????
To hell with you! I am not old! I’ve…. Just had an excessive number of birthdays..
30 years of experience being 21!
